+Gabriel Wardach "ekoland"? nobody told dat. Poland it is not ekoland!
@@michalbrtakomowiec2859
Ekoland is a brand. It is a producer of the granulated tea-like drinks
Arpol it official producent of Polish SRG
Ever since I started watching ration reviews, I find myself checking the quality of disposable spoons when I eat out.
domonthecobb Best comment of the week LOL
domonthecobb i was at an REI high end camping store, and what astonished me the most was the quality of the plastic spoons they sold
domonthecobb Same here :))
A MRE newcomer: "I don't get it! They're just disposable spoons. What's the big deal?"
A few hours later...
"It's clear that Spoon A is superior to the Spoon B that came with Ration B."
domonthecobb Ha! Whats worse is I've found a great source for the best plastic spoon in the market, Chipolte!
Every time I watch a ration review, I get hungrier and hungrier with every minute of the video
+Norbert Kulpa lol mw to , I had to fix myself a meal to watch that
like i feel now mouth watering
Cups are for vodka, but they are starting to leak after 3rd round :D (just kidding). Great review man, greetings from Poland!
Dobre Bo Polskie ;];p
HUSARIAAA
That ration looks better than my actual day-to-day food! These reviews are now one of my new favourite things.
Ok, so as someone wrote before, the first can is pork neck with vegetables (carrots, black and white beans, cabbage).
The second one looks like pulpety (pul-PEH-tuh) - basically meatballs made out of minced pork meat (we eat a lot of pork), but the sauce seems a bit off. We would usually eat meatballs either with tomato or dill sauce, but that thing looks more like some kind of a soup (I'd guess krupnik (KROOP-neek) - vegetable broth with potatoes and barley groats).
The tea thing is a tea concentrate (evaporated tea) with some fruit flavor to it. And cold is a way to go with this one. I loved it as a kid, especially eating it dry straight out of a pouch.
The dried fruit mix would go along nicely with milk - might add some musli feel to it.
The bigger crackers are a kind of a dry full-grain rye bread. Pretty popular as a usual bread alternative among healthy-eating people or the ones on a diet because they contain a lot of fiber. Pretty good actually. Also known as Wasa bread. And I actually heard people calling them "styrofoam".
From what I heard, when you eat the hot can stuff you might just chew on the smaller crackers or use them as a bread for canned meat.
The meat is a kind of a spam, but more roughly ground than the typical one. This is a pretty low-class stuff, considering that pasztet (PUH-shtet) (pâté) is popular in Poland, I don't know why they chose this thing. Also paprykarz (puh-PREE-kash) (fish spread with rice and chili pepper) would be nice, much better than what it is now.
And the official manual says it should be eaten like this:
MEAL A
- small can of spam
- meatballs
- honey
- raspberry drink
- Wasa bread
MEAL B
- pork neck
- small crackers
- lemon drink
- freeze-dried fruit mix
MEAL C
- big can of spam
- Wasa bread
- strawberry jam
- raspberry drink
Others are listed as "Extras".
If you ever encounter any Polish thing (not just an MRE) and have some problems with translation, I'd be more than happy to help.
Some of the pronunciation is off, but the rest seems very accurate
I thought the "styrofoam" looked like Wasa! It's sold in most grocery stores in the States.
The vowel "a" in Polish is NOT pronounced "uh" like you so incorrectly explained... it's pronounced "ah". Like the "a's" in every other European language...
Jak zakupy z Biedronki.
Ah yes the holy trinity of mre reviews Gungod, Kiwi Dude and Gshultz
I'm always so excited when new ration vids come out. This was really interesting. Thanks for uploading. I'd love to try an international ration like this on day.

This was amazing review, my face was smiling from itself when watching this, because I'm polish and I know how every single stuff from that MRE taste like.
This was also my first video I watched on your channel, I didn't even knew that there is such a great content on youtube.
+Leczeero I never knew there was great content here either LOL! Thanks for watching us ration eaters. Cheers
If You liked the instant tea, You really need to try eating it dry. :D
yeah XD
That was very interesting.
