Я один русский?
poor man's caviar. very delicious
Thanks, man. I got the same stuff but had no idea what "caviar of eggplant" meant.
Russians many years ago does not grow zucchini and eat some this can only richest mans. Will do caviar from zucchini or eggplant and eat this with bread.
Fish caviar can eat usually citizens
Hello! This diet is designed for a day for one person. do not need to mix products from different packages. in each box is an instruction that is recommended to eat and when. it is very nutritious. This I will say as a reserve lieutenant. Bon Appetit!))))
+Сергей М Thanks for the info my friend! Cheers
+gundog4314 On the contrary it was necessary to put. Blunt ends down. Before warming, you need to mix to the porridge from sticking. Thanks for the detailed comment. Interesting to see how the discussion of the Russian IRP in the eyes of foreigners;))
I agree. The downfall of not using anything except natural.. Cheers
Thanks for information
Don't worry about expiration dates. Canned food doesn't go bad unless it leaks or bulges.
There were tests done on cans from WWII and even Civil War. After all those years they lost most of their nutrients but there was nothing poisonous in their content.
I remember the tests on the civil food & was amazed that it was still edible.
Steve1989 eats plenty of 100 yr old food
4:16 it's an instruction manual for MRE
6:22 it's a list of expiration dates for sugar, salt, and pepper. It says that they were made in september 2013, and will expire in september 2015.
IRPs are issued rarely, usually on travelling or on the field trainings that are too quick and intensive to establish a field kitchen, so these lots of fat are not an everyday ration
In 1985 in Kaliningrad (former Koenigsberg), we dug out zinc box (german army) with 4 banks canned vegetables made in 1944. It was tasty.
I love how legit your videos are, man. You don't skip your mistakes, your stuttering or talk like a 12 year old on a sugar rush. This feels like i'm spending time with some kind of MRE enthusiastic uncle or something. So cool.
+Your Rad Uncle Cal Thanks Cal, on one of gschultz or kiwi dudes vids someone refered to me as the :crazy uncle of the family" haha! Glad you enjoy the vids. Cheers
Agreed! Love the authenticity. Maybe split the 24hr rations up over a day like Steve does, but otherwise awesome!
Im Polish, but damn - i love our slavic food. It's tasty and lasts for really long time, not like western fast-foods or something. Belive me, nothing is better than good old meat with potatoes. Google "schabowy" to see what we eat.
+TheAmazur20 Yeah that looks quite good. I'd always rather have a nice steak than fast food any day of the week.
I got this MRE, menu 2. For food, it came with rice and beef porridge, that incredible beef stew, brain pate (!!!), spreadable cheese, apple butter spread, fruit bar, and crackers. Oh and "caviar of eggplant", whatever that is. I've only eaten the porridge, stew, pate, and cheese. The porridge mixed with the stew was a delight!
Glad you enjoy it as much as I do! Cheers
Wow! This looks like a hell of a lot healthier than the crap western armies get. Kasha is made from buckwheat, and is an awesome alternative to wheat for people who have problems eating wheat and other cereals. Buckwheat is also nutritionally much better than rice and wheat. (Ya ne russkiy, no ya yem kasha kashdiy utro! Ochen lyublu kasha! ). Well looking at this, I'll trade you my MRE for your IRP!
dude have you seen the Australian Army's new ration packs?
we have things like "skinless chicken and wild rice" another was something like "Chili Tuna and whole wheat pasta" and different stuff
besides when you are in the field you actually need a lot of fat that's what gives you energy...

Среди обзоров иностранцев на наш ИРП - это самый профессиональный. Очень радует такой подход :)

спасибо
You just tell those doubters to look up beef congee! It's a staple in many countries, and can be made with fish or chicken as well. Yum!
That Adapton drink has a flavour of rose hip (mostly)
Икра баклажанная - eggplant caviar - mashed eggplants (spread on bread and eat)
Hmmm, that is a great idea for it. I almost can't wait to get some again to try it!
