My father was from Stoke on Trent (Newcastle-under-Lyme). He emigrated to Canada after WWII. He is buried in Canada. Although Canadian born and raised, and now retired, all the English names and your accents tug at my heart. There are more than a few moments when I imagine selling up and finishing life on a narrow boat. Beautifully filmed, wonderful music, information and banter. Stay well.
Shaun's laugh is so addictive, and Colin has some great historical facts. This makes this really enjoyable to listen too (and watch a bit) while I'm working.
fantastic great laugh stunning filming of the fantastic countryside in that part of the world ,dillon had a swim and looked doomed when he was hosed down ,,your both fit and well and in a safe place stay safe,, ,if you see our patients take a turn for the worse and are being taken to i c u,,the fear on their faces is dreadful ,and we forget what normal is ,its great to watch your videos as this will end everything ends ,and we will all be out and about again thank you for helping us to see what is to come keep well and keep up your videos ,they help lift the spirits thank you ,
Great vlog guys. Some wonderful footage once again, and enjoy the history and local knowledge you give us. Drone footage is brilliant and very well edited. I really appreciate the hard work that goes into these videos. Stay safe guys, and enjoy the lovely surroundings. Good times.
Greetings from Sweden. I just lööööve the bits of fact's you put into the videos! Great job! Very glad i found this channel. It have made my self isolation a little easier. Thank you so much! All the best! /Cheers
Just ordered my official Foxes Afloat mug yesterday , can't wait for it to arrive. Over the years I've collected mugs to represent special moments in time for me, some mugs are over 30 yrs old. When your mug arrives it goes right to the top of my favorite's, my Sunday morning coffee mug. Keep up the fun boys!
Hi guys .. in these precarious times of madness and mayhem...your brilliant vlogs, quick wit and upmost charm ...keeps us sane.. thank you for just being you. Love ya.
Shaun is always in a 'perky' mood and his laugh is so contagious(Colin is just loopy....good loopy). No matter how I feel at the start, by the end of your vids I'm feeling better.
Barry says a hundred vlogs of envy. We say a hundred vlogs is shear joy and hope for many more, truly enjoyed your journey so far. Hope you continue to share the journey with us all. A privilege to watch. Xx💛💛
To stop your glasses misting/steaming up, put a drop of shampoo on the inside lens on your glasses and rub over and polish in with a soft cloth (or tissue). works on bathroom mirrors as well.
Beautiful weather. Beautiful scenery. Colin’s superb vision with many reflections. What more could you want! Oh I know. Dillon’s tail wagging 24 yo the dozen. He sure seems to be happy with canal life.
stay safe guys, love the vids. Anzac day here in Australia remembering our soldiers past and present.our fallen i should say.i needed a laugh and thank you so much.
Thanks Boys. Your Vlog could not have been better timed for my wife and I. We were previously schedule to be on a flight tonight heading for London in the morning. Our Hire boat cruise was to leave out of Rugby on Saturday and head south through the Norton Junction and down the Oxford. Watching the two of you and your antics, cruising the same canal we still intend to sail down made us smile. Our first night out would have been in the same area. This has just reinforced our desire to visit once all this crisis is behind us. We have spoken with ABC Boat Hire and they are holding our reservation until it is safe to travel. No hurries and I raise my whiskey glass to the two of you.
I'm sure it won't be long until they reopen the hire boat businesses. At least you'll have an idea of where you're going and pick up some nice places to moor up. You'll be taking photos - "This is where Colin was sunbathing starkers for a week!" 😂🤣😂🤣
No worries, one or two days of rain will wash the starkers off the tow path. I will make a plaque and mount it along the path in the middle of the secluded section of canal that reads. "Warning, Colin's clothing optional area"
Thank you guys for your sightseeing videos. I really enjoy them. You two guys make me laugh every time! It is good for all of us who are on lockdown. I am here in Florida, USA. I found your videos about 2 weeks ago. I especially like the old history and the bits of trivia that you give us about the sights around you. You guys take care and don't leave off the Outtakes from your videos please. Love both of your characters.
OMG< you guys are just so bad, but so much fun to be around. Loved the clip and the History lesson. Not so hot on the Science lesson about Buffalo. And poor Dillion took a swim. Lucky the hose was handy, keeps that yucky water from giving him a dose of something. Neve knows what is floating along in those canals. Now to the haircuts. My Dad was a Barber/Hairdresser for many many years. He even used to do the haircuts for the guys onboard HMAS Australia between 41-46. He would always say, the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut was about 3 weeks LOL A special thanks to Shaun for his laughter, keeps us smiling to har that wonderful laugh. Stay Safe everyone. We are in this thing together.
Haha oh i like you pair, Shawn's laughing is so contagious! I'm very much like Colin and struggle but seeing you both laugh is so heart warming, Shawn might not say much but he laughs at everything and so i laugh too so thank you both. Really love this adventure of yours.
Thanks for the weekly escape from Lockdown. Great photography comment and humour. Watching with my Cocker Spaniel, Monty, and thinking if he were there he would be swimming all of the time ! Stay safe and well and looking forward to the next video.
Congratulations on 100 vlogs! Loved the two swans as the locks opened! Such breathtaking & beautiful scenery & it's always so nice when you give some history of where you are, really interesting & very much appreciated! Thank you so much for your excellent videos! Please give handsome Dillon cuddles for me💖 Take really good care, stay safe!
You two are lovely people. That is what i do to what is left of my hair to. Hair cut like what shawn gave you, gives you more youthful look , that is why i like it plus feels better!
