  • Meet Litter-Robot 4, the revolutionary pet care appliance.
    Litter-Robot 4 eliminates the chore of scooping, reduces litter tracking, and traps odors.
    After your cat exits, Litter-Robot starts its cleaning cycle. As the globe quietly rotates, Litter-Robot's patented sifting process and design separates the dirty clumps from the clean litter, which are deposited into a large-capacity, tightly sealed waste drawer below.
    The integrated OdorTrap system neutralizes stubborn litter box odors.
    Litter-Robot's multi-cat design is suitable for up to four cats and features a wide opening for maximum cat comfort, appealing to cats of all breeds and sizes.
    Omnisense detection utilizes laser and weight sensor technology to provide real-time litter and waste drawer levels, as well as cat recognition. Omnisense also supports the SafeCat system, which continuously analyzes four safety zones to ensure your cat is always safe.
    The strategically placed EasyRead control panel has an LED display to indicate the current status of the robot, as well as easily accessible buttons for manual operation.
    The Whisker app can be used to view real-time waste drawer and litter levels, track litter box usage, and receive alert notifications such as irregular bathroom activity and when your Litter-Robot is full.
    To empty the waste drawer, simply remove the liner and install a new one. Litter-Robot is built using modular components that allow for simple deep cleaning and fast reassembly.
    Its sleek form and compact size takes up no more floor space than a large litter pan, allowing you to place the Litter-Robot appliance anywhere in your home. And with its patented design, you can continue to customize your Litter-Robot as we continue to release additional accessories.

    I have 2 LR3s and even though I've had issues with them being finicky (just like some of my cats), it's still worth the money for me physically (I have Fibro and the constant scooping is hard on me). Customer Service has also been great with the company (recently sent me free parts when the sensor stopped working). However I'm fighting with my one again. Doesn't want to work in the dark. The same one that had the sensor replaced. I'll get it fixed though eventually. The LR4 looks nice but that price tag is just way too much. The LR3 already cost too much. Maybe the price will come down one day though.

    • @HighFlyinAFGuy
      @HighFlyinAFGuy 2 года назад +3

      I’ve had that problem too with it not working in the dark. Has to do with that sensor by the on/off button that dictates whether the light inside comes on or not. I eventually just found a cheap led light and rigged it with its own light sensor so it turns on at night, thereby allowing the sensor on the LR to think it’s receiving enough light to operate. I hate the cost of the LR4, but I’m going to bite and get it hoping they’ve fixed the many issues I’ve had with the 3. Was still glad for the 3 though, as I wouldn’t have cats without it.

    • @Ancyker
      @Ancyker Год назад +1

      I had the original and when it died I replaced it with the 3. The sensors in the 3 were awful for me. It required constant intervention which completely defeats the purpose. It would say the drawer was full when it was empty and randomly wouldn't detect when the cats used it. Support was responsive but ultimately unhelpful as their suggestions to fix it did not remedy the issues long term. I'm eyeing this new one as the sensors not only appear to be in different places but there seem to be multiple. Maybe it will work better...
      I wish they'd bring the original back. It had its issues but overall it worked. It mostly just didn't work well for bigger cats but my calicos were fine. I think I was a fairly early adopter as well since I didn't see anyone talking about it at the time and now I see it everywhere.

      I recently bought a brand new refrigerator that broke down shortly thereafter, and then a brand new hot water tank that needed repair shortly thereafter. I'm afraid to buy anything else that can break, as that seems to be a likelihood these days. Also, how much are the replacement bags, the ongoing cost of ownership? And what if one of the cats it is intended for realizes that it has a motor and moves sometimes, and just doesn't want to use it? Then you may have accidents in the home, requiring a regular litter box anyway.

    • @kathleenanne1718
      @kathleenanne1718 8 месяцев назад

      When I first got mine in April 2023 the plastic litter bag would need to be replaced 2X per week. I would put new one in on Sunday a.m. and Wednesday p.m. but lately it shows full after only a day and a half or so when I know for a fact there isn't that much used litter in that bag. So I open the drawer, take a half sheet of typing paper, lay it on top of the accumulated litter and push down to flatten the used litter as much as possible, then close the drawer & hit the reset button. That will usually have the machine go from showing 75% to 90% full down to about 30%. I do that 1 or 2 more times before I take the litter bag out & completely replace it.

      It's not the pinch detection (at least in my case) but the poorly designed feet and that cause it to wobble due to the jerky rotation of the motor. This sets off the cat reentry timer so it tries to move slightly every few minutes then gives up and stays flipped over.
      You might be able to put a different surface under it (in my case a low pile rug helped) or just fill the litter a bit less so there's less weight off center. Also seems to help if you push reset after filling it before it tries to cycle again.