I always prefer watching the really exotic looking stuff, great job man!

Great video. You should keep inserting the little stories into the review. I enjoyed the mugging story
Wow these seem to be far superior to USA MREs. I would like to try each of the menus A,B, and C. It is pretty amazing what other countries come up with. Cheers to you Poland, keep up the good work.
Hungry Polish are Pissed off Polish
Thanks for the review! another great video!
Gundog4314 I love your vids! You rock man! Keep it up!
the "mistery stuff" we used to call "małpa" or "małpina" which stands for "monkey meat". it is poultry or pork spam, depends on particular "eska" (s-ration). personally my favouride was km201 and kd102. (km - konserwa miesna (meat) kd- drobiowa (poultry) i used to serve in 16 airborne assault battalion from Krakow
Another great review mate.
Always enjoy your reviews. Yes its saturday night and im home relaxing and watching. Good old Atlantic City. I lived there for five yrs. And one year in Ventor. Worked at showboat casino.
awesome review as always
Yay!!I love your videos so much♥3♥
-Your huge fan,all the way from Korea😙
Yay I'm from Poland so happy u did this one!😊
Love your review!👍🏻 if you ever need translation from Polish please don't hesitate to ask. :)
According to the card from 3:27 you had meatballs in vegetable sauce on the left and pork neck with vegetables in sauce on the right. The smaller cans were both spam type, one was pork with a bit of beef (mielonka tyrolska) and the other was chicken spam (not pate). The softer crackers was something we call light bread and it's made from rye (there's no sourdough used in the process).
+sanshinron I should have you help me translate my next one. I just got a SRG-3.
gundog4314 np just send me a message with pictures.
+gundog4314 I am afraid that you'll find SRG-3 as a challenge.
This MRE contains bigos. Metaphorically, bigos means "confusion", "big mess" or "trouble" in Polish. Bigos known as a hunter's stew (a stew of sauerkraut and meat, mainly kiełbasa, including cabbage) it is example typical of Polish, Lithuanian, Belarusian and Ukrainian cuisine.
If it comes to its origin some saying that first time it was invented by Lithuanian Grand Duke who became Polish king Władysław Jagiełło in 1385 and who supposedly served it to his hunting-party guests and that is how the fundamentals for Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was created ;)
Anyway fingers crossed for you. :))
Good to know about the handle. Pretty cool this comes with a giant chocolate bar. Love the drinks on these polish rations. Nice review. Have a nice week. 😊👋🏻🇨🇦
*Greetingz from Poland*
I can understand inscriptions on the packaging. Yes, I'm from Poland. It's nice to see someone from foreign country trying our military rations.
Man.. I forgot how great Gun Dogs reviews were back in the day. He talks normal unlike his current reviews where he sounds like he's talking to a group of children.
I just tucked into one of these today with my Polish colleague. Food for two for a day for office workers :)
man this video really helps as i have one and will do a field test with it this year, ill give you a mention and kiwi too.
its gonna be tough eating all this in 24hrs lol
like the coffee cup story haha cool.
take care mate
+funkyprepper I think you'll like it and it is A LOT of food. Can't wait to see the field test! Cheers Funky
+gundog4314 Hellow how much did you pay for this ration? (without counting sending)
It was donated by a viewer and Polish Soldier. Great people out there!
+gundog4314 allright! thanks for the answer
hay Funky how have you been doing? good to see you here. I have one of these for a biker rally this weekend in Yorkshire, hope it sustains me!!
Your Atlantic City, NJ Bachelor pastry story reminds me of the Atlantic City parties and adventures from How I Met Your Mother. That story seems legend, wait for it... , dary! Legendary!
Cool review. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, that's a lot of tasty-looking food! I've always liked the little stoves a lot of the rations come with. Also, the rounded tip of the plastic knife is probably so it won't poke its way out of the plastic bag it comes in.
in Polish Army the cracers are called: "panzercracer" you can eat it with honey or jam but also with the small meat can :)
Wow these rations are producing in my hometown (Kielce)
+Piotrek Suchy Lucky!
