Have done this to my NX10, after watching your video I wish I had never started it. The 3M pads are different to what is shown. No problem getting the old pads off except one of the lugs has snapped off and gone into the radio, had to split the radio hoping that it will come out but no such luck. The new sides pads will not stick down in on spot and a lug will not fit into the hole no matter how much I push it, on the rear pads there is a very thin strip of tape that will not go in it's place. the glue pads are that thin that they can tear even before you have got them off the backing paper , and if you are not careful the sticky pad will stick before you can adjust anything and can not be removed. I have two area's on the radio that will not stick and a bulge in another pad where the lug will not push into the hole. The sticky tape is a bit to thin and cannot be moved about before finally it pressing down. To rectify the problem I will need to take them off and find some pads that will work. Hope you sell the pads by themselves which will make the job a bit easier. The part number if you want to look at them SPMA9612. This is the first major problem I have had with the radio's, would like to think it could be the last for a while. Perhaps you can update the video's for the NX series. Anyway on a better note , keep up with the very helpful video's and have a Merry Christmas.
I just replaced the grips on my iX12 two days ago. I am glad that I test fit the grips before using the adhesive sheet because they did not lie flat. I had to trim two rubber nubs from the right front grip to get it to lie flat on the transmitter and 1 nub on the left front. Both of the back grips fit fine. The orange grips really make the transmitter pop!
These grips are currently available for the DX6 G2/3, DX7 G2, DX8 G2, DX9 (including Black edition) iX12 (including Limited Color editions) And the iX20. This tutorial should help any Spektrum user thru this process and give you some tips on tools that can be used to help. We recommend getting a low temp capable heat gun, such as the Hangar 9 Heat Gun www.horizonhobby.com/heat-gun-han100 And having a soft plastic tool to manipulate the rubber grips, adhesive and help remove old adhesive is also helpful. I liked adding the color to my iX12. The only negative is that the supplied adhesive does not hold the new grip set to radio. So you will have to find some other type of adhesive to use. I am continually having to press the grips back on.
Die kannst du eigentlich in der Pfeife rauchen.Ich hab sie seit einem Jahr auf meiner DX8.Leider färben sie mit der Zeit aus,so das der schwarze Untergrund durchscheint.Sieht dann unschön aus!
Nice tutorial. I wish the grips were offered in additional colors besides orange and factory stock black. Orange and black together look too much like Halloween to me. 😋
Got these with my nx8 that I just got in the mail today. I like the looks of the orange but im afraid to rip off the grips on my brand new nx8. Maybe later I guess. lol. do these come with the same adhesive tape used in the factory for the stock grips?
@@SpektrumRCvideos ok thanks. Also, the double stick tape that came with mine seems like its sized bigger than the grip itself. I havent installed them yet but is it normal to have to trim the tape some?
When are you going to do tutorials on the new AR 637 SMART receivers? So we can place it other planes you sell like Hangar9 and have the ability to have SAFE?
How do you tell which generation of transmitter you have? What is the difference between them? Can an older generation be upgraded to the latest generation?
Kalvin Noble normally it is labeled on the fcc sticker on the back. And no there is no upgrade from a previous gen to newer generations. Hope that helps :)
This won't be happening for me any time soon. For whatever reason, I am terrible at applying decals, in this case, double sided stick tape. The orange does look good though. I didn't know it was adhered via tape. Figured they were screwed on like that of the grips on the DX5C and the DX5 Rugged.
Total nightmare to do IRL. Why not just sell Orange or black grip models or make them an actual easy thing to change? I can appreciate you are trying to make it customizable. but this ruins the original grips and is near impossible to get right and feel like they will hold on the replacements.
I recieved my NX8+ yesterday along with the orange grips. I am about to put them on, thanks for the video!

Loctite makes spray adhesive for foam . Works on rubber too.
Will you have these for the NX series?

Maybe something for the dx18
Where do you get the replacement adhesive sheets?
Can I order in Purple - Pleaasse ?

Are there also orange grips for the nx serieos radios?
I love it. I feel like now that any 6 channel planes that also have SAFE need 7 channels to turn SAFE on and off the DX7 might have a use again.
which ix (smart) transmitter will appear on the market next? ix 9 for example ? and when will it be?
When are you going to do tutorials on the new AR 637 SMART receivers? So we can place it other planes you sell like Hangar9 and have the ability to have SAFE?
We will have a whole series of videos out by the time they are shipping :)
Do they make the grips for the DX6e Transmitter?
No
Do these grips make the transmitter bigger or smaller?
Same size ;)
Will these be available for the NX series?
coming in soon :)

Will these fit a new DX8e?
The E models do not have rubber grips to replace :) But great question! Thanks!
Can you guys export the radios to India?
I do not believe so BUT you can check with BorderFree. The company that we do international shipping with. Thanks!

I'm not brave enough to point a heat gun at my dx9
Grips shrink in the sun, haha no fear of that in the UK where I live.
Yepp, that's the first thing you do on a new transmitter for several hundred dollars. Just take a heatgun and go for it...
Nice
This is cool 😎 but I’m good with my i Ix 12 stock grips, nice video on showing the steps
GooGone
Nice video, thanks! But, that’s so U-G-L-Y !

Orange?
What about the rest of us?
