The covers and arrangements got her to here. We can recognise that she has the voice of a generation. Now, if she creates her own music then she is the complete artist.
Angelina took a very well known song of romance that’s gone bad and turned it into a haunting love song full on anguish. Not too shabby for a twelve year old.

Haunting, melancholic, pensive, loneliness, longing, rejection....how many adjectives are out there to describe how Angelina sings this song, or any of her songs for that matter? We are so lucky to witness the rise of Angelina Jordan.
Hi Daz, to me this is one of her most beautiful "covers" she has done. This is absolutely nothing like the original from Chris Isaac. Angelina created this as her interpretation of this song at 12-13 years old and it is simply stunningly beautiful. Many folks can not get pass the fact that this musical genius here will not do carbon copies of originals for the sake of "likes" of her music. She is light years ahead musically and it shows in her creative abilities to take any song and make it "New" for the listener. Cheers, stay well Daz,.... Dez out.
I came to realise that very quickly when I started to react to her covers and I think that is why I have been hooked ever since.
Chills, chills, chills 10 seconds in. This child does me in each and every song! I cant imagine an album with just originals, given her talent and ability to just kill covers. Or, maybe 2 albums, one with originals and one with covers.
This was certainly a song to develop chills. I really dont know anymore with her album. I have started doing her originals and now I am more confused than ever lol.

this is the best cover of this song ive ever heard, yes this is a fan made video, i believe Angelina was 11 yrs old here, she said she came home from school one day and started playing around with this soung and this is what she came up with, in my opinion its just as good as the original

There are not many 13 year olds around that can do what she does so it wouldnt surprise me if she ended up with the greats.

To me this is an underappreciated cover of hers, I play it at least once a week. Her new album is going to be incredible, no matter what the mix, I'm certain over half will be originals, maybe contain her first chart making song? Great reaction!
I really enjoyed this one but it hasnt been requested to me all that much. I think a lot of people are impatiently waiting to find out just what her album will be lol.
I sincerely think (this is purely no own opinion) that Angelina may be THE break-out artist of next years Emmys. That won’t happen with a large percentage of covers (although I would selfishly welcome an album of all covers).
@@Dazza010 I know on this last summers Norway tour is when her mother Sara gave us an idea when in 23 the album was going to be released, mid year? Is it also possible she said all original 🤔 songs? I'd have to look back on that part of the clip if I can find it.
Sune Amtoft (the video maker) was asked if he knew whether Angelina had heard/seen his video, and he reported that she had sent him something like “17 💪🏻 and 14 👍🏻“. Anyway, he was chuffed!! Well deserved praise imo.

I agree about the album. I will still wait in line to buy her first album no matter what the songs on it are. If it were all covers, I would be just about as excited as if they were all new. As long as I'm alive and able, I will purchase every album this young lady releases. She just touches me so deep with everything she sings. I spent the first 4 days of the New Year in the hospital and when I got home I listened to her IG video of "Purple Rain". I was never a Prince fan and had only heard bits and pieces of his original, but as soon as Angelina started singing the 'Purple Rain' line, it brought tears to my eyes.

@@alberttenfoot, One day at a time, and each one filled with listening to the voice of our Barefoot Angel. That is helping a great deal. They said I tested positive for Covid, but that I didn't have any of the symptoms except being extremely tired. I was severely dehydrated and my kidneys were as close as possible to needing dialysis but I got there in time to prevent it. Doctors visits, lab work, and rest should have me back to healthy in a week or so. 🤞They said the extreme tiredness could last up to 3 weeks. Luckily I was visiting my oldest daughter and she is taking great care of me. I'll keep listening to Angelina and let her lift my spirits. She's been doing a great job too. Thanks for the comment.

I concur with your comments about “Purple Rain”. I’m a bit more familiar with the song, and I think it belongs on the list of great rock classics. Having said that, Angelina once again transformed the song into a totally new piece of art and I am longing to hear it performed in its entirety.

I don't dare to second guess the wisdom and proven experiences of Republic Records nor Angelina's proven musical instincts. But I do agree with you that the album will, hopefully, contain not only her originals but also covers -- and for the same basic reasons you have expressed! As someone who's been around for several decades, I would tend to be more drawn to the album if I saw titles with which I was already familiar, then delight myself with her originals as well.

Angelina's covers almost always share the characteristic that they are "big" songs. IMO, Angelina uses these very well-known high-quality platforms to test herself and see what she can add to them in a high-stakes environment (for instance, covering Bohemian Rhapsody at 13yo and changing it completely before an American audience and in front of Simon Cowell is a high stakes endeavor)! I have no idea what her album might contain but it is safe money to bet that it will be excellent.
To test herself in front of the world like that was incredibly brave from her and it is them characteristics as an adult that will help her succeed.

