I 150% agree with this review! I really disliked this anime, the characters were weak, the story was shit, the action scenes were uneventful and not thrilling whatsoever, and the animation is sub-par. Really love this analysis, already subscribed and imma marathon through your videos tonight :)
I hate hate hate hate hate HATE it when a movie, book, show or even a video game has a great premise but throws it down the pan. Oh and if a parrot told me I'd spend the rest of my life working at MacDonald's. Well lets just say someone's chicken burger would be parrot flavour.
What they should have done with the “parrot” (or rather crow) is having him tell the students what kind of career they would be most suited for rather than predicting the future. Kind of like the Sorting Hat but judging skills and talents alongside the students personality to determine in what kind of job/career they would shine the most in. The reason why his predictions tend to come true is just because the crow is really good at seeing people’s hidden potential. That would give a reason why they would have to take the exam multiple times but would still provide a similar kind of conflict for Akudo (leading to some potential character-depth and development). Not necessarily that he is destined to become the Demon King, but rather that he is on his way to a dark road without even knowing it and this becomes the start of a journey of self discovery to try and save himself from this terrible fate.
Personally, the moment I realised that this show was really bad was but a few episodes inn. Unfortunatelly I didn't pick up on that fact as fast as you. The scene is when he goes around saying he will NEVER use his powers for evil, but then he freaking goes and breaks the feet and legs of some guys that tried to beat him up. In other words, I totally agree with you on your judgement of this show. It's, without a doubt, a total trainwreck. Keep on making these videos, they really make my day.
I don't think it's a parrot, more likely a raven like the Japanese Yatagarasu. I totally agree with you on the points of Demon King, since I watched it a few months ago. I love the point where you said: "there's this part of my brain that thinks and I can't turn it off." Loved it!

For Akudo, he is a nice person and wants to stay away from perverted situations which is pretty rare these days...I think XD. Kena's personality is what I enjoy. I mean, she always stay positive and funny at the same time even though she is kind of naive sometimes xD. Furthermore, Demon King Daimao is a below OK anime (in other words, guilty pleasure :P)
You know this thing is just begging for a parody, hell all it would take is some changes here and there and it would be comedy, like make the government officials a bunch of teenagers, or after a long time of the android not calling back, they would cut back to them saying "Why the fuck hasn't she called us in three days!?" And another one responding "You think it was a good idea to give her the functionality to dump us?"
what makes you think that it isn't already a parody of the genre? Seriously, how many adults do we ever actually see? There is the school nurse who just happens to be his homeroom teachers. There is the principal who rarely appears at all, and the guy trying to kill him and replace him and ultimately fix the broken system. Everyone else is pretty forgettable.

I have to thank you for giving me an addiction to anime. Before I knew of this channel, I pretty much hadn't seen any anime except for your typical Dragon Ball Z when I was about five. So thank you. I won't thank myself however for deciding to watch your review of Higurashi first and... you can probably guess the rest, although by how you speak, it was a better decision than this. The way the "plot" jumped around so much, I actually went back to double check if I'd skip an episode or more when I was getting close to the end battle.

I really don't like the Tsundere female getting the guy, because it's gotten way overused. I watched Shakugan No Shana, and don't kill me for saying this, but Shana herself is one of the reasons I couldn't get into it, because her constant, "Shut up, shut up, shut up!" got old very quickly and when she uses that, I keep thinking, lighten up, girl, Yuji was just making a comment about something, so no need to have a cow over it another being the incest twins, Ugh, even mentioning them just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Do I even need to explain

My self, I like girls who can take care of themselves, and can be brave when it comes to fighting, or standing for what they believe (i.e. Asuna, Maximum Ride, Bonnie Silver,) but I hate the common Tsundere love interest, as really, constantly being told to shut up, or hit in the head over the slightest little thing is not attractive to me.
Shadow, i enjoy your sense of humor and had a thought that i would love to see you do reviews of bad anime similar to what you do with Ticket to Damnation. It wouldn't be any different from your normal reviews, but people would be able to pick out anime you like from anime you hated. And then you'd have to purposely review bad anime, so it's all up to you, lol.

Some thoughts I had about the talking parrot (I haven't watched this anime). First, do they call it a parrot in the show? Because that looks NOTHING like a parrot. More like a crow or raven, which can sometimes be associated witches. Second, maybe the smoking was supposed to be like the smoking caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland?
Yeah, it's a crow. Don't know how I made that mistake. My bad. And the reason why the smoking caterpillar worked in Alice in Wonderland is because it was a world built around trippy, bizarre visuals. Demon King Daimao isn't.

I didn't care for most of the characters and the ones that I did care about (the president with the witch hat) did not get much screen time. My favorite part of the anime is the opening song. Did you like the opening song?
i've never seen this anime before so i can't make a judgment about it, but i will say one thing, yuko is a better example of a fortune teller done right, because her predictions are actually accurate, and she has a childlike sense of humor to back up her serious side
That has got to be the best comment I have ever seen in anime review history! I just love it! Index is amazing! I love that character so much! Rail-Gun is okay, but whatever. She's still a tsudere in any event. Also, the multi-national corporation statement is perfect! I love the fact that it technically summarizes the red-haired girl and the blue-haired girl! The girl in blue-hair is Rail-Gun on marijuana! While that bitch in red-hair was Index on crack! :D
I agree with you on this one. I couldn't really stand this anime very much. I could hardly sit through this review simply because the anime is that bad, but not because you are a terrible anime reviewer. I really did enjoy you ripping this anime to shreds! Agreed! It felt like a lazy, overly sexualized (pointlessly) Harry Potter with the *Crow* as the sorting hat. I didn’t understand why they had it assign fates in front of everyone, rude AF. They started so many vague plot points only to never mention them ever again, like how the MC and Keena knew each other as children for like 5 seconds than he remembers her bird thing chases it in the woods and immediately forgets about it for it to never be addressed again. The green haired ninja girl was completely useless to the story and I literally forgot about her until the end when she came back. They also never show what her “dad” does to her. Why did Junko have to marry the demon lord and than when he as another wacky misunderstanding with her she has to disavow her family to be with him??? Also she makes a remark about how her sister can touch the MC now with out pain now, but than they all immediately forget that he was the demon lord but remember the dragons sacrifice??? This show was super schizophrenic so I just let it play in the bg and went back to a video game. It wasn’t worth my full attention. This would be such an embarrassing addition to a creators resume.