I''ve had school lunch and this actually looks like it might taste better.
lol
This beats any Obamalunch any day hands down, even if the irp has been carried in someone's ass for a decade. (Pulp fiction, my friend, Pulp fiction). This looks like some really decent food in comparison to what they get in the west. I can read most of what it says on the cans and this is pretty much typical Russian food. I have never sat down to a school Obamalunch, but just looking at them on the internet you can taste how crappy that stuff most be.
I used to eat rats instead of school lunch. Best decision ever
+Der Kaiser lol
These are usually sold as VV MVD rations or MVD humanitarian rations. They're basically the same contents as the bigger Russian Army IRPs, but less of it. Sadly you don't get the speck and you get one less pate, two less fruit drinks, one less coffee and one less dessert.
But they're a little lighter to carry in a go-bag and cheaper to get hold of, and still quite delicious.
So it has the meals, but it seems to differ from many rations by not having a lot of in-between munchies.
The stuff you'd pack in pockets to use as energy boosts during the day.
I finally got mine three days ago! It took almost two months but it was worth it! Now I'm just trying to get everything translated. Its a good thing I'm taking Russian classes right now. Can't wait to order some more of these. I've also been thinking of getting some Chinese rations as well.
+albmartinez314 Let me know if you do. Have a good contact for the Chinese stuff so can pass it along to you. Cheers
+gundog4314
So apparently, I got the same ration as the one you have here. Its gonna make translating everything a whole lot easier.
I'd say so! Enjoy!
+gundog4314
Now that you do mention it, I think I will go ahead and get some Chinese rations. Would it be okay if you could message who you get them from?
+albmartinez314
Is it from No East Too Far?
This is one excellent review! Thorough and well-made. Keep up the good work and my best regards from Siberia!;)
+Vitali Knyazeff Cheers Vitali!
+gundog4314 may I buy a mcw or lrp or MRE off of you?
+gundog4314 where is the ww2 c-rations
Huey Freeman do u mean Vietnam that's when c-rations were invented
Great review! I've got a couple of these laying around, now I'm anxious to give them a try.
+Kyle Starr Just make sure the are in date. These aren't full of preservatives like western stuff. Cheers
I bought one of these on EBay to try for myself, in the beginning you mention something about the bottom of the bag, that's actually a zip seal so you can put everything back into the bag to carry it for later. Pretty neat. I can't wait to try the food!
I ended up cutting the bag right below it so I could see what it was... I guess I ruined the resealable bag feature, lol.
i just ordered the same irp today, cant wait to try it
i also recommend to try: ИРПБ(this combat diet), ИРП option number 7(it considered one most delucios), option for special forсes and option for airborn.
+Крокодил Крокодилыч Thanks, I have a number 2 right now. Will definitely look for a number 7 for a future review. Cheers!
gundog4314 goog luck and bon appetit.
+Крокодил Крокодилыч Is there any cheap place to buy these in St. Petersburg?
fenixwylde you need special stores. They called "voentorg"(военторг). They sell the goods for the needs russian army and navy, including those rations.
+Крокодил Крокодилыч
Почти хочу присоединитьса в русскую армию для такой жратвы >.>
Looks like Russian rations are getting good.
+111mrhead At same period of time it was bad?
+Konabis Soviet rations were crap. Soviet field kitchens were great by the 60's. But field rations were for dogs. As bad as US K and C rats.
+111mrhead
In Russia, there are more solder - Russian rations fed the best in the world
+111mrhead and this is not the only option. only for their army of at least 12 and still have for aviation, sailors, lifeguards, police, tourism and so-called "emergency". most importantly, they water
+Сергей М It contains pork or lard ?
Kiwi Dude is a wizzard with these kind of stoves! ;)
Great review friend !!! Keep EM' coming. Peace, Magnum, John.
Well, I ordered mine about almost two months ago. Still haven't received it, but I'm looking forward to trying it!
Another great review. I was in a Moroccan restaurant that had an eggplant salad similar to the one in your IRP. BTW, how's the shoulder?
Just got my russian IRP from ebay. I told my wife (she is from Russia, I`m not) that we`re gonna try some russian food this evening that she has probably never tastet before. At least not in this "configuration". Looking forward to test/taste it. :-) Thanks for a good video by the way.
