I made this and love it together with your shampoo recipe. I only put a very small amount two dime size amount and I rub it on the ends and comb it through my entire length of hair. Also tried this recipe, didn't like it as it made my hair really oily. However, it is a def one to use to conditioner your hair for a day or two if you can stand the oilyness and then shampoo afterwards
Hmm I never thought of making my own condition. I'd really like to try this. I have tried just putting coconut oil on my roots for a few hours and it makes my hair soft but it's a pain to do it all, this looks much easier. :0) have a great day!
I've tried it twice and my hair is clean and feels soft, but still looks super oily. I find I have to shampoo after I use it otherwise the oil won't come out. Am I doing something wrong? Last night I tried it as a treatment and put it in dry hair and left it for a bit before getting in the shower. I made this conditioner and so far I've used it once but found it to be really heavy and oily and hard to rinse out. It also left my hair pretty tangled. I ended up rewashing afterwards and then applying your coconut leave in conditioner recipe which worked well. Do you happen to know if I could just add either apple cider vinegar to this recipe or coconut milk to try to balance out the heaviness and make it easier to rinse out? More aloe too maybe? I've wanted to experiment with tweaking it but am nervous about messing it up. Your homemade shampoo recipe worked great!
@@yolanda9730 I haven't figured it out yet ut for the time being, I've just been doing an apple cider vinegar/ water rinse and no conditioner and it's been working pretty well. Still experimenting.
@@yolanda9730 Greetins, what is the ratio of ACV to water do you use? I'm having the same problem, very oily, needings to shampoo it twice to get it out. Thank you and Merry Christmas.
I love all your vids! I have a question, can you use fresh aloe vera instead of something that's store bought? Also do you think peppermint and lavender would be a good combo for essential oils, our something else? Thanks!
No. The tingling sensation you experience when peppermint touches the scalp is due to peppermint making a myriad of micro cuts on the skin of your skull. Just like eating pepper does in the mouth.
This made my hair very very oily and it was impossible to rinse out. Im going to let it dry and and sleep on it but if it doesnt look any better tomorrow im going to have to try washing it out again and finding an alternative conditioner. Im dissapointed as I ordered in the products especially and dont think I can use this :(
I made the the other week and popped it in the shower for my next hair wash and when I went to use it, it was rock solid and had kind of separated :( Is there a way around this? Would Shea butter be a solution to this problem?
Hi, just came across your channel looking to make a diy conditioner. and I would like to ask about the aloe vera. Is this a gel or a liquid and does it matter in this recipe? Thanks
Can you recommend a different oil and butter I have a child that is allergic to coconut can't even touch it on the skin usually I use sweet almond oil for any thing that I make for him but I just thought I'd get your opinion and what would be the best alternative to coconut
I used this right after I used the shampoo from the previous video. I have thick curly hair, and a generous amount did nothing at all to detangle it. I put it in a small mason jar just like you said and had to use almost all of it to get my hair to untangle. Then my hair, myself and my tub all felt coated in lard. I had to rewash my hair and scour the tub with Ajax. I'll try it again using half the coco butter and coconut oil suggested. Also you said to use 15 to 30 drops of essential oils. Yet you put only 10 in. Which is it?
I made this and it's leaving oil stains on my pillow even if my hair is dry. I find it doesn't detangle, leaves my hair dry the first day and then somehow causes it to become oily and heavy prematurely on the second day. I'm hoping it will get better as my hair adjusts to natural conditioner. Does this leave oil stains on anyone else's pillow and if so, is there a way to adjust the recipe to stop that?
Hello! What is the Jojoba oil for? Is it to dilute the essential oils? I want to make this recipe to pair it up with my homemade shampoo (from your video😄).
I don’t know if you figured anything yet, but I recommend not putting it on scalp. I stopped putting any kind of conditioner on my scalp. I do shampoo on scalp and not on ends and conditioner on ends. I have very oily hair and that’s helped a lot
