Honestly i think a biologist or someone in the skin science field will be able to answer your questions. You're Right by some extent about the accumulation of dead skin cells but having dark knees and pits is natural for people of colour. Though if they're way too dark then your normal skin, that might be something to worry about. But it's really normal to have them darker than the rest of your body. And White Europeans also complain about having dark underarms than the rest of their body it's natural.

Doctors do not agree with the idea of using an exfoliator like a loofah as it does more harm than good. Insulin causes the growth of cells. This causes hyperkeratosis and you get darkened skin. By fixing your diet and losing a few kgs, I believe that it could be transformed into what we are looking for. If you use keratolytic agents without making your insulin levels go down, it is a rarity to get the results.
This is exactly what I was looking for. I have been using the basic plastic one for years and it takes a lot of scrubbing effort and in the process they break or the knot gets untied. I am going to buy the natural loofah and try it for a month.

Its the regular ridge gaurd plant. Anyone can grow it. But you can find these loofahs online. It will take you very long to grow the plant fully and wait forthe vegetable to over ripe. Just buy online 🙂

That is why I think silicone scrubbers are best for daily use. Because they're soft and make your body wash lather well. They're not exactly the best exfoliaters but the point is that they lather well.