Hey, Daz. I love this song, and I think her cover is great, because I really like her voice no matter what she sings. She doesn't rush the song. I like that she plays her own accompaniment. It shows her development as a musician with arranging and composing skills. She really has amazing breath and tone control. I think it is a fan made video from something of hers. I have to run. Something's wrong with the toe that just had surgery. Not sure I'll get back. Thank you. Grandma Ellen

Angelina released her version of Bohemian Rhapsody on January 24th, 2020 under her own label ANGELINA JORDAN INC. shortly after Angelina celebrated her 14th birthday. (to date almost 10 million listeners on Spotify alone) 👣💯 *AJ* 💯👣
I think she ought to put out two albums. One with original songs and one with cover songs. I’m certainly no marketing expert but I’m sure all involved will introduce her in a brilliant way. They’ve got a great track record so far.
Yup, I wasn't wrong. Hard NOT to like that slow rendition, SO full of emotion. By a 12 year old. I'm not too sure about her age here, but she looks 12. Maybe someone else knows for sure.
I have to agree with you , at least to some extent, that a mix would be great for her, and that it possibly could make it easier for her to reach more people. But I take a lot of comfort not just in her voice and skills, but also in the fact that the Norwegian producer duo Stargate most probably will be involved as well. And if so, all it takes for Angelina to blow up is ONE song. And if there is a producer that can make it happen, it's Stargate. Not sure if you're aware of their resume, but do check them out. I think you will agree that Angelina and those guys is a DANGEROUS combo. Dangerous as in dangerous for the rest of the field. I would be totally chocked to my core if that colab hasn't happened tbh. It surely must have. I absolutely believe that that album will have the potential to have several songs reaching the charts. We already know that Angelina has the voice. ALL she needs is a little help. But who knows, maybe the biggest block buster will be one that she's done all on her own? Nothing with Angelina is impossible. She has proven that beyond doubt. It will be extremely exciting and totally nerve wrecking at the same time. I'll bring some extra oxygen and a defibrillator that day. My wife is an intensive care nurse, so I should be safe. Hopefully. If not I'll die a happy man.

It is always handy having a ICU nurse in your corner lol. Angelina has so much potential when it comes to her music and if that collab is there it could see her skyrocket. That is what I would like to see. I havent been a fan of hers for very long but in the short time I have been I can see that she has worked hard since she was very very young to get to the point where she is now. Interesting to hear your thoughts Daz and I like the way you are going about exploring Angelina's videos. This is one of my favourites, but not so many have reacted to it lately. She always gets me by the second 'with you'. I'd never thought much of the song or lyrics until I heard this cover, but then Angelina achieves this with many of her covers. She always finds and conveys meaning and emotion in the lyrics, often in a way the original did not. California Dreaming (in her Donald Duck top!) is another great example, one for which she received praise from The Mama's & The Papa's (at 12yrs for heaven's sake!). As for the forthcoming album, I think you are right, but being a superfan of Angelina's I just hope it's what she wants it to be, 100% :)
Angelina made me want to listen to the lyrics of this song more than the original ever did and that has been the case for a few of her covers that she has done. For the album I think it will be what she wants 100%. From what I have been told it is the reason why she signed with RR.

Releasing two albums seems to be the way everyone wants it to go although I dont see that happening lol. This was an incredible performance though backed up by an amazing fan made video.

I agree completely with you about Angelina's covers, Daz. She has a genius for finding a new meaning in a song and communicating it. I like her originals, but really interesting covers do just as you say: they rope in fans of the song and introduce them to a new artist. Great reaction.
The covers really can help targetting more potential fans but I guess it is just a waiting game to find out how AJ & RR decide to go.

Angelina’s upcoming album is about HER songs… about HER work. She is so well known for her cover songs that I think her album WILL contain songs from other artists, but I don’t think there will be more than two of them on her “debut” album. …IMO. 😉

I think having two cover songs on a new album would be more than enough just to rope in some fans but I am more than happy with the rest being originals.

Daz please increase your support for the featured artist by encouraging viewers to watch the original video and to subscribe to the artists channel. Angelina has two channels, Official and Cover. I am confident with you taking a few seconds to verbally encourage both your channel and that of the artist, you will get many more subscribers.
It is never intentional Andy. To be honest usually by the time I have finished listening to another performance of hers I am lost for words lol. I will try my best to remember adding it to the videos.
@@Dazza010 Thanks for your reply. I suggest you find a way to make the pitch for your channel and the artist standard procedure. Some use a text message at the start of the video and therefore you don't have to remember.
Why cant we have a double album? One originals and one covers. Maybe RR don't want the impression she's a cover artist on their first release.
A double album would give Angelina plenty to sing on tour to support the album.

Not keen on this song but the performance is tremendous.
I was never really the biggest fan of the song but really enjoyed her singing it. The original is not really for me though.
Even though I think it's time to get rid of the "cover-artist" label completely, I am nervous about an album of solely consisting of original songs but only if by 'original' they mean self-penned. There's only so much a 16-year-old can write about that the adult consumers her paymasters will be relying on buy her album want to hear, especially since Angelina seems to be what I'd call a first person writer. She's an empath, so may prove to be able to write from a third person perspective but I hope original means songs by full-time writers maybe with a few collaborations and one or two Angelina specials.
I dont think that cover artist label will disappear until she starts releasing more and more originals. When it comes to originals there is nothing wrong with her singing original songs that are written for her by others. There are some killer song writers out there that can write some great songs for her.
She does not do covers. She uses them as a framework and makes her own versions. Is her AGT Bohemian Rhapsody a cover?

Mark Ronson, who produced the song, gave the original track to Angelina after they met, I believe, in London when she performed for Quincy Jones' birthday celebration at the 02 Arena. Someone may correct me but anyway the cover is one of her best. I think Angelina will have all originals and expect one of them to hit the charts. If that happens she will not need cover songs. After she becomes established I would love to see an entire album devoted to covers, something many artists have done. Take care Daz!
I really do hope that she has some hits in the charts this year and that her popularity begins to soar. A bright start with originals songs goes a long way but I dont think she will ever stop singing covers.
