There's a lot here. I did an interview with @kenimationstudios where I talk about just a little of what I've seen, and I'm definitely not an "insider." Messes with people's heads big time. I don't know if I'm gonna go into it on the channel because lot of people who come here are/were empty vessels that can be filled with whatever, and I'm hoping that will change. Don't want to discourage anyone with talent and a strong mind from coming out here and replacing some of the lost souls.

You are soooo right. I actually watched the Vow and was amazed at the similarities to an experience I had myself with a different organization. I then came across this video and saw your perspective. I have to agree. This would not have had the clout it has if the victims were not upper middle class and/or rich and famous....and tbh majority white. I also believe there are more organizations like this out there but because there aren’t any dead bodies lying around, they stay under the radar.
Also, with regards to the volleyball thing: it has been proven that a person is more mentally susceptible after experiencing intense emotion. This can include intense negative emotions such as anger or all of the emotions associated with grief or the jubilation or finishing an intense game of volleyball. Even Tony Robbins talks about how the body goes through a physiological change after exerting energy. Basically, all of that lowers inhibitions enough to allow for a “leader” to say something or give advice for you to consider. In these cases, no one would ever consider these things in a sober/calm state of mind. However, with a nice dose of adrenaline and dopamine following a volleyball game the mind becomes pliable to these advances.

Agree on the exercise thing. Makes you more susceptible to brainwashing. That's why the instructors have to be positive. People rag on them, but these fitness instructors who encourage you and help you are 10x more valuable spiritually than these gurus.

I’m pretty sure I almost joined a cult, they always changed where they had meetings and they texted 3 times a day. I thought I just finally met a cool group of people but they started acting super weird. If I wanted to talk to anyone else they got suspicious of me.

However, the Starz version is literally produced by someone who debatably should be in prison too, and if she had been arrested like the others, she couldn't legally profit off her experience.