+Svein Arne Sletten That's awesome! It's not gourmet but it is nourishing. Let me know how you both like it. Cheers!
We liked it both. :-) I`ve served in the military for several years, so I`m used to this type of food. But that pumpkin-looking stuff tasted terrible. Even the cat would`nt touch it.... Being a native russian, my wife could indeed testify that this is typical russian food. We got a different candy-bar, with orange. That was really good. :-)
i think this food is more humanized than the us version
pierre jean U.S. version is designed to last longer.
@@Rain-tt9dr Not necessarily, I'd much rather trust canned goods over bags lmao.
Some of that liver pate would shut your dog up.
this one actually looks pretty tasty. i do soviet reenacting for ww2 and actually make a buckwheat porrage kasha for a demonstartion in the morning hours for when visitors first show up. i think i am going to see if i can find some different recipies after watching this.
When warming those meat and all other stuff you should open it and mix it (Rice and meat with vegetables) that would be how it supposed to be.
oh yeah, as a heads up there's a zipper at the bottom of the outer pouch. helps keep it together through the day.
Adjust ordered one. I should have it in about a month.
So I ended up ordering two of these today. I don't mind if it takes a while for them to get here, I am really looking forward to trying them. They look much more appealing than MREs. Its also gonna be interesting going through all the contents considering I'm starting to learn Russian at the moment.
+TheM4hero
I got them on Ebay and depending on who you buy them from, they can be anywhere from $7.50-8.00 or more. Shipping is around $25.00. At least it was for me.
Sure is entertaining to watch do you collect these or ?.
the kasha looks like cabbage roll filling. that stuff tastes great with soya sauce
+nexusvideo That sounds like an excellent idea!
hey gundog I enjoy your videos and I wanted to try a mre do you know a good starter one? Also best of luck to future videos can't wait to see. :D
+lukevader240 Pasta ones are pretty good to start with. The Chicken Pesto and Asian Beef Strups are real good too. Cheers
Good for you. ))) i was just ready for another funny Russian MRE overviewing but You prepared for filming by checking the translation of meals names before.
Awesome video as always... Seems to be a worthwhile pack the Russian one
That Mre looks good
That Apple jam looks a lot like apple butter, now I'm craving it lol
How are the cases of MRE's you can buy? Are they worth the cost?
The isotonic drink is intended to be like a thing herbalist could offer - phitotherapy is popular in Russia, but apparently not as popular than in my country, since anybody who has studied medicinal herbsknow that each of them must be prepared in specific way, none of which includes turning into soluble powder.
+Ieva Zagante Take e.g bilberry - berries that are gathered when they are ripe, but not yet soft, help against diaorrhea and gassiness, whether as very ripe, soft berries can helpa against constipation. Berries can be preserved first drying them in the sun, but then moving in a suitable device where temperature can be gradually increased to 60 centigrade.
+Ieva Zagante Or fruits of wild roses (I saw them on the packet of isotonic drink) - they must be diried within one day at temperature up to 90 cetigrade ( I mean Celsius scale), providing good ventilation, or else fruits must be spread in thin layer and kept at temperature of about 3 degrees Celsius - this way they will last up to 3 days.
+Ieva Zagante huh! very interesting stuff. Thanks for sharing!
How could I get one of these never been able to try a mre would be cool to try one
Eating this while watching, not the same menu though.. :D
Excellent review, excellent ration, pet Alligator for me.
+senecawind yooper Done, she says Thank You!
I just ate the porridge for breakfast. I didn’t get any powdered milk or purification tabs. Not bad! Now, let’s take it over to lunch!
Just arrived! I saw so many of these videos, I had to get one (actually two). Whoever said smell triggers memories the fastest was right. About 0.4 seconds after opening the meat/peas/carrots meal I was back in the 90's again.... Hah!
Strangest beef stew I've yet seen mate!
Great review. Could it have been somekind of rosehip drink. I need to get some mre and irp and try myself
+hosio1 Rosehip jam is gud stuff!
+hosio1 It could have been. It was very nice to drink
That eggplant stuff is probably baba ghanoush. It is very similar to hummus in texture and fantastic on just about anything.