+Piotrek Suchy wow your hometown and my city are in the same country :)
+Piotrek Suchy Ciekawy jestem gdzie i czemu do niedawna nie można ich było kupić w CK

I am polish and i had no clue about what goes in there so thank you :) I love watching your videos ♥
If things work out I'll be going to Poland within the next year. Kinda excited since it will be my first trip there. Cheers!
@@gundog4314 i Hope that was the same
The stuff in the can is called (in norway) Erter, kjøtt og flesk (Peas, meat and pork). :)
With the cold weather here in NZ those entrees look absolutely amazing. Nothing beats a wintry chill like some form of hot stew. Of course whether the Polish soldier has the chance heat it up during operations may detract from the appeal somewhat lol. a cold blob of congealed, fatty stew does quite the opposite for one's appetite XD
That coffee mug has had a much more exciting life than I have.
A tip regarding mystery cans: main meals have no labels under the plastic lid, but you can see some info printed there, especially the initial code. The first of the two cards seen at 3:41 shows: 'Contents, net weight, code' in bold font and ingredients below. In this case it's Meatballs in vegetable sauce 300 g KWM 705 and Pork neck in vegetable sauce 300 g KM 701. The second card is a menu with items divided into meals A (breakfast), B (dinner) and C (supper) + accessories. Below the table you can find preparing instructions. Thus the first 'big' can that you inspect has a line starting with KWM 705 which means it's meatballs and belongs to the meal A (breakfast) set. The second one is KM 701 (you hold it upside down but it's visible). Hope that helps in the future. Also, I can't fathom why won't they make a translation of it, it's like a one day job.
+krzysztofikrzysztof Thanks!
+krzysztofikrzysztof Meatballs for breakfast? Yeah, baby.
+GildaLee27 Well, that's what's suggested in the menu layout. Also, they had to put it somewhere to meet the 3682 kcal/day requirement and giving a soldier extra energy for supper seems counterproductive so yeah, meatballs AND canned poultry for breafast.
heh, love me some favorite coffee mug stories, who doesn't have a favorite mug or two?
I zaraz mi przynosili kilkanaście sztuk.
I do mapnika wkładałem. A potem jak towarzystwo zgłodniało to co poniektóry się prosiła - daj serek bo jestem głodny. Spierdalaj, jaki serek? No przecież wszyscy wiemy, że nosisz w mapniku. No i jak tu nie dać?
Tak mi się przypomniały młode lata i różne śmieszne rzeczy, ale nie ma czasu ich opisywać.
За братьев славян можно порадоваться. Обстоятельно подходят к сухпаю.
That looks awesome. I would probably use the tank treads for meatshovels and the others to crumble in/eat with the stews and sweet toppings. ... Or maybe make a hash out of the smeat and the crispbreads and fry it. Good reviews gundog, thanks man!
No, use the tank treads for meat shovels, the crispbread for the stew.
Did you watch the video?
Keep up the good work! :)
the cup chip really really annoyed me in the past even though i enjoy your vids but now i am happy, thanks for the explanation
Good stuff man
On the subject of the fruit pouch I recommend adding about 1oz of hot water give a good stir and let cool down. I've just finished mine and cut the pouch open to see if I missed any fruit.....damn that some nice fruit mix for freeze dried.
You kept the cup, but did you keep your friend after he threw it at you?
First opened can: looks like pork neck with carrots, black beans with something that might be cooked barley/barley grains(I dont know correct english term), or white beans.
Coating on this fruit bar is not sugar, it is made of flour and water and helps keep hand clean. It is edible but tastes like paper ;-)
Those canned meats/spam, are considered as of very bad quality in Poland, kinda shame that they are in MRE. First one is pork spam and second one is chicken spam.
Coffee sweets are high on caffeine, better do not eat more than one.