I've been following you for a few months and I've been vicariously enjoying your adventures. We took a week cruise on the Llangollen in September and fell in love with narrow-boating. We planned on renting again this coming September, but I guess that depends on the virus now. Anyway, you two are my favorite narrowboat fix. Sean is charming. Colin your head looks fine. Don't worry about the hat. I hope you all are doing OK with the isolation orders. I'm in Salem, Oregon isolating with my husband and grown daughter. We are all working (or schooling from home). We are allowed unlimited walking on the trail below our house and city parks provided we stay six feet away from others. I don't know what we would do if we couldn't walk in the woods. Staying in a narrowboat all day sounds dire. Please tell us you can spend most of your day outside. Stay safe boys.
Hey, Jenny 👋 You'll be glad to know we are moored in a lovely place, isolated from the nearest town by miles with only one person a day walking by the boat. The weather is also lovely so we're sat outside getting some sunshine. I'm really hoping the madness ends soon so you can rent again in September! Thanks about he hair, I love the feel of a grade 1 all over 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 xxx
cheers gents put a smile back on my face, been in lock down for a month I am under strict instructions not to go out, as far as I can go is my garden and a walk up and down the road about 100 yards, I am classed as at risk so I must be a good boy and its driving me right round the twist stir crazy take care stay safe keep well.
Ps I want a canal boat but I’m on the Pacific Coast of Canada, near the Fraser River, which is far too mighty for a canal boat. I envy you two! In a nice way. 🙂
HAPPY 100th vlog!!!...🎂🎂 Good decision, turned right, don’t wanna go to Braunston!!!....🙂🙃 Nice secluded mooring, been down there many times, there’s some lovely cruising, but even better mooring! Just the job for a spot of R&R. Obviously this was made before the stress fracture, or were you being a big brave boy Colin? I think it just shows the love between you two that even after Shaun cut your hair with the wrong size guard fitted, you fitted the right one to do his hair! - Love is not giving in to those urges to get your own back!!....💓💗💖 Lucky there was a water point just where Dillon jumped in!!! Nice and clean again.🐶
Hi Colin and Shaun, just to say, your video is so awesome, every time I watch your fantastic blogs, the both of you crack me up with your brilliant banter, stay safe and carry on being funny guys,
Oh . . . another Shamazing, chock full of laughs, hysterical video that put many a smile on my face and brightened my day ;) The one that really got me . . . "You look like you got National Health Glasses." ;) and "We did number one didn't we, when I looked in the mirror, I did number two." Oh, you had me on a roll there! And . . . as always, I love the history tidbits you dig up; the Napton Brickworks was quite interesting, especially when you can still see remnants of the landing along the canal. I also loved the old black and white photo of Shaun and his sister tied in to your snippet of the coal house and its use providing fuel for the water pump; these little details are so interesting. The drone footage of the Windmill was quite nice and being an American, I had to Google Windy Miller ;) The little details, the little nuances you edit in, as well as the fine music choices make your Vlog so interesting and exceptional. The story you tell in little things like taking away the trash, connecting the water hose, filming a family of ducks, firelighters and duck food for sale at a canalside honor shop and Dillon falling in the water . . . it all allows us to live vicariously through you, a peaceful and gentle life along the canal. I so look forward each Friday, to the joy you bring to so many lives, you two bless our world in your own highly comical, yet so intricately woven way.
Another brilliant vid. So glad you did that drone shot of the mill and the baby Bubalus bubilises. Sharp looking haircuts too. Stay safe you lovely vloggers
Thoroughly enjoy your videos. Educational--never knew this network of canals existed; scenic--wow, just WOW!; and you two are a real hoot, as we say here in the U.S. Dillon's swim feeds into a question I've wondered about for awhile--just how clean is that water? Obviously can't drink it--duhhhh, but is it polluted w/ fecal matter or industrial waste? Are there fish and are they edible? You let your dog swim in it and I've wondered for awhile now, do kids swim in it, too? I'm in the process of training an ox team and building a wagon. Plan to tour in that for a year or two starting May '21. I guess an ox drawn covered wagon could be considered our Yank equivalent to narrow boating
The water is generally quite clean, but it varies in each area. There shouldn't be any faecal matter but there's always going to be traces I guess, hence we always wash him afterwards.
Your content is always so interesting, Colin. It makes every Friday morning (where I am) such a pleasure. But, for me, the really outstanding part is how professional your productions are. Clearly, a great deal of effort is necessary to produce such top-quality entertainment, and I hope it provides a lot of psychic satisfaction for you both to express your creative sides. I intend to support your efforts through Patreon as soon as I can find a way to do so without incurring the (damnable) foreign exchange fee that my card tacks on. Thanks for producing such an outstanding vlog!
What a plaisure, your vidéos are a blessing! I'm fed up with this bloody corona-thing. You give so much joy. I almost forget this dark viruscloud. You two are the best vaccin there is! You deserve a "corona-tion" medal!!!! I love you both! Big hug from a dutch lady in France!
Oh no....I wasn't wearing my mask when you coughed into the camera. That's all my computer needs, another virus :) Sounds like you two are weathering the storm as well as you can. It's probably going to be a bit hard going to back to "normal", or some facsimile of it, when the hired boats get out and start swarming again. Stay safe and well!
The windmill has been painted, etc., since filming. It could just look like the site of you were not near that location. However, I thought the documentary mentioned a canal close to that house. Stay safe! 😎
