Thanks for the vid! I tend to wake up early too at 4:00 to study Japanese idk why but it gives me this sense of accomplishment making a conscious effort to wake up and do something before going to work. It’s a great way to start the day

I actually got lost with my art style. Last year my client backed out because she chose her career as a full time office worker and I fully respect and support her decision. Ive already sold my pen tablet since then and went back on freehand doodles and stuff as a hobby. Different situations but watching your vlog kinda reminds me of her. Hello! It took me five years of practice and struggle to be able to make a living from art (3D modeling, drawing). I was working full-time (6 days a week, rotating schedules) living in a Third World country, living in a tiny room with my little wacom Small Xp. It is difficult, and it takes time, but it is possible, take small steps, try to see the future and realize that it may take some time, some years.I think it's better to move forward with a dog's face (local expression sry) and do things regardless of the mood. You have to hold on, don't give up

Hi Rini! I thoroughly enjoyed this video! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful life with us. I have so many questions: (1). Do you keep a planner? If so how do you divide your tasks? Ex. Lineart on Monday. (2). Do you give yourself deadlines? Ex. One page must be completed in one week. (3). How much time did you give yourself to work on your concept/character sketches? (One month? I feel like I’m spending too much time on mine but I know it’s an important step). (4). Did you create concept sketches for settings in your story? (Such as Hina’s house or did you find it unnecessary to do that?) (5). How do you plan your shots/camera angles for your panels? Thanks! 😊❤
Hii jasmine!! Thank you so much for watching and for leaving a comment (о´∀`о)💕 To answer your questions: (1) I used to keep a planner when I was working on my art full time. But since I’ve returned to working full time I’ve found that my days are structured enough for me not to feel like I need to add any additional structure (if that makes any sense??) I sort of just stick to working on my comic during the little free time that I have and get done whatever I am able to during that time (^。^) (2) Yes! I give myself rough deadlines! So just like your example, I give myself a deadline of one page a week at minimum. Some weeks I am able to get two done depending on the complexity of the page. (3) Hmmm, good question. I didn’t really give myself a deadline for the concepting/character design stage of my comic. I kind of just wanted to leave it open so that I could play around as much as I wanted. At the time, I wasn’t even 100% sure I’d even want to go through with making this comic. I was just getting out of my 1-year break from making art and was just trying to find my way back to it. I’d say it ended up taking me 2 months (March to April 2024) to complete all the characters designs and concepting though! (4) I did not! Err… maybe very roughly?? (Like just deciding where the majority of the story will be taking place - the office, at home, etc.) It helps a lot that my story takes place in a world based on reality as opposed to a fantasy setting where concepting the setting would be much more important. I’ve been relying on the 3D model backgrounds I purchased for that 😅 Tbh, I’m not much of a background / world-building girly, so I avoid concepting settings when I can ( ̄▽ ̄;)… I hope I was able to answer all of your questions!! @@jasminepowell8177 Hii!! Oh my gosh LOL I totally missed the last question!! I’m so sorry (; w ;) (5) That’s actually a pretty difficult question for me to answer x_x;; To be honest, the process is really intuitive. Some things I do like to keep in mind when planning shots and angles though: ・Have I established the setting enough for the reader to know where the characters are and where they are in relation to their surroundings? If not, maybe take a panel or two to zoom out and draw an establishing shot of the setting • What am I trying to emphasize in this panel? Is it the character’s expression (do a close up), what activity they are doing (do a mid to long shot), where they are in relation to others/the things around them (do a long shot). This is just a general rule of thumb though!! • When flipping between characters in a conversation, try not to exceed a camera angle flip of 180 degrees to avoid disorienting the reader and creating confusion around the placement of the characters in their setting and in relation to each other. YAYY new video
I'm impressed that you manage to wake up this early everyday! Dedicating time at the beginning of the day to art creates a unique bubble of peace I think 🥰 At least that's what I experienced when I did this for a few months (I woke up just 30 minutes earlier than normal though 😂)
Can you draw every day or do you have to take a complete day out from time to time to chill a bit ?
I can't wait to read your comic, I'm getting super curious about Hina's story! How many backlog chapters are you aiming for before starting to post?
I'm cheering for you and your comic *\(^-^)/*

Hello Rini. Was wondering if you can share where you got the brushes you use for watercolor and penciling. Thank you:)
Hii dpcaw!! Thank you for your comment! I think I may have already responded to another one of your comments with links to the brushes, but I'll put them here again just incase anyone else who's reading this is curious (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
