That drill has a lot more torque than the motor did, but it runs a lot slower. If you could fit it, it would be cool to put a bigger prop on and see how much force you could pull (weight cell tied to a tree)
A power plant trick. A pipe threader puts out an insane amount of torque a low rpm. They sell a 1" square drive die. It would for sure turn that tractor motor.
Lol. Loved the joke. I fell for it. Was thinking, boy he has something there. In all reality, I imagine they would do really well with a electric motor.
You should try a adapt a grinder up to the boat motor next to get that prop spinning some serious rpms. I bet a 4 1/2" would work but if not Milwaukee does make a 7"-9" 18v version. Probably would be faster then it ever would be with the orginal gas engine.
The drill is geared down, but the angle grinder is geared up, so more suitable rpm out of the box. No need for the reduction gear box used as an overdrive
I watched one where a woman took the head from a dead angle grinder and just hooked up a drill to it with a little modifications. But the thing is, she had just a shitty off brand drill and it went just as good as his did. So maybe the gearing in the angle grinder head helped.
This was pretty awesome. It'll get you around the lake for fishing no problem as long as you use the small battery first and the big one to get home. Once the fishing trip is over you still have your drill for work. Seems like a win on multiple levels to me.
I remember The very first whole hog I ever used was the original and I wrap myself up in it at the age of 16 years old and I will never forget that because it absolutely annihilated me threw me across the room 😂 and made me absolutely terrified of them but they have improved over the last couple of years and they’re safer than they have ever been
Anytime I feel like my shop is a giant mess, I can pull up videos like this one to feel better. I'm not saying my shop looks any cleaner - just that I'm not alone. :)
My dad always kept his shop pristine and would yell if I left ih any other way. Now when he comes to my Shop I go out of my way to messy it up just to rile him up 😂😂
Someone should really invent a battery-powered motor for a boat. Maybe have it swivel so you could use fishing lures at the same time? I'm surprised no one's invented that yet.
I can really appreciate the big projects you do, but these projects are pretty dang cool too, I'd like to see you run a power-generator off of an electric motor, if it can be done, you'd probably be the one who could find a way, BTW, that ending was funny-n-clever,👍 thanks for sharing.
Damn, you could go skiing behind that thing now ... well, maybe a squirrel could. Nonetheless, that looks like an awesome use for that battery powered device! :o)
That drill isn't even working.. Maybe find a compact planetary on aliexpress with a 2 or 3:1 reduction..That drill will have WAY more torque then the boat motor did especially in 1st gear.. maybe even a 4/5:1 planetary. LOL I was typing that as you fast-fowarded a year.
What are those, 10s[mm]? I gotta find my 10mil. I'll be back in an hour... [much, much later] Okay, so it's 4 hours later and I found my 10... That alone, was worth the price of admission.
Me typing a comment about stepping up to a 2000 rpm M18 with an upside down gear reducer before hearing “If you make it go way faster” before checking how much video was left 🧐🧐🤦♂️…🗿
An Angle Grinder might be more suited for this application.. or a pair of oars.. o.O Maybe a bigger propulsion assembly off a larger outboard.. Maybe the electric motor out of a Ryobi 40v lawn mower...
I own this drill... it is a monster... Its heavy and awkward at times but it will run a 2.5" switchblade self feed bit hough a 5 stud pack like it wasnt even there.. I have never stalled it out... it will just rip through anything. Just mind your wrists bud...
if that drill spins a 1500 rpm then you could do some rearing ( or with a belt and pulleys ) to bring up the out put rpm. the torque the the drill has would probably be enough... I'd love to see if it's possible
Weld a 17 or 19 millimeter lug nut or bolt that way you can just be a man and take the whole tool bag and just strong arm it the whole time😂 To many RUclips safety precautions🤣
Those hole hogs Those things have power they can hurt you I have one I recommend using the handle on the side I think and easily break your wrist What made you think of doing that that's really cool
So use the impeller that is on any motor over 5.5 hp and have it pump water up through copper or stainless tubing you wrap around the motor in a coil to cool the electric motor and you can run all day.
Hey Milwaukee, how about an M18 FUEL Outboard Motor for the next Pipeline Tool Symposium?
im not there yet but did ya cut the lower unit shaft and weld the right sized socket for the reduction shaft?
yup
Motorized bicycle/motorcycle for sure!!!!!!

So this is what you’ve been doing instead of working on the f-350
This looks like a job for an angle grinder!
Nha angle grinder isn’t geared.
@@mikeznel6048 yeah they are. ring and pinion. probably around a 4-5 reduction in any grinder.
7" angle grinder, who needs torque when you got like 8,000 rpm.

be to slow to start it. it would turn it for sure.
No
Turning that shaft into a 3/8 drive WAS genius
Why ?
It made it very easy to disassemble seeing as it wasn't meant to be permanently attached

Nice catch on the "F" bomb @ 15:08, lol.
“I CUT THIS BOAT MOTOR IN HALF TO SHOW YOU THE AMAZING POWER OF FLEX SE…….” Milwaukee power tools?
What was so funny was that you left in the leaf blower sound and could actually see the nozzle. Loved the episode.

You can only spin a propeller so fast before it starts cavitating.

Did a bigger prop occur to you? You have tons of torque and no speed. Figure out how to mount a bigger prop and it would be golden!
You need a gas powered angle drill for that boat.
🤣
@@nicklikesradio Finally.....someone who shares my sense of humor on that one. It could be a good "V8 angle drill" episode. Cheers.

The leaf blower was hilarious. Great episode. I did laugh out loud.

I use a trolling motor on my canoe all the time. Gets me up to a decent enough speed with none of the noise of a gas engine.
Awesome, at least you have a light on the drill to hook the keys on the bottom of the lake.
Play safe from Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada.
Good thing it wasn't your Vice Grip hat! 😁
THIS KINDA REMINDS ME OF FLEXSEAL BOTTOMLESS BOAT WITH A ELECTRIC DRILL WOW🤣
The leaf blower bit was classic and fully had me. I was surprised and a bit confused at the speed at first 😆.
I use a Milwaukee mud mixer as my auger for ice fishing. I wonder if that would do the trick.
I got that and the M18 12.0HD big boys. Now I'm looking at my boat with the broken motor think back to fishing lol😂❤
Drilling holes is tough. Fishing is easier.
You can change gear ratios with different sockets now!
Find an original hole hawg, no clutch, hang on!

That would be way less efficient than just using a battery to charge things. You would lose energy to friction, heat as well as sound and vibration.
I don't understand the point? If you already have power for the electric motor why spin up a generator?
Next year: Can we water cool a Milwaukee Super HAWG and make our boat go faster for longer?
Don’t you lose that VGG hat…
I love that you find the time to do silly projects like this.
I thoroughly enjoyed your video! I like the serious ones too, but this was a fun diversion. Regarding the dozer, could you try a race car starter?

You know there's a whole lake of nice, refreshing water there to keep your drill cool next year.
You may have just created the single greatest trolling motor concept of the past 100 years.

Gee, it's too bad you aren't posting anything about the Cummins Silverado or the Cat F-350. Come on...
You should have installed a bigger prop. Electric motors have such high torque. The boat would be so fast, your hair would be blowing in the wind.
LMFAO - you did have me going for a while - it took all of 20:28 mins to see you were fooling about!
Excellent! I had a good laugh!
You could probably run a 6 blade prop with all the torque the Milwaukee has......scoot along even faster