Wiki: "The windmill home of Caractacus Potts is Cobstone Windmill, at Cadmore End on the B482 about four miles west of High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire". some ~50 miles from Napton mill, as the gooses fly.
100 vlogs congrats Foxy Boys, i have loved them all , you have become like good and dear friends, have a good weekend and a kiss for Dillon, greetings from Benjamin from the Netherlands 🕊🐶⛵💝
A welcome delight to view this video guys. Thank you. I am seriously contemplating your hairstyle Collin. It would solve the "bad hair days" issue for a while. Hmm... maybe I'll think about that a bit longer. I see your perfect moorings score remains perfect. Pat on the head for Dillon, hugs to you both. Remain well, strong and safe. K
During the week I finished all of your videos on the boat. Living with the realities of real time foxes releases will be a shock to the system, keep up the good work guys.
Mark and Frank from Michigan, US here. We love watching your videos. Here we use our motorhome to see the country, visit gay campgrounds and share stories and make new experiences. You are inspiration and a refreshing example of loving men loving men and new things together. Frank and I celebrate 49 years Oct 31, Happy Halloween guys!😏🤗
Hi Guys Colin, just love the hair, it's so butch, very Essex with the hat turned around. Shaun, you're not alone, Dave keeps stabbing me as well. Shaun, count to ten. lol
Weekly comedy gold, no disrespect meant. In these "fun" times, I so look forward to these vids on a Friday. I'll still be laughing tomorrow. Stay safe guys, we all need our entertainment on a Friday. Oh Dillon, you daft bugger lol.
Q: Do you know what the difference is between a good haircut and a bad one? A: about 10 days. 😁 I think the haircuts look great....I even used the "1" this time instead of my normal "2".
Congratulations VLOG NO :- 100 ...... well done boys ! And many more to come i hope . Were locked down here in NW Tasmania theirs been an outbreak of the virus at the NW Hospital , so i get to binge watch all your VLOGS all over again . Chin up better times to come Isabell .
Thank you, boys, for a very uplifting and feel-good post, you are definitely helping the housebound and lockins from boredom ... all I can say is thank heavens for the internet. Keep safe one and all.
You two just put a big smile on my face, I'm crying with laughter with the scene of you cutting each other's hair Colin fumbling his hands on Shaun's head made me remind of my experiences with barbers who aren't very delicate when cutting your hair
Thanks gentlemen ! Your videos always cheer me up . And if I do not laugh outright , at least make me snicker many times . You provide a great service , especially during lockdown . A thank you from all your viewers .
I love every one of your episodes!! I loved this episode, and I know that you make going through these locks look so easy, but I know it's a lot of work!! So happy that I found you on Amazon Prime and am now watching more on RUclips. Please know that you are bringing so much joy and enjoyment to me here in America. Catherine
I just found you gents. What fun! And history lessons too! And great drone work. Hey guys, it grows back. 😆 Colin, I have the occasional meltdown too (last week). Not any fun, but I try try to learn from the life lesson being presented. And it's nice to see someone shin light on it and know I'm not alone. We are what we are and we do the best we can with what we got.
Hiya Lovely Lads, another cracking blog Grommit ,as always super quality video and a great history lesson, but when you said the canal was finished in 1790........,that only 1/2 past six, please keep up the lunacy because i look forward to Fridays and they just wouldn't be the same without you two, Take care of each other, love as always Kristal xxx
Hi Guys. Greeting from Barnsley, South Yorkshire. Been watching you since we found you just before lock-down. We went back to Vlog No.1 - we have really enjoyed your journey so far! Until a couple of years ago we lived at the side of the Leeds-Liverpool near to Salts Mill so it was great to see you sail past!! Colin's curry made us go and order the Thermal cooker. It arrived yesterday. First meal? what else Colin's Curry of course. Followed the recipe exactly. Three hours later a brilliant curry. Thanks Colin! and thank you Foxes - keep on keeping on !!!!
Be careful guy's, I got sick last Friday with a fever and sinus pain. Thought I had the virus and at my age and health problems a death sentence may have been the results. My wife would be in the same predicament. Needles to say I was petrified. I was tested and fortunately the results were negative. Nasal infection was the diagnoses. The last time I was that scared was in Vietnam. Thanks guys for providing me with some entertainment to help me through that time. Love you guy's.
Dillon’s face when you washed him with the hosepipe was a picture. Brilliant yet again stay safe boys.x
So cute! Thank you! 👍🏻😛💜
Stay well.
Thank you, Ann. Take care! 😛👊🏻💜👍🏻🤣
Great video today. Collin your choice of music is so refreshing, thank you for brightening my morning.
Glad you enjoyed it
Shaun's laugh is so addictive, and Colin has some great historical facts. This makes this really enjoyable to listen too (and watch a bit) while I'm working.
Thank you!
AWESOME video !!!
Thank You for all the history and Great pictures and drone shots !!
Glad you enjoyed it
fantastic great laugh stunning filming of the fantastic countryside in that part of the world ,dillon had a swim and looked doomed when he was hosed down ,,your both fit and well and in a safe place stay safe,, ,if you see our patients take a turn for the worse and are being taken to i c u,,the fear on their faces is dreadful ,and we forget what normal is ,its great to watch your videos as this will end everything ends ,and we will all be out and about again thank you for helping us to see what is to come keep well and keep up your videos ,they help lift the spirits thank you ,
Yeah, we've only moved 3 times in 6 weeks and hardly at all for the last 3 weeks. Thank you! 👍🏻😛💜
Great vlog guys. Some wonderful footage once again, and enjoy the history and local knowledge you give us. Drone footage is brilliant and very well edited. I really appreciate the hard work that goes into these videos.
Stay safe guys, and enjoy the lovely surroundings. Good times.
Thanks, Gary. That means a lot. Have fun in isolation 😂
So peaceful out on the cut, you are so lucky and I'm envious. Another brilliant vlog, thank you boys. Keep safe x

