Great video. I'm a photographer & artist and I notice something here though 11:29. To the average viewer Hero 9 looks better because it 'pops'. I believe both are set to the default "Auto-Exposure" (where the camera automatically sets the ISO, Shutter Speed, & Exposure), if that is the case, the Hero 9's auto-exposure has some problems here! Notice the sky how its completely white, and the leaves of the tree are chewed up by the white. This is called "Over Exposure". Once the detail is eaten up by white, no video editing can get it back. Where as the Hero 7 can be edited (on Adobe Premiere Pro etc.) to pop like the Hero 9 (levels / curves or brightness / contrast, exposure, color balance). That said, I notice the Hero 9 does have sharper detail, as you can see with the grass, the 7 looks more muddled, while 9 has significantly more texture to it. If you're getting the 9, you might need to Manually set exposure, so it's optimal without any parts of the footage being chewed up.
Completely disagree on the 60fps thing. I much prefer watching RUclips content in 60fps to the point where it negatively affects my experience if it’s anything lower than 60

My son was just given a 3+ and with no screen and no stabilization I knew I wanted to find another 7 used for him and sell the 3+ a little. Found a 7 with extras for $100 and a week later found the 9 for $90. Works out I will use my 9 and my two kids will be my E-role (both of their names start with E, Dad joke)footage with the 7's.
Yourecontent gets better and better everytime bro! I enjoyed the comparisons of the two different models. I personally have the 8 and it rivals a lot of the 9. Colors look more vibrant as well on it.

GoPro should finally support 4k60 with SuperView on. That would be the dream setting for me. But each year they seem to disappoint me, so I will continue waiting.

I've recently started riding again after 25 years and appreciate vids like this one so thank you, I've decided to go with hero 9. That said the port you mentioned being for an external microphone is actually a USB c for charging and transferring files. If you want to use an external mic you have to buy the gopro media mod separately...thanks again!
Im a little advanced in the motorcycle world and was looking into getting a go pro. Actually watched the whole video as it was informative. I definitely am on a budget so this helped me decide to go with the 7 for now. Cool jacket you wore briefly in this vid.
Getting the subscription service is worth it, I saved all my money back already with the discounts from buying the media mod, extra batteries etc. you should have bought them on the GoPro website. I use mine in 4K/30fps Superview with hypersmooth on but boost off. Nice video/channel, I'm going to check more out. Keep it up : )

What if someone currently has a 3 and just wants an upgrade lol? I mostly ride with the gopro on the bike and have super shaky footage. Gopro 9 with hypersmooth seems like the best bet? what do you think?

Yea the 7 is better because the hero 7 and the 9 have the same sensor and processor.. but the 9 has a higher megapixels.. so the 7 is much better in low night.. the 10 is coming so hoping for a new sensor and new processor. Bro you live in GA? Man I lived there and I had Cbr600.. and man.. I remember bike nights were insane. Man I miss having my bike. I got hit on my cbr1000rr and man out of all the times I’ve been in motorcycle accidents.. this was the one time I didn’t get up and woke up in a ambulance... my wife was like.. nope. No more. But man I miss it so much. I miss Atl too.

I can tell the difference when I comes down to details like looking at your gauges Nd colors and all that GoPro 9 takes but ik you can mess with settings Nd change that so either is really fire both can be used just scared of the 7 I heard the waterproof problems when plugging stuff in Nd that’s. Worry while riding

`yoo fastlane , im doing onboard footage too but only racing , so since gopro 7 the gopros made all the footage look slower then it is when your on the bike , what can be done about that because im riding my ass f and it still looks like my granny is riding
Normally I would say I will buy the 7.but I want also to film some dh Mountainbiking and Motocross riding, so the hypersmooth of the 9 sounds so much better. Such a difficult desicion :D
Lucky you are not a video maker. Haha you shoot higher frame rate so you can slow down the footage to 24(or 25 if you like real smooth footage)FPS for slowmo. The max lens mod in superview on hero9 is less field of view than the hero 7 in superview. Also if you are shooting in flat curve, you can post edit (grade) much better looking footage.

Those GoPros finally delivered some upgrades. I used to have bad exp using them at night or with low light.

it seems the only reason to get a hero 9 is for the screen in the front for selfie, and perhaps bragging rights that you have the latest.
