The Lost Canyon of GOLD

- Опубликовано: 18 сен 2024
- We head off on a excursion miles into a vertical canyon, deep in the California wilderness in search of a long lost canyon claimed to be one of the richest placer deposits in the mother lode region! There was once a entire city and over 5,000 miners working these hills and the rich alluvial deposits abundant high and low.. No roads in or out, only a historical pack mule trail hardly maintained.. What will we find? Better grab some popcorn and come with us to find out!

Another fantastic video from another incredibly beautiful spot. You've done an excellent job of sharing that beauty with your viewers. I post videos. You create art. It ain't all about the gold in the pan. Great weather and another scenic day on the river with some good friends ...that's 100% pure gold. Aloha

@@californiamotherlodeprospect I'm already thinking about an October trip. If I don't see you on this one, we will do some prospecting together on the next one. P.S. It's time for you and Todd to start thinking about your Hawaiian vacations this winter.
My life passion and peace is where this is ISO for living

That plant at 6:49 is amazing! To take one home and propagate them.
DAM8658 Here you go buddy! I grew up with these in the woods of Oregon. Tiger Lilly www.edenbrothers.com/store/fall-lily_bulbs_tigrinum_splendens.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_4Sd5tyr4wIVFcpkCh0zsA0KEAQYASABEgLJhvD_BwE
I see them all over the motherlode and seems where you find them, the water is usually drinkable nearby.
That's the place to prospect That's for sure, thanks for video 📹
Love the historical diggins! Looks like they worked benches, maybe try some high banking or run sluice in the springs up in the high terrace cobble deposits!
Yes I love that stuff as well, they sure were some men back then!

Really great video, you must GO BACK : D when the water is lower and warm enough to swim in. Drag Top Cats ass up there! Hell I wish I could go too! I will swim in anything!
It was a awesome trip for sure, even with not much gold thats just prospecting!
I've spent the last season looking for a new claim, something closer and family style. Found it too! But you just reminded me that I love to explore new areas. I'll work the dirt this season but next year I'll be poking around again...
Thats great Bart, yes still always nice to get out and see something new once in a while!

Jerry,
You always find beautiful places to do your prospecting videos. And I truly enjoy your choices. It’s like I put myself in your video. I can’t prospect for gold but I can set on the side of the river and dangle my feet or just watch the water go by and enjoy the BEAUTY. Thanks for the beautiful surroundings!! You’re the best ❤️❤️!! Go get the GOLD🤩🤩🤩🤩
I really do appreciate that you appreciate it Phyllis thank you!
Great spot..really enjoyed your video..keep at it mate. you will hit the mother load!!

It's just like gravity dredging. Nice and quiet.
Outstanding, Crackin video Thank You!
Right on brotha!
The trail you are in looks well worn. Many people have been going in there so it is no secret.
No one said it was a secret
Emigrant gap is such a beautiful place.
I'm not good with heights either and wouldn't even be able to get down that hill unless I was holding on to something or on all fours!!!😂😂😂😁
Yo Rasta!
I think its my inner ear honestly, thinking I may have some issues my balance hasn't been the same recently..
@@californiamotherlodeprospect the shiny yellow stuff can motivate you in many ways to do things YOU wouldn't normally do!😉👍🌟🌟
@@insolentstickleback3266 Areet man.

That was some beautiful land, imagine building a cabin on top of the hill 😍 awesome video

Yes I need to slow down some times for sure lol, thanks Mark!
Now that's a spot!
Really cool area for sure!
Great video jerry ⛏
Right on Adam!
Hi California Mother Lode Prospectors , I wish that I could come up too California right about now , because the earthquakes are probably opening up places where it could expose or shake loose any kind of gold or maybe even a motherlode ! 👍😃
Hi John! yes lots of earthquakes lately for some reason, not stopping me though!
Nice job on the video, i really have enjoyed your uploads, hig quality
Much appreciated phishy!
Awesome video man. It was like pioneer pauly meets dances with wolves. You saw some color so you gotta get back to the area. It reminds me alot of a spot on the american river ive been too
Thanks for the support!
This place is in west Virginia the movie was made here Wrong turn 😀😀😀😀😀
LOL
Right on jerry!!!
Thanks brotha!
That looks like Rattlesnake Haven‼️🆘
Good video. How long have you been prospecting for gold?
About 8 years now, Thanks Rich!
inside bend across the way probably has alot of flood gold, id go back and bring a sleeping bag.
Oh the historic G.V!! I've been reading history about the very same area you are in! I'd like to link up some time... Maybe take me to pickers paradise ? Jk I am thinking of starting my own gold/mineral prospecting channel. The gold is not as good as yours. Luckily I'm in a fairly gold rich county near the mountains of Washington state...Great content Jerry -Gold Pan Dan-
Snake eggs?.. 😵💫😵💫😵💫
Maybe next time u guys
I did a lot of dredging on the American River. Show me your nuggets!!!!
Consider looking for gold north of Santa Cruz😊
Near creak
Is the canyon something anyone can prospect like, the Yuba River State Park (or at least portions of it are public)? No intention of breaking some kind of protocol/etiquette/unwritten rule(s) with asking is intended. I'm completely new to panning/prospecting.
Chuck this area is wild and scenic river so it cannot be claimed but you had pan still, look up auburn state rec area, wild and scenic river systems and blm/forest land but you have to watch out for claims on these lands.
@@californiamotherlodeprospect thanks much!
You guys ever get poison oak on these trips?
What is the Canyon called? What area is it in?
What you think of the gold monster 1000 just got it and learning it. And we’re can I use it in ca.
I'm very impressed with it, probably the most sensitive machine on the market but like all vfl's it suffers from hot ground and materialization.
I got me excited when I said let's dig then they fired up that hill hickey music
hill hickey, ha , is that in tennesee ?
About made me want to break out my banjo is start beating it on the ground
would you consider selling that banjo ??
I always wanted to do that do u guys happen to teach people. If you do i wpuld like to contact you guys. Thank you
Thanks Lau, Possibly in the future we may do some guides stuff, for sure some group outings, keep an eye out for info!
@@californiamotherlodeprospect that will be awsome.
Sacramento right?
sorta, way east towards the mountians!
@@californiamotherlodeprospect Thanks for your reply. I am just a novice prospector living in New Zealand. I find your videos fascinating.
Hard to find good gold on big water!
You do research and then don't follow your leads?
Good observation about the hydraulic pits.
We should have stayed out there multiple days the hike was what messed everything up, too much for a day trip so were limited on where we could go. was 8.8 miles round trip, 2,200 ft elevation change change though.
Did the native Americans had any interest in gold??greetings from Holland 👍🇳🇱 wish state you are in??
No not any really, they knew whites wanted it and they would use info of where gold was for to trade from time to time.
Where is that
Picker canyon
yes sir!
Thank you for another great adventure. And, thank you for using the bleep button to be respectful and keeping the language family friendly. I have never seen snake eggs; that was cool too.
Does anyone know the history of "Snow Mountain"? It's approximately 39 miles NE of the Auburn SRA. On Google I see what seem to be massive tailing piles (hydraulic mining)?

Not saying where you are is lame
lol why would I want to give up my spots?
California Mother Lode Prospectors
Well you might get more viewers
Apparently that is something you want or you would not be spending time making videos
If you think you can make more at your spots well go ahead if you gave out real info how many people do you actually would go and hike in ? And if they did how much do you think they would take out ?
It's placer spread out
It's not like a life vein
I know where that is...not saying either!
@@californiamotherlodeprospect because if you told us
And it was true
People would no longer think you were full of shit