Dillon was such a happy little dog. In nearly every shot, his tail was wagging furiously.
It never stopped 💜

Lucky there was a water point just where Dillon jumped in!!! Nice and clean again.🐶
Thanks, Graham! I had the stress fracture during this vlog but was early on and still trying to walk about without showing that I'm limping 😂
Working my way through your tales. Keep thinking about Dillon and wondering how you two are. Miss seeing you.x
We're ok, Ann. Getting there. xxxx
Love the history
I've learnt loads of history about our canals and surrounding areas from Colin
Hi Colin and Shaun, just to say, your video is so awesome, every time I watch your fantastic blogs, the both of you crack me up with your brilliant banter, stay safe and carry on being funny guys,
Always the lovely comments! Cheers, Anthony! Thank you! 👍🏻😛💜
Loved the Benny Hill bit during the haircut ... brilliant!
Classic
Lovely day for a cruise, and a great spot to hang out for a couple of weeks. Take care, and find beauty in each day.
Couldn't agree more! Thank you! 💜😛👍🏻
Napton on the hill reminds me of The Vicar of Dibley. You both look great with short hair!
I love the feel of short hair but don't like how I look with it 😂
Great to see you having a laugh guys, brightened my week up. Stay safe and well.
Thanks Callum. Loving lockdown 😂
Love your ways of telling a story .. thank you both for such a wonderful list of vlogs. Shaun needs to buy more pants lol
We agree! We both need more pants 😂

