Wow that's on a new level of crawling saw one yesterday in person yesterday. They are impressive but lacking in a few departments but it's new and I'm sure the after market campiness are in the making of upgrades already. Can't wait to see what you do with this one, keep up the good job love that Sam was out and watching also there a good companion to have around.
Good driving video as always :) I'm doing a 2.9 Hyrax, bec, servo, Vitavon in the air (shock towers, servo mounts and sliders). We'll see how we get on after that.
Awesome I want one so bad, but the monies not there this year, between LMT gravedigger and then the early bronco yeah we have to wait . That’s OK they they work out some kinks appreciate you sharing is always always loves your videos till next one happy trailer and rock on
Betcha didn't think when you said "maybe someone will have stiffer foams for this by then" that 2 years later you'd be making and selling printed inserts for it. Life is a crazy unpredictable thing when you aren't afraid to try new things.
Hahahahahahahahahaha Sam is to funny!!!! Our cats love to chase my Scx24s in the house, they swat at them trying to knock them over. This is such a cool and interesting rig. I'm not sure if I want to get one or not.
I’m looking forward to the build as well and seeing more of it torn down so we can see how it works. Can you put diff gears in it as opposed to a spool? I’d love to make this a monster truck. A bit more multi purpose rather than a straight crawler. The new Kyosho USA 1 does tick a few boxes in that regard but it doesn’t crawl not having a selectable transmission and is too fast for the chassis design in my opinion. Other option would be a trx4 monster conversion, but delete the portals for a more realistic look.
Awesome video..! I'm new to crawling but gotta say you have some great skills.. I have a stock Axial c10 to start with and it's pretty cool.. This SCX6 is a Beast..!
great video Joe! I like that Sam made an appearance. The truck ran great and there is a market for this behemoth, the first run is sold out. I have to wonder if Axial is trying to compete with the Traction Hobby "Cragsman" 1/8 scale? As far as price, your average 1/10 crawler will price out about $1k, RTR or Kit, when all the basic upgrades are done. 🙂
@@ExocagedRC Nah, that thing is a 1/10 with frame extensions dating back when Redcat just rebadged HSP stuff. If they do another in the future it might be interesting though, seeing how they have an ex-Axial guy running the shop now. (You can see they went leaps and bounds between the release of the Gen7 and Gen8 already)
@@ExocagedRC Probably my next RC, i like the green one a lot! cant wait to see available upgrades, Treal has already some images out, what about Vitavon?

Nice running test, i'm thinking (Axial) should shrink this truck to (1/8 scale) next year, but (SCX6) is too big for, (Not) my liking of it, should you buy expensive parts in (China?) It"s very expensive market for the Big one. Remember (REDCAT CLAWBACK), the company (Discontinued) the product, it wasn't very good, but it has issues with the electronics back then, I'm sticking with (1/10) and (1/8) scale line for me, but Not (1/6). (Grade B-)
Ok, it looks awesome out there, and it's capable.. it has potencial to be even better as a crawler (maybe)...I get it as a scalers wet dream...I'm sure that is where the aftermarket will go. But besides that, I still think its way to big to be that all round RC that you're always getting to. Take a SCX24...even a flip flop is an obstacle, a stack of books can be a chalenge and you can have a blast with it in your dinner table. This beast, on the other hand, if you do not have a quarry on your back yard, your stuck, you'll need to have a panel van, or a trailer just to carry it around from point A to point B... it's all an event ! Has you said, size matters...and you are absolutely right! But this is borderline unreasonable ! At this size, considering all you have to do just to have a go at it (or maintaining/upgrading it) a used "real" beater might be a more sensible proposition. But then again, I can be wrong ! Cheers mate ! Sorry for not being capable of understanding this niche... Keep it up
@@ExocagedRC Yeah, that thing is impressive. The balancing act it did was cool. It needs front end weight, not that it isn't already heavy enough at 25lbs haha
Looking forward to see what you do for steering mods. It's the one area I'm not happy with mine. It lacks power, but seems like it's not getting full throw even on just flat land. Other than that, I love it! Been wanting a large scale crawler since I got into this hobby. I did spin my preload all the way up to the shock caps. The springs a clearly longer than shock bodies, there's still tension on them to stay in place. That dropped it like 1/4" or lil more. Been thinking about dropping pinion down to have it the same speed as my 1/10s in 2nd and ultra low 1st.
The 2.9 hyrax fits just fine. Problem is the compound is a lot stiffer and doesn’t conform to the rocks like the soft stock tires. It doesn’t climb as as the stock ones
The manual says to never change gears while at a complete stop or at high speeds. It advises to change gears while at low speeds. Anyone care to share some knowledge on this?
3 or 4 years ago, i had an 8th & a quarter scale crawler. Ppl laughed so hard when several of US asked about a comp for our bigger scalers. Then, 3 years later, horizon invents a crawler, that is already OBSOLETE!
I am 💯 happy with this scx6. Mine showed up yesterday and videos and photos do not do it justice. It is such a capable rig.
i cant wait to see these in the future, and the belly dragger builds and so much more
Well these will make Thor look small! LoL
Pretty cool. I can’t wait to see all the Vitavon goodies you put on. Awesome video as always Joe.
Great to see one finally on a crawling course!

I’m impressed with mine.. make sure you tighten the slipper nut !! Mine was very loose right out the box..
Yep I did that in the first video
Holms hobbies also did a great vid on the eec and running it
Scx6 looks huge on that shelf!
Yeah it sure is
Steering servo diffinitly suspect ! BIG FACTS

I don't know if you have herd of . West desert whelers. Logan just got one also. He was impressed. Have a look. Awesome truck.
Logan’s to easy on his crawlers! if it last exo more than a ride you know it’s good!🤣
@ Slys Plastering Sly101 Don't think Logan got one. Pretty sure he said he was just using it for the day to try it out and make some vidoes.
Very impressive for the size it is, great video Joe. 👌

I haven’t made it into the diffs yet but maybe the aftermarket can do something but I wouldn’t expect it any time soon.
Beast servo coming up. I guess it does fit the ramp
Yeah and barely. Got a few lower cost mods to the steering before I put one of those in there
Lol stiffer foams best get the foam that came with phoenix kit. I have had many kits and never gotten foam that stiff. Thanks for the video.
These are 2.9” wheels with 7” tires. I doubt we have foams for these yet.

Perfect RC , its crawling very nice …. What kind of motor is it Sir?
It’s a large rebranded version of the Hobbywing Axe. Rebranded to Spektrum. Hobbywing makes all of the spektrum esc’s now.
Shoehorn one of reefs new 5th scale servos into the SCX6 🤷♂️
It’ll happen but I have a few more steering mods I want to do before that. There are other issues with it.
I believe it comes with an adapter plate already for a 5th scale servo. Reefs Beast 2000 should turn the wheels
