    Put the two pins directly together. Your fan is just a "big jumper", connecting two pins. Testet on a 8300.

    I appreciate your video, but just "saying" a random color sequence means nothing to most of us. The adapter cable that I bought (ATX 24 to 6 pin) has a totally different color scheme and wire position than the original.
    Original HP 8300 P2 connector = [x-x-gray-green-white-red+white]
    ATX 24 to 6 pin adapter cable = [x-gray-yellow-purple-blue-x]
    ("x" = open pin, no wire)
    Also, your link to the 'power adapter pinout' is invalid and no longer available.

For now I hope this helps, ruclips.net/video/1uSzb5HRD2w/видео.html this is the second video I posted showing the particular pinout sequence for my pc. Also thank you for the heads up on the broken link. New image link is now in the description.

      Learn how to trace the source and destination of wires. What pin on the connector is the source? What pin is the destination? Color doesn't matter. The connection does.

  • @vancerawles1

    Great video! Been going crazy looking everywhere for the kind of set up you have. Couple of questions: That's the SFF model right? (I've got an i7 8300) what GPU & PSU are you using? i see you cut out space for the PSU but did you have to do anything special besides leave the lid off to make the Card fit? Basically want something cheaper and more powerful than the 1050 ti LP and don't care if the cover's off.

    • @letsnerdout7923
      @letsnerdout7923  5 лет назад +1

      Hey vance,
      yes it is, to be exact my model is the HP elite 8200 SFF ( i7-2600). For my GPU im using an MSI RADEON RX560, (I only picked this one because of its length. Anything longer and it would get in the way of my CPU-fan.) As far as the PSU I chose a SilverStone Technology 450W SFX Form Factor. The only big modification I did was using the case of the old PSU as a mounting bracket for the new PSU. Besides that, nothing crazy, as long as you have your power adapter pinned out correctly you should be good to go. Oh, and yes, your cover is going to have to stay off. Hopefully this helps.
      Check out my other vid if you want to see how it looks after I cut the case.

    I like it. I have 2 of these adapters and both with different wires layout on the white connector.
    I'm looking for a way of connecting any of them to HP Entry Tower G5. ANy idea if this is possible, at all? No service documentation is available from HP for this model, so I'm kind of confused ...
    EDIT: Have just compared these white connectors on 8300 and Z1 Tower G5. Theyre completely different. Therefore, the adapter is completely useless for Z1. I'll play with it in the 8300 and 800g1.

    What's the benefit of upgrading the power supply from the current I believe 240 I have a video card in it when it's been fine I've used this computer for a few years now but I have the 8100 model and it has no USB 3.0 so I've added the USB 3.0 but I cannot get a stable speeds it keeps dropping off is that related to lack of power or something else?

    • @letsnerdout7923
      @letsnerdout7923  2 года назад

      Depends on what you have connected to your pc. There are smaller video cards made for mini, micro, and slim pc's and usually dont require additional power. (But usually get close to maxing out the power output of your standard power supply) in your case you perhaps have maxed it out. Also there is a psu adapter on the market now that makes the upgrade easy and includes the fan error fix. Good luck.

    Hi, i have same pc...
    it's safe running this pc without psu fan?
    I just remove psu fan because it's to loud... Thanks

    • @gumpi5
      @gumpi5 2 года назад

      You should not do that. Maybe it's okay when pulling 30% of maximum load without the fan. But getting over 50% load the PSU will overheat and in worst case it goes bang and kills your Mobo too. In best case it simply shuts down and restart again in a few seconds of cooling down a bit.
      The fan in original Elitedesk 800G1 isn't that loud so I can't understand why disconnecting it. Maybe it needs a new fan and/or cleaning so it could be silent again

    • @letsnerdout7923

      Boomer it I wouldn’t recommend it as it is meant for just one fan. This current setup is meant to just get rid of the annoying 515 error and does not support fan control. I would honestly recommend just getting an adapter for your power supply rather than splicing. That is, I’m assuming you’re going to be splicing the two fans together and then dropping the two pins in. All up to you buddy, here’s some good info on the power adapter pin sequence as well as standard CPU fan header pinouts.

    Because you need 500 to 600 watts or more if you're going to do any real work on a computer. No, not for those stupid games. For rendering video and editing video without waiting hours for the render. To compose music with Band In A Box without it stuttering and breaking up. To run that quad core CPU wiithout it choking. In other words, to do something with your life instead of wasting it. Sheesh!