It's like you have got the whole world to yourselves, amazing! :)
It sometimes feels like that x
The only guys on RUclips that make the lockdown seem like fun. Love how you both make the most of any situation.
Got to live life!
So, you need both hands to have a wee! Very interesting. Love the vid.
😂

It's always our pleasure, Tao. Nice to see your comments each week too 💜 Thank you! 👍🏻😛💜
I cannot imagine a better way to be isolated during lockdown.
It was lovely!
You are so welcome. Sending love! 💜
Poor old Dylon, does he go in regularly? I can see you both look after him very well. Lovely life for a dog & where you are looks gorgeous.
He doesn't jump in much, mostly falls in by accident 😂
Thank guys! Another great visit with my mates on a boat. Have a great week[end]. Stay safe!
Thanks, you too!
It was a sneeze 😂 Haha! Take care, Bill 💜
Computers don't like viruses
You two sure have a way of brightening up a person's day during this pandemic lockdown and Dillion too :-)
THANKS !!
Wow, thank you!
I believe the house with the windmill is the filming location for part of Ian’ Fleming’s Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Really? 👍🏻
Thank you so much 😁

Aww, so sorry you had a bad day! Take care! 😛👊🏻💜👍🏻🤣
Foxes Afloat thank you so much💜
A welcome delight to view this video guys. K
Thank you lovely Kayte! Yeah, I'm loving grade 1. Gonna keep it 😂
Isolation, on a canal, in the middle of nowhere. Bliss.
💜
During the week I finished all of your videos on the boat. Living with the realities of real time foxes releases will be a shock to the system, keep up the good work guys.
Haha! Not moving much at the moment 👍🏻
Mark and Frank from Michigan, US here. We love watching your videos. Here we use our motorhome to see the country, visit gay campgrounds and share stories and make new experiences. Hi Guys

Stay safe guys, we all need our entertainment on a Friday.
Oh Dillon, you daft bugger lol.
Ah, they’re meant to be laughed at 😜
Q: Do you know what the difference is between a good haircut and a bad one?
A: about 10 days. 😁
I think the haircuts look great....I even used the "1" this time instead of my normal "2".
I love a grade 1! Thank you! 💜😛👍🏻
Shawn M Yes , a good one is when you still have ears after.
@@johnpollard4998 You are correct. 😄
Thanks for a great video. We have cruised along the Oxford canal a couple of times and your video brought back lots of happy memories
Hopefully we’ll bring back some more over the coming weeks (after lockdown)
I am surprised you haven't picked up a telescope as something to do at night especially from the middle of nowhere with little to no light pollution
Shaun would love that but he'd probably break it 😂
@@FoxesAfloat I have gotten frustrated with my telescope a time or too I wish we had a canal system like you do here in the states
Thank you - I've stood right there and admired the buffalo. Happy times. Great blog too 😊
Glad you enjoyed it. Take care! 😛👊🏻💜👍🏻🤣
Quite honestly, I know of no one who wouldn't like to see 2020 CANCELLED entirely.

Thank you! 💜😛👍🏻
Can't stop smiling😄Love the haircuts and banter💞
There’s nothing wrong with that haircut: looks fine
Thank you! 👍🏻😛💜
You two just put a big smile on my face, I'm crying with laughter with the scene of you cutting each other's hair
Colin fumbling his hands on Shaun's head made me remind of my experiences with barbers who aren't very delicate when cutting your hair
Haha! I loved it, Shaun hated it 😂
Great vision and audio very funny you guys definitely better than anything on television
Aww, thanks, Rob! That's very kind of you. Take care! 😛👊🏻💜👍🏻🤣
Thanks gentlemen ! Your videos always cheer me up . And if I do not laugh outright , at least make me snicker many times . You provide a great service , especially during lockdown . A thank you from all your viewers .

I have no idea about canal boats but was definitely pleasantly surprised that your water on board can last 2 weeks, another fab vlog guys Thankyou
Great to hear!
Hey 👋🏻 Welcome!
Hiya Lovely Lads, another cracking blog Grommit ,as always super quality video and a great history lesson, but when you said the canal was finished in 1790........,that only 1/2 past six, please keep up the lunacy because i look forward to Fridays and they just wouldn't be the same without you two,

@@FoxesAfloat thats half past 5
Yay! Welcome guys and well done on the catch-up and curry. Mmmmm.. curry 😋
This has got to be the best time to be on the canals. Warmer weather and no people! Beautiful drone work, again, lads.
Yeah, it's quite nice with it being so quiet, just unable to move when we'd like, only for essentials. Thank you 😛👍🏻💜
You guys have got such a lovely dynamic and way of being together, really enjoy your vlogs.
Thank you!
Ah, what a relief that you're okay! When you see where we are you'll realise we're gonna be fine. Take care both of you! xxxxx
