I had to come back here to say, that I love, Love, LOVE this soup! Last night, I didn't have any tortilla's, so I added a bit extra broth, and an extra can of tomatoes and a cup of rice to this soup. Let it simmer til the rice was done and the family just LOVED it! The basic recipe has so much flavor and is so good, that the rice in it stretched it perfectly! I know it's a garden channel, but I truly love when you share recipes! Thanks Laura!😋❤️
Having JUST viewed this, you've just answered my recent nagging need for FLAVOR & "something new to us"!!! Thx so much; excellent video. My gosh, you two are extremely attractive, concientious, diligent, sweet, decent, funny, loving, wise + attentive parents, and exceedingly talented gardeners. Your landscape SINGS, and your home is so charming & lovely. Artistic, salt-of-the-earth. As I'm older, w older kids, my viewpoint is: Your parents (all) did a bang-up job. Well-done.
Yes, the onion reaction was so real. And checking the pot with your hand and your reaction was to die for when you realized it was hotter than you realized. Your cooking videos are the best. My enjoyment level is off the dial. Keep it up.
Moonstone!! Chicken tortilla soup is a crowd pleaser. Made it many times for pot luck events but never made my own tortilla strips. That's what I love about this channel - inspiration.
Oh I wish my Meyer Lemons looked like yours! I love the Bronze cookware. Love how you keep things real, like dirty ovens and the pain of cutting onions! Great recipe, thank you :)
Congratulations Connor! You are one of the winners of the salt cellar!!! Yay! Please message us at winner@gardenanswer.com with your details (phone number and address) so we can get it shipped out to you! ❤️ ~Laura
@@ajit5575 you may look at the video again 😉 at 2.50 min in the video. You can see out the windows . And look at the Christmas tree in the background 👍 Where Garden Answer is located, they don’t grow corn or tomatoes at that time of the year
I watched this older video and since I make dinner for my daughter's family every Tuesday, I dashed to the store and got a rotisserie chicken and made the soup. It is absolutely delicious. I love your videos. I have learned SO MUCH from you.
Color: Moonstone We picked the same cookware in our gift registry nearly 15 years ago. Would be nice to try your recipe with my daughter using the new cookware.🙂
Color: Moonstone or onyx I love how you incorporate everything in your gardens for recipes for us to try. What is the temperature in your sunroom for the limes and lemons to grow? Don’t they freeze in there? I would love to grow them in my house in the northeast if it’s possible.
I just made this as I'm home with a sinus infection today 😔. Something I can actually taste😊! My husband doesn't like soup either but he's deemed this "chili" to get around the soup label 😀. We made the thanksgiving turkey burgers gluten free and they too were delish too! We both watch your channel and just love your content, all of it.. Thank you Laura & Aaron! Happy Holidays 🎄!!
😢 Is the contest over? 😭 I love your videos. I live in an apartment, you encouraged me to grow vegetables, so, I am growing an onion and lettuce. I saw your beautiful lemon and lime tree. I am hoping to get started on those, too. You're not only the best gardener but you cook the best taco soup, too. Thank you for sharing your gift of gardening. I so appreciate it.
Just commented. I want to let you know that because of you I have found my true passion. I love gardening more than I ever have. I watch you guys daily.!!! I tell everyone about you. Could you please do a video sometime on how to create "rooms" in landscaping. I'm trying to do something in this area. Thanks
Yeah, also? Don't use the sharp edge of your knife to scrape items off a cutting board into a pan/pot. (It can dull the blade.) Either use the dull edge or use the side of your knife to scoop the items up and using your other hand, hold them on the knife and drop them in the pan/pot. OR...just use your hands to move the items from the cutting board into the pan/pot. My friend's a chef and I just know he would be cringing at 90% of the stuff he sees in cooking videos. (Disclaimer: Laura does not claim to be a chef.) :)
Congratulations Alex! You are one of the winners of the salt cellar! Yay! Please message us at winner@gardenanswer.com with your details (phone number & address) so we can get it shipped out to you! ❤️~Laura
Color : Bronce. You guys are so inspiering! I love watching your videos. I am German but live in Sweden since 1999. I must say Laura and Aaron, you are doing a wonderful work, you have a wonderful home and garden and a really sweet little boy. Please continue like this, you are great !
My mom shown me your channel and we have learned so many techniques from cooking to gardening. I would love to surprise my mom and grandmother with a Anolon Cookware set. It would give me an opportunity to spend more time with them. 😊 I also made your tortilla soup recipe and it was by far the best soup I've had in a long time!
Color: Indigo, such a pretty pop of color!! I love tortilla soup! Jealous of your homegrown lime! That is on my gardening wish list. You should be proud of those little limes!
I watch you with my 2 year old grandaughter so she waits to watch her cartoons. She loves to watch for you kittys and little one. Married 37years and have never won anything. Would love the bronze!!!!Love you Gina Mallian
Color-Bronze. My son in law isn't really a soup person but he said this soup he was willing to try. My daughter and 3 very picky grandsons like this soup. Thank you for a new recipe.
I made this soup when it came out 4 years ago. Now i make it a few times every fall/winter. Me and my family love it! I moved out and my dad asked me for the recipe since they love it so much! I'm making it tonight 😋 thank you for this recipe 🙏
I love the indigo color pots. And that locking lid with strainer is inspired. Love your tortilla soup recipe, thanks for that. Just the thing for a cold winter day.
I live in Idaho and I have citrus indoors, too. My lime tree is only about 18" tall but has given me three limes. The first one I tasted was unreal! I didn't know they could taste like that. My meyer lemon is also in bloom with a few lemons turning yellow. I understand the pride you feel towards your citrus. Fun video! Thanks for all you do.
I like the bronze. I don't usually use fresh jalapeños but will try this out. We love soups. I often make “Saturday soup” - starting with saute of onion, garlic, carrot and celery throw in all the week's leftovers of meat, veggie, rice, pasta, even salad. Fill with broth, water, canned veggies, canned beans, whatever. It's always different and always delicious.
Onyx would be my favorite. Whoever gets the giveaway is receiving a wonderful gift. Can’t wait to try the soup! Thanks for all you do! Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!
“Don’t look in my oven, do it quick!” Girl, you are so real! I love it!!!!!!
I love watching her cook and plant.

Color: Moonstone. Tip: When cutting onions, keep the root attached and it keeps you from crying.