    How much litter should you fill the Litter Robot 4? Is there a limit, or could you add as much as you like to make it last longer? By the way, I love the white color. It looks so much sleeker and Apple-Esque, and I’d imagine doesn’t show dust as much as a black one would. ❤️

    • @LitterRobot
      @LitterRobot  Год назад +5

      Hello! There's a raised line inside of the globe. We suggest keeping it filled up to that line, which is about 8-10 pounds of litter. Be careful not to overfill the globe. Since the waste clumps are removed during each cycle, there is no need to put excessive litter in the globe. Thank you for your feedback on the design! We've found that dust doesn't really show up on either model since the globe liner is a light grey color, but the amount of dust in general can change depending on the brand/type of litter used. Please let us know if you ever have any other questions! 😺

    I recently got LR4. It is my 1st LR. Given that I have 2 cats, this seems to be a promising product. I no longer have to dread scooping twice daily and the weekly routine of thoroughly cleaning the litter boxes. That said, there are two observations that seem worrisome:
    1) the poop sticks to the rubber interior walls of the globe. I tried manually scraping it off (which somewhat defeats the purpose), but it still didn't get cleaned properly. Is there a way to prevent and correct this situation?
    2) the tray is hardly 50% full, but the indicator says 90%. Not sure why.
    Any insights from experienced users will be appreciated.

    • @LitterRobot
      @LitterRobot  Год назад +19

      Hi Jules! We'd be more than happy to help. Try increasing/decreasing the wait time setting to accommodate your litter. Clumps usually stick if they are too wet when the Litter-Robot cycles. If that doesn't do the trick, you might consider trying a different type/brand of litter.
      Also, please ensure the unit is placed on top of a hard surface that is not carpeted. Then, check that the sides of the bag in the waste drawer aren't too high up, as that might interfere with the sensor in the drawer. If you need further assistance, please submit a ticket at support.litter-robot.com/s/?language=en_US.

    Looks like the issue I've complained about isn't fixed even though a software update is all it would take. Is it just me or is the blue-flashing light for a full bin and red light for timing completely counter-intuitive. When I walk by and just glance at it, I would naturally expect to see a red light to indicate some issue that requires attention (full bin, or other error/fault), and that any blue light would mean everything is OK. So solid blue would mean just idle, and a flashing blue light would mean it's timing down until it cycles. The yellow lights work perfectly as I would expect. It probably doesn't help that I design interfaces for industrial machinery and am super picky about indicators like this, but after doing it for over 20 years, I've never designed a system where red would be used in a way like the way it works on the current LR3 and evidently the same on the LR4.

      You have been doing this for 20 years and couldn't figure out the red light indicates STOP, like a traffic light? Yellow is a caution, like a "caution your cat is in the crapper" "or caution dont touch me". Blue solid means everything is normal and blue flashing means safety systems are good (aka normal) but empty the crapper to return to functional solid blue status. At best I can see someone saying the blue light should be green so its fully in sync with a traffic light ideology. Maybe its just the engineer in me but I read the lights once, 5 1/2 years ago and have never forgot what they mean thinking of it this way. Solid is always good and flashing indicates an issue that needs to be addressed regardless of color.

    • @cybrstudd
      @cybrstudd 2 года назад +2

      @@BlueMax717 But the red light doesn't mean stop, it means a timer is counting down until it cycles. This would make much more sense as a flashing blue light with blue in general meaning everything is OK and that there's no need to stop and do anything. In other words of I see blue, I don't care if it's flashing or not, I know nothing is out of the ordinary requiring my attention. If it's red, I need to stop to intervene.

    So, after owning one of these devices for over 6 months, there are many issues not only with the device but also with the company. The app itself is a disaster as it barely works. Try to export a report in CSV or PDF format and it rarely if ever works. Not to mention all the blinking lights are nowhere described in the app whatsoever. How could they miss that? Why wouldn't you just put a troubleshooting area in the app so that users could decipher the lights? Just crazy.
    Also, you would think they would have some sort of support link or phone number or something in the app but alas, nothing there. You'll have to search on the internet to try and find how to get in contact with them and of course they work a few hours and are difficult to get a hold of.
    The product works okay for most the time but many times different lights start flashing and it quits working and you have no idea what's going on. I'm still looking for a good reference on what all the lights do.
    A huge issue is the compartment for the charcoal filter and or the fragrance crystals. It turns out, there really isn't a compartment for the fragrance crystals even though they want to sell them to you. I suspect you just take out the charcoal filter and put them in there but then of course you're missing the charcoal filter. I don't understand why there isn't room for both. Speaking of that compartment, frequently the little mesh cover for it comes loose and jams the whole system up and you need to take everything apart to get it to work. I probably have had this happen half a dozen times in the months I've had the product.

