Shaun's Basic Shortbread Recipe:
300g Plain Flour.
100g Caster sugar.
200g Butter.
1. Mix the flour and sugar then rub in the butter.
2. Once crumbed, knead the mixture to form a paste.
3. Roll out until about 1cm thick.
4. Cut into whatever shape you wish.
5. Prick the top with a fork.
6. Place on a greased baking tray.
7. Bake at 160c (325f) for about 25/30 minutes.

Let’s face it, it seems Shaun does a lot of the day to day maintenance that a boat constantly requires, his Royal Navy training really comes in handy. You two make a great team, Shaun works the boat and Colin creates the delightful vlogs that takes the rest of us along for the adventure. Looking forward to next week and maybe a peek into Colin’s secret stash... but don’t hold your breath !

I think this was my favourite vlog of the series. Cruising videos are great, but my best memories of our time on a narrowboat are the mundane domestic things like cooking in the tiny galley, cleaning, turning the stern grease gland, and just living the relaxing daily life. You captured it very well. Thank you.

I absolutely love you guys attitudes and life on the boat. I’m very jealous, wish I could do this too but living here in. The states there is nothing like it. I am 40 and I have only ever left the country 3 times and all of them were to Mexico border town for day trips to the taco shop. Thanks for a glimpse of what the good life feels like.
