DAAN WILMS
The 1st prize at the renowned Belgian "Belfius Music Competition" in 2012 inspired the multi-percussionist Daan Wilms to make percussion art in all its manifestations the centre of his creative work. After studying music at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, master's degrees in both classical and contemporary percussion followed at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München under Prof. Raymond Curfs.
In addition to appearances as a soloist and chamber musician, he regularly plays as an orchestra member with the Munich Radio Orchestra, the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, the Bavarian State Opera, La Monnaie/De Munt Brussels and the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra.
In search of his own ideas to explore the related music, he is currently one of the first students to study the postgraduate course "Excellence in Performance" at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich.

For the most part it is written down. However the patterns on the kalimba are improvisation.