    I have the litter robot 3 and it works fine. We added another cat, who used it fine until he was full grown, around the size of a Main Coon. He is too long to fit inside the litter robot 3 and his butt sticks out wherein he pees and poops on the floor. I am so disappointed that the litter robot 4 is SMALLER inside. I now have to use a regular litter box that is long and enclosed and I am back to scooping twice a day. The litter robot 4 looks nice but the functionality for LARGER cats really misses the mark. A design that spins cat poop all around the inside. Leaving cat poop all smeared and stuck to the rubber………
    When your cat has diarrhea or just somewhat wet poop it sticks all over the inside of the machine because the machine is a cat poop spinner 😭

    • @LitterRobot
      @LitterRobot  Год назад

      We appreciate your feedback! Thankfully this usually isn't an issue, as the patented sifting process will cover waste with litter as it cycles.
      As always, we recommend using a high-quality clay clumping litter-especially if your cat is prone to diarrhea. You can also increase the amount of time (from 7 minutes to 15) between when your cat uses the Litter-Robot and a cleaning cycle begins. That usually does the trick!

    Is the actual litter bed smaller than the LR3? That would be a major downgrade for my cats.

      Hi! Litter-Robot 4 holds about 8-10 pounds of litter just like Litter-Robot 3.

    I feel like it's kinda bullshit that we create the cat box, a designated spot for the animal to do their business, but no such thing for dog's. I guess we just feel like it's okay for them to do their stuff outside and fill our yards? Anyways with this kind of technology we could've finally gotten something for dog's, but NO let's make the already easy cat box even easier! Seriously, what the hell...

    The drawer looks like it's not as wide as previous models but also looks like it might be deeper. Does it hold the same amount? More? Less?

    • @LitterRobot
      @LitterRobot  Год назад

      Hi! The Litter-Robot 4 has a deeper waste drawer and can hold more waste on average! It can vary by household, but with 1 cat you will typically empty the waste drawer about every 10-12 days.

    Does anyones cat accidentally poop on the floor because the entrance is so small? My cats seem to always miss the litter box and poop right off the side of it…

      @LitterRobot  2 года назад

      Hello! In our beta testing we have not really seen this happen. Litter-Robot 4 was designed with an enlarged entryway for ease of access. If you notice your cats' rear end faces the front when they use it, we have some tips and trick to help encourage them to turn around!

    • @LitterRobot
      @LitterRobot  2 года назад

      Here are some tips we’ve heard from others who have experienced this issue:
      1. Hang a washer/quarter/similar from a string at the inside opening of the globe. Make sure it is at a level where it will touch your cat's hind end when they enter the globe. This should cause them to turn around inside the globe because most cats do not like their rear ends touched.
      2. Similarly, watch for your cat to enter the globe and then touch their hind-end as they gets inside. This should cause them to turn around inside the globe.
      3. Watch for your cat to enter the globe and then put a treat on the outside ledge to get them to turn around.
      With any of these methods, they should get into the habit of turning around after a few times.
      I hope one of these does the trick for you!

    How does it tell who is who between the different cats using it?

    • @LitterRobot
      @LitterRobot  Год назад

      Hi Jeff! The Whisker App will report the cat's weight every time they use the Litter-Robot 4. We are currently working on this feature and an update that will allow Litter-Robot 4 to differentiate cats of similar size. Please stay tuned for announcements on our end!

    Would small pellet-style clumping tofu litter (Rufus & Coco Wee Kitty Eco Plant Clumping Cat Litter in particular) work with the LR4's sifting system? Or would the size of the tiny pellets prevent it from sifting properly?

    • @LitterRobot
      @LitterRobot  2 года назад +4

      Hello! Unfortunately pellets will not work with Litter-Robot 4. We tend to find the best results from an unscented, standard-weight clay clumping litter such as Litterbox.com.

      The one called "litter clean" (store brand) at Sam's Club worked best for me. It somehow even beats the name brands despite being quite a bit cheaper. The arm and hammer one worked ok but would break apart pretty often.

    Have you improved the noise when the machin is turning? I used your LR3 and it was quite noisy. We have a little appartement and the toilet is near our rest room. So I would like to know if you have improved it or it has the same level of noise as before? Thank you in advance.

      Hello, thank you for your honest feedback for the Litter-Robot 3. We have worked to make Litter-Robot 4 whisper-quiet compared to previous models! Plus, the Sleep Mode feature can keep the unit from running a clean cycle for 8 hours and is perfect for units that need to be kept in/near bedrooms.

      Hi! Litter-Robot 4 does not have an upper weight limit. To give you a better idea of the inside of the globe 15"-17" H (depending on litter level) x 19"W x 18" D.
