Honestly, her upper register was as glorious as ever in this clip. You see in her eyes how she struggled with trying to resurrect her past. She was loved.
Certainly not her best rendition of the famous aria. But let's celebrate the immense artist she was. Bel canto wouldn't be the same if Callas hadn't graced us with her superb talent and magnificent voice.

I wrote myself a comment on people having problems with their hearing, going on jubilating her, when this was defo the worst operformance by Callas i've ever heard. Here she had long passed her best and lost all her shine in the singing, and was totally flat. But i had to defend myself from a couple deaf assholes who attacked me saying i was the deaf one. Stupid bastards what the hell do they know?
That's not why. It's because at her best she was truly one of the best to ever do it. A true Assoluta 👑 Didn't you hear those gigantic E6's and she could utilize diminuendos up there.

You missed the point of the song and the performance. If you understand the role and the aria, she IS that young girl, begging her father... the PERFORMANCE and the CHARACTER as well as the singing - the whole thing is there and noone has so embodied a role so completely as Callas.

The difference between Callas and Netrebko is that Callas IS THE ARTIST. She is not just a voice. The emotion she expresses beats any precise notes.