***** Well maybe it is one of very bad quality, but if you're hungry these cans of spam taste very good.
***** Still looks pretty good to me. I don't know what it tastes like, that would make or break it for me.
***** MRE is not a 3 star restaurant ;) I buy similar items (separetly) If I have to or am to lazy to cook. They really do their job and most importantly don't taste bad. I think you just don't understand the essence of a meal-ready-to-eat (not a meal prepared by a chef, served by a well tipped waiter but a meal made to *sustain* you in a COMBAT situation). My grandfather was so hungry during the WWII that he ate gypsum of the walls; imagine that.
+Mr. Krzemień As of this polutry can, it's actually pretty good quality. ~70% meat, non mechanically processed.
+Dore yup and grass from the fields
Polish food is awesome! :)
8:43, in Poland we use that to keep da food inside of it, to prolong the edibility date.
14:05 U are not suppossed to heat it, it's just luncheon meat, you know meat and sausage mixed together, you can eat this cold with bread :)
If it is a polish ration they should include a dehydrated cabbage. My grandmother is polish (of 88 years old) and is absolutely nuts about cabbage.
Haha, i've got to watch it, because I'm from Poland 😄
Just picked up the S-RG 3 last weekend, at an annual militaria fair for just under 12 $. The guy selling them, sadly, only had the S-RG 3...and I had a list of other things to buy :-(
I shouldn;t watch these whil e I am in the hospital. They make me hungry.
Gundog I have a question... how on earth are you and everyone else I watch that's part of MRE Info getting the hard plastic trays? Where I am from which is 2hours away from Richmond, Va we used these trays for our lunch from head start all the way up until I graduated in 2016 and I know the college I'm going to be starting next summer for radiology has these as well.
Easy to find. Just type in sectioned tray on ebay a zillion of them will pop up.
you can eat the dry tea is very tasty : D
41 minute review? that's like a documentary. lol
You can buy special compounds that fill in chips like that, try you local DIY store
My cousin figured out how to sort of "stretch" this particular ration to make it seem like each meal is bigger and more satisfying.
For breakfast, make a porridge out of the fruit and nut mix, one packet of bread, and one packet of crackers. Eat with one cans of potted meat.
Lunch, the other potted meat, the bar and the other bread.
Dinner, both big cans, and the rest of the crackers.
The pork bean stew thing actually looks appetizing.
my favorite mre. good stuff. good portion size
good meat
I have got to try one of these :)
best meal in my opinion
Dobre Bo Polskie ;]
haha :D
wlasnie
I am waving the flag for the French ration packs, they are the best I'v had so far.
love your videos!!
I watched Kiwi Dude for a while now and he mentioned you a lot, so I decided to watch your video's. They are amazing and I can't wait to see more new video's in the future!!!!
Congrats on getting a new subscriber!!
and keep the awesome video's coming!!
:-)
Smacznego! :D
The first dish is pork's neck in vegetables and they have sour cabbage in it, the second is pork plus beef meat balls (with semolina in meat balls), the large spam is pork and beef spam (mainly pork) and the small spam is a chicken spam.
big cans has number so check the list (1 of 2 ) to find out what u cooking :D
I've always wanted to try a mre
I really enjoy the reviews...usually, though, you break the 24 hour ration items down into breakfast, lunch and dinner...you did not do that this time...any reason on the changeup?
+Ron Schramm I change stuff up all the time, sometimes logistics as it's easier to do everything at once. When I have time and it's relatively quiet I can space things out. Cheers
I'm not sure but you probably got the old version with open flame heating. The last time I got this on the field was with chemical heater like in US MRE. They change it because flame is visible from miles away in good clear night. You may had a 90s version who knows.
+kałamarz bal You got me but the date on the bag was current. Cheers!
Good, high calorie meals. Couple of those in the Go-Bag will keep you well-fed. Thanks for the review.
