Hi im a korean skincare chemist. I really love your recipe and interesting the video ~ your recipe is super basic on the knowledge ~ thank you share your information ~^^🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷
Especially with sensitieve skin i found out that less ingrediënt are better. My daughter loves coconut oil as make up remover. Just made a cream with beewax and prunus oil , cacao butter. Its so creamy and smells jum ! 😊
Great video , I did find it hard transitioning to homemade for the greasy feeling, I associated it with dirty but now after seeing my skin soak it up and look better naturally, I'm happy I persevered. I didn't know arrowroot did that. Thank you
Thank you so much for giving us so many great resources for making healthy skin care products. I use coconut oil instead of gel to tame my curly hair. You are a true blessing! Smiles...
Your channel is such a good resource! I've added arrow root powder to my lotion recipe, the texture was good but the lotion actually dried out my skin. Maybe I ust added too much AR powder?
once water introduced into the lotion/cream/body butter, then need to use preservative. while Vitamin E act as antioxidant for boths (water base & oil base) besides to avoid rancid especially an oil. i think she made a whipped butter & not body butter
This has been really helpful , in regards to the Vitamin E oil , what would be the best alternative , as I seem to be allergic to Vitamin E based products . Thank You
Like cocoa butter and mango butter semi sensitive to coconut oil can i use less of it 4 beeswax candelila is a great vegan alternative. Zinc oxide is also 4 the skin and natural diaper rash cream
Hi there, I love your videos and I am getting so much useful information, so thank you. I do have a question though, do you ever try to add a little natural colour to your skincare? Something natural like beetroot would have a lovely pink colour. Do you have any advice on that?
You can also make healing salves (just melt down in a double boiler some beeswax and herbal infused oil), perfume bars, and candles I think. That’s all I can think of at the moment besides the lotion bars, but there’s loads of lists on Pinterest for what to do with it.
I made whipped body butter with mine! I think the common skincare items to make with beeswax are: lotion bars, body butters, and chap stick. You can also make candles with beeswax! That’s all I can think of for now 😊
Most are good for 6 months to a year. You can add an antioxidant like vitamin E antioxidant or rosemary antioxidant to help extend the shelf life of the product if desired.
I love all the natural lotions but I find it gets on my clothes and makes them smell and the oil is hard to wash out. Am alone on this? Is there a solution or recommendation?
oils and butters will turn rancid over time on textile which is probably what you're smelling and if you use it daily I suggest you change your sheets more frequently and use hot water. try soaking in baking soda in hot water and washing with a detergent. shifting to more water-based lotions with less oils will probably improve your situation.
My daughter (19) suffers from acne and the blemishes take so long to disappear. The dermatologist regimen doesn’t really work and I think the products are too harsh for her skin. I know it bothers her and I would like to try a more natural approach. Her skin is oily as well. I am going to make the face wash and moisturizer. What essential oil would you suggest for us to try for acne? I am thanking you in advance because I think this is what I’ve been looking for for her. You are very informative and such a delight to watch. Beautiful family too and congratulations on being debt free!
Put a few drops (3-6) on a little cotton pad and dab it on good right on the pimple , everyone’s skin reacts a little differently but even if it’s not the exact right one for your daughter it’s still going to help and if you don’t see a huge difference from tea tree then I would try mint or lemon. Odds are they are all going to be gone the next day, the really massive ones might take 2-3 lol Good luck
Is there a way to make the body butter glide better? I hope you understand what I mean... the homemade stuff tends to stretch the skin as you rub it in...the bought stuff glides easily over the body... does that make sense?
the bought stuff which are professionally crafted include ingredients (nature-derived if certified organic product) that improve slip and overall silky feel and luxuriousness which cannot be duplicated with just raw plant oils and butters and beeswax. Some incorporate water or plant hydrosols and aloe vera juice which takes this to a whole new level.
@Andreia de Távora using only plant oils and butters will leave the user feeling greasy no matter how much arrowroot powder you add which is why it's kept to less than 15% in formulations and the rest is water or water replacements like aloe juice for skin hydration and some thickener so it doesn't all just melt when the temp gets a little warm. Plant esters are great replacements for oils. Try them out.
Are you sure it is the arrowroot? I personally don’t find arrowroot “gritty.” However, Shea butter heated to a temperature that is too high will turn gritty. I ruined a couple of my homemade products doing this.
@@thegreenflea4887 Yes, 100% arrowroot. The first batch I made was mango butter and coconut oil, the second mango butter and Shea butter. Out come was still gritty although I don't think either batch overheated. Maybe it wasn't whipped thoroughly enough. I used a hand mixer and whipped both batches until they were fluffy.
shea butter is notorious to create grit when not cooled down properly. there's a scientific reason behind it but i don't expect that information in diy videos. try rapid cooling your oil and butter mixture with an ice bath.
I bought all the ingredients and tried making a face moisturizer but unfortunately I just found it to be far too greasy (I added the arrowroot powder). I will try and find another use for it. I tried to use it as a makeup remover, but found I had to wash my face 3 times with soap just to get the greasy feeling off my face, which defeats the purpose.
plant oils and butters will always be greasy if used in large amounts like in her recipes and without water content. sorry you had to find out the hard way but it's a good learning experience. washing it away with lye soap will strip your skin acid mantle leaving your face tight and dry.
OK I love this video but just so you know you shouldn’t be putting coconut oil on your face because it can clog pores and we really don’t want that. If you can find one that can’t clog pores that’s fine
Hi there Laura, sorry to tell you this, but for me personally the video wasn't informative coz you didn't mention how to actually make it. You only tell which ingredients it contains and where those ingredients are good for. The thing I missed is the actual proportions, how much I need from everything to make the perfect mix. Another point is, I'm new here, and I had to search in Google to find your web page. Now I know it's not that hard to do so, but just maybe you also can provide a link "down below" to where your web site is located. Many Thanks.
@@annie4375 omfg, dear lord, just imagine the possible bacteria from the lack of preservative, not to mention chances of irritation and "DEFFINITELY NOT GETTING CANCER OR SEVERE SUNBURN"
to be fair most of her creations are oil-based so mold and bacteria aren't an issue if there's no water. what it does need though is the correct antioxidant and right amount to minimize oxidation of the oils and fats. :-)
I made skin balm with beef tallow, olive oil, and essential oils. I used Damascus rose, lavender, and bergamot. It’s very good.
I use oils from Africa. Murula and Baboba oils are fantastic. There advantages are numerous. ❤❤❤❤
Hi, I want to ask whether shea butter can be used for oily and acne-prone skin.?

Arrowroot powder is amazing. I have been using it for years. ❤❤❤❤
YAY!! Thanks for all the great tips!
My daughter shared your link with me regarding your skin care products! 🌻
VERY INFORMATIVE💯❤❤❤

Tea tree oil I'll try using that essential oil
Great stuff. I love watching your videos. You’re such an inspiration.
Thanks so much for explaining these products and sharing links of where to purchase it!
I will definitely want to give this a try!
You are so welcome!
May I ask, do you purchase the shea butter in larger quantities?
Does coconut oil clog pores?
I love beeswax but wow I read a book on how bees are barely surviving and it makes you want to not love it! More info needs to be told about this
Wonderful video. Thank you for your information and advice. Love it and will try it. God bless
Thanks!!
Do you have a eyeliner and mascara recipe?
Yes I do! Both on my blog ouroilyhouse.com

Can you buy coconut oil from the grocery store when making skin products?
yes
What type of powder can be used?
Arrowroot
Thank you very much How long I can keep it ? 6 mount or 1 year?
And don't need antioxidanct?
