Thank you they are the best for sure you are correct you can end up with so many different outcomes just by the way you blend it's also very easy to ruin the whole batch it doesn't take much 😆
Just threw down a 60l peach brandy mash yesterday had to use a little bit more sugar then anticipated hopefully it still turn out delicious my brother. Thanks for the inspiration and videos to look back on for knowledge and advice.
Great videos. Definitely keep it up. I have loads of newbie questions::: I would like to see a detailed mash making instructional video for newbies. How you actually store ot for the 2 weeks & when u know it's ready. Also, more details about when you know your run is leaving the heads, entering the heart, & entering the tails. Couple questions about the setup. Where did you get the copper thing that you have the hydrometer in during the run? Also what type/model of hydrometer do u use? Thanks
I just buy cheap ones off Amazon I recommend buying several because if you only buy one, you'll break it. That's how it works. You buy a bunch of them and you'll have them forever. But I built the copper proofing parrot that the hydrometer goes in but you can buy them on Amazon and especially eBay
Also I plan to make a video like that soon for beginners in really about to start doing a lot of runs I prefer to run in the winter time I like my mash to work of cold and slow To me it makes a way better product in the end and I do everything outside in the shine Shack so the ambient temperature matters in my situation. But I'll definitely get a video like that put together soon. I appreciate you watching the
Man they are the best thing since sliced bread just like filling a 53 be prepared to let it sit for 2-3 years minimum though but damn is it worth it I wanna fill my closet up with them 😜
Hey lovin the videos, I got a question Mr Shack. Waiting on my N GA Still, wanting to make some brandy and cut with some fruit wine I already made. The wine is back sweetened. If I’m trying to measure the ABV once blended, does the sugar in the wine throw off that ABV hydrometer?? Thanks!
Yes it will if you know the ABV of your wine then there are online calculators That you enter the ABV of your wine and the AVB of alcohol. And how much you're adding to come up with your total proof of your final spirit
I made an apple “brandy” last fall when my buddy gave me a couple hundred pounds of apple. The licker was great… but not much of the apple flavor came through. I just made apple pie shine with it because it seemed appropriate. Any suggestions on getting that solid apple flavor through?
The secret really lies in the yeast. While bread yeast can work well, Mangrove Jacks M02 is superior. I've tried several types of yeast over the years, and M02 stands out as a top performer and is readily available here in the US. Here are a few additional tips: a significant amount of fruit flavor is found in the heads, so take small cuts until you strike a balance between acetone and fruit flavor. Ferment with the peel included. You can remove the solids right away, but separately peel the apples and add the peels to the fermenter.
@@christopherconrad1129 Appreciate the reply. I used LV1118 yeast because it was one of only a couple of Cider yeast my store had. I’ll look into M1. I’ve heard many people mention using it. I think part of my issue is that I’m using a 26 gallon still. With no thumper. It makes really good likker… I mostly barrel my stuff. Occasionally even in used wine barrels. I guess if I want good brandy type distillate… I’m just going to have to do it more and do it better.🤣👍🥃 Best wishes.
I couldn't have said it better myself Christopher is exactly right the mangrove jacks M02 yeast made a big impact in this apple brandy it was the first time I used it but I definitely am going to use it every time now 😁 also you can try infusing with your thumper it helps add more flavor as well every little thing helps to improve your spirit
Great video, Red. Its a shame that shipping, tax's and customs charge too buy anything from you guy's across the pond is criminal. I bought a 1.lb bag of dady yeast at $13.00. that turned out too be almost $50.00 too ship into the UK. Whinge over South Wales UK.
That is a shame man in sorry to hear that dady yeast is a great yeast but that's crazy you have to pay that much 😔 just for shipping Thanks for supporting the channel...Shine On

Great series! BadMo's are awesome! The blending was exceptional. That's one of the hardest and most intimidating things we do (IMO).

Anytime I enjoy doing it if you have a thumper infuse with peach snhapps it really packs the flavor into your peach brandy 😋
Great videos. Definitely keep it up.

Do you every use clay pots for aging. My cousions did peach brandy 2 years in clay pots. It was very good.
I have never tried that but it definitely sounds interesting 🤔