I would love to keep them around, but for some reason two of these same type of rations had catastrophic fails. Steve1989 had one and I had one blow up like a balloon (pic on my fb page). It is good chow though!
tak tak dużo jedzenia , a dlaczego a no dla Tego że jak POLAK GŁODNY to i ZŁY :)
seems like a fair portion
a jak Polak zły to giną ludzie
Just give us ration without any meat... we would be pissed :D
Where do u get these I want to get the British pack
This is a good rat pack, it just needs a small bottle of vodka in each pack to go with the cups and it will the envy of soldiers the world over.
Del Lawrence should take heart from the Italians they got alcohol in their ration.
31:23 it is meant to be eaten cold so you done it correctly by not heating it
PanzerWaffles are in the polish market for a decade's. Used by tourists' and hikers. Cumin in them can stop stomach problems. They so hard so you have something to eat while on hike but not to much so you want be to full. You can use them as a Sapi plates too 😉
If you freeze-frame at 18.00 you can see a weird face in the centre of the stirred coffee.
39:50 Kofik producent Roksana, Strzyzow, Poland. 1kg coast 20-22 PLN. Only 5 USD.
Yes.
I'm polish and a total MRE hound. I need these! I wish finding international rations was as easy as finding american ones here lol
americanskie ssą srakę
A chipped mug from AC sounds perfect so long as you don’t try to use the chip at the blackjack tables
Unfortunately that mug met with its demise....just another reason not to get married again HAHA
Breaking that mug alone would be grounds for divorce, if not a justifiable homicide dfence.
I like the way you think HAHA
If only the police prosecutor had felt the same. **Sigh**
Greetings from Polish :)
realy thank you for this video
+منير مختاري Cheers!
It seems like you can get most of the things from grosory store which makes me think that its pretty cheep looking MRE.
yummie. This polish S-RG taisted like home cooked food. And i love this polish S-RG
If you Don’t whant to use the fule tablets for the pungent smell. Just use a small amount of alocohole hand gel. It will burn cleaner and have a small smell but the smell will go away.
It is not sugar coating.
it is rice payper witch you can eat.
That story reminds me of my 21st. I remember some of it. I lost my hat, and some other things. I would have never traded that time for anything. It always helps to have good friends with you lol.
NerosDrunkGaming Eh also I woke up at my house confused at where I was.
NerosDrunkGaming Been there done that
Does anyone know where i can buy these? I have searched high and low :-), thanks 4 the reviews, very well done :-)
Niklas Ljungblom I got this from a Polish Soldier. You can get something similar by going to the Arpol website. Link on the where I get my stuff vids
How are you I love mre's from all over the world do you know we're I can buy them at please any info is helpful
+Kenneth Brinson Best place to go is mreinfo.com and trade for them. Cheers Kenneth
This entire meal is just a stereotypical Polish meal. I think a cool touch would be a powdered barszcz drink.
I know this is an old video and I hope you see this comment as I'm just seeing this video that I can recall for the first time in 2023 I would like to see you dear review of current active rations around the world especially with the change in the current climate around the world will be interesting to see what people are feeding their military now
Love watching these....kiwi dude and the rest. The only one I have trouble with is Steve1989. Everytime I watch the old ration videos I gag....I got my nephew who's a Marine watching these and he thinks Steve1989 is trying to kill himself..lol .
Yo, Gundog, found out problems on posting, account settings on Gmail. Wanted to say, great vid, as always, and a dozen things more, after this many days, forgot all was going to tell you, glad I hadn't made mad, my major concern friend, was worried, Peace, Magnum, John, And jack says hello to Alligator and other pup !!! Keep E,' coming brother, issues my end, thought I made mad, never want to offend a friend, thought I had Peace
MultiMagnum62 Yeah google has a way of throwing snafus at us from time to time. Cheers!
So you say when your friend got mugged he threw a mug at you?
Well, he might of been nicer if we hadn't started laughing in his face after he told us he got his butt kicked. What are friends for except to point out your shortcomings and laugh at the dumb stuff you do eh? Cheers
That was a bad pun from my part XD
Cheers LP!
Nice
All of the stuff on the tray is one meal? look alright though