Anyone notice how Junko is practically the exact same character as Akane Tendo from Ranma 1/2? Think about it. Both girls have short blue hair and have Tsundere personalities, both are arranged to marry the main character, both are totally in love with said guy for no real reason at all, both live in a kendo fighting place with strict/silly people, and both fight with their own weapons (Akane for fists, Junko for sword)! I mean how shameless can they possibly get here?
Oh well...as a fan of this anime I respect your opinion of it and hope you have better luck finding more anime that's more to your liking. This anime is OBVIOUSLY far from perfect but just for the fact that I'm not one to hate any anime beside School Days, I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Honestly, I liked this show going into it, because I expected it to be terrible. Yet somehow, that's what made it good in a sense. To me, it jumped over the "magical romance" line, straight into the absurd comedy, and then I just couldn't stop LAUGHING. To me, if I find a show terrible enough, somehow it just jumps the line into comedy, the "so bad it's good" territory.
The thing i pretty much went like wow in this anime was the time when Akuto sai used his powers. It was pretty interesting. But most of this stuff that you do bring up, has a very very good point. Oh yeah... The only think i like about the Android is her voice. That's pretty much it.

Actually I didn't wanted to get the opinion on ending. Actually I wanted to ask what do u think happened to Lelouche cuz the last dialouge in anime by C2 was addressed to Lelouche. I mean many people differ about their opinion of what exactly happened in the end. So i just wanted to know ur stand.

Thanks for reviewing this anime! I don't hate it as much as you do, but it is not one of my favorites. I didn't care for most of the characters and the ones that I did care about (the president with the witch hat) did not get much screen time. My favorite part of the anime is the opening song. Did you like the opening song?

i've never seen this anime before so i can't make a judgment about it, but i will say one thing, yuko is a better example of a fortune teller done right, because her predictions are actually accurate, and she has a childlike sense of humor to back up her serious side

Index is amazing! I love that character so much! Rail-Gun is okay, but whatever. She's still a tsudere in any event.
Also, the multi-national corporation statement is perfect! I love the fact that it technically summarizes the red-haired girl and the blue-haired girl! The girl in blue-hair is Rail-Gun on marijuana! While that bitch in red-hair was Index on crack! :D
I agree with you on this one. I couldn't really stand this anime very much. I could hardly sit through this review simply because the anime is that bad, but not because you are a terrible anime reviewer. I really did enjoy you ripping this anime to shreds! I thought this anime was okay at first, but I watched it again and thought it was bad! I enjoy your reviews, and I watched some of the anime that you reviewed that I have never seen before, like 11eyes, and loved it! Keep on reviewing! :)

It felt like a lazy, overly sexualized (pointlessly) Harry Potter with the *Crow* as the sorting hat. I didn’t understand why they had it assign fates in front of everyone, rude AF.
They started so many vague plot points only to never mention them ever again, like how the MC and Keena knew each other as children for like 5 seconds than he remembers her bird thing chases it in the woods and immediately forgets about it for it to never be addressed again.
The green haired ninja girl was completely useless to the story and I literally forgot about her until the end when she came back. They also never show what her “dad” does to her.
Why did Junko have to marry the demon lord and than when he as another wacky misunderstanding with her she has to disavow her family to be with him??? Also she makes a remark about how her sister can touch the MC now with out pain now, but than they all immediately forget that he was the demon lord but remember the dragons sacrifice???
This show was super schizophrenic so I just let it play in the bg and went back to a video game. It wasn’t worth my full attention. This would be such an embarrassing addition to a creators resume.
You know, I've noticed that when you review something you hate the reviews get really funny. Like this one was just really fun to watch and the Sailor Moon one too. I've never heard of this anime but the name sounds familiar to something else...

Anyone notice how Junko is practically the exact same character as Akane Tendo from Ranma 1/2? Think about it. Both girls have short blue hair and have Tsundere personalities, both are arranged to marry the main character, both are totally in love with said guy for no real reason at all, both live in a kendo fighting place with strict/silly people, and both fight with their own weapons (Akane for fists, Junko for sword)!
I mean how shameless can they possibly get here?
Oh well...as a fan of this anime I respect your opinion of it and hope you have better luck finding more anime that's more to your liking. This anime is OBVIOUSLY far from perfect but just for the fact that I'm not one to hate any anime beside School Days, I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Honestly, I liked this show going into it, because I expected it to be terrible. Yet somehow, that's what made it good in a sense. To me, it jumped over the "magical romance" line, straight into the absurd comedy, and then I just couldn't stop LAUGHING. To me, if I find a show terrible enough, somehow it just jumps the line into comedy, the "so bad it's good" territory.

The thing i pretty much went like wow in this anime was the time when Akuto sai used his powers. It was pretty interesting. But most of this stuff that you do bring up, has a very very good point. Oh yeah... The only think i like about the Android is her voice. That's pretty much it.