I'm starting to see a trend with non-US MRE type rations, not alot seem to use the same water heat bag system we use, is there a reason for that? Is it better or worse in anyway?
+Chimera262 There are quite a few that use water reaction heaters. I think it all comes down to the bottom line, cost, ease of use, weight and mobility. After using FRH types, chemical fuel tabs, gel, butane, propane the best way I have found to consistently heat food and not burn anything is to use boiling water. Works for cans, foil tins, and flexible cans (retort pouches). Cheers!
Hey what's the difference between these packages and the standard MRE stuff that comes in plastic bags? Are these supposed to be consumed within a year or something? Does the Russian Army have US style MRE's?
This is a type of MRE produced in the Russian Federation. The packaging of the contents is different for just about every country. Having your stuff in a cardboard box helps to keep the contents from being damaged, unlike a plastic bag that MREs are stored in. As far as the consumption dates, the IRPs do tend not last as long as they don't have all the artificial additives and preservatives the west uses. Cheers
What kind of music at the beginning of the video?
Cool video and I definitely want to get me some of those.
As to the other IRP I wonder if it is based on the soviet rations. The reason I am curious is the KLMK pattern and the company logo on the package is nearly identical to a CCCP hallmark. I am familiar with the design because I collect soviet film cameras and I have seen a near identical logo on most of them. So I wonder if the company is looking to cash in on a little soviet nostalgia or perhaps they are an older company with connections to the old soviet system. Just an interesting observation.
+Red River Scout What? You meant the pentagonal mark? It's just a state quality mark and nothing more.
Secundo Primo Yes, That is the one I am referring to. Good to know. I just remember seeing it on a bunch of my old Zenit cameras. lol
+Red River Scout Good stuff. The seal of quality used to actually mean something back in the 50's to 70's, but after that, they just started putting it on everything.
Thank you for the good review. I even wanted to buy a set))). Now in Russia its prise is 5.10 dollars. I will buy it tomorrow.
+Евгений Владимирович Wow! That's a great price. Wish they were that cheap to get here. I hope you enjoy it my friend. Let me know how you liked it. Cheers
do you finish eating these after the video, or do you just throw it out?
The kasha looked like brains!
Delicious zombie brains LOL! Cheers
What vodka(s) do you drink? Im a fan of Ketal One and Russian Standard.
+janenba352 Rot gut cheap stuff so I can buy more of it LOL
Great review, the food is looking pretty tasty. Thought it funny the wife took the alcohol:)
at 6:38 is the thing you could use to open all plastic packs.
Hi :)
I love the Norwegian liver paste... you know, that with the happy child outside ;) if you use good bread... good butter, then some majo... and some picles... or something else ... some black pepper... then you have luxus food :D
Best regards from Norway.
:)
Hey Gundog, do you know how Kiwi Dude is doing? haven't seen anything from him in quite a while.
The isotopic drink - Adapton - must be made with cold water :)
what about the vitamin tablet
man I want one of those for my Bug out bag! do you know anywhere to find them? I saw the spec pit on the commercial IRP but do you know anywhere else?
+Nicholas Geil Ebay www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=Russian+ERP&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.XRussian+MRE.TRS0&_nkw=Russian+MRE&_sacat=0
how many languages can you speak/read?
now that looks like a really decent ration.. im hungry now..
Man! It's so cold! Warm it harder!
Eggplant Caviar, really good on toasted dark bread :)
+Lizzi Apple Oh man, I bet that would have been good. Cheers Lizzi
прикольный обзор)
Where can one buy this?
The wife told me to inform you to always heat these up and pour the fat out of the cans. She says that's the way they eat it in Izhevk
+Dude_piston88 I'm living in Izhevsk too and your wife talking true things. Sorry for my english.
were in the hell can i get one of these really wanna try one
TheFatman0110 eBay
I have never seen an irp like that
I want to move to Russia. Lots of things i like.
Welcome. Many people from Europe come to live and work in Russia, and suggests that in Russia more freedom and opportunities to realize themselves. Less listen to political propaganda of Russia (if we have the dictatorship, and so on) and feel free to come to visit, if you like - stay. But be prepared to teach the Russian language and Russian traditions.
Spasibo komrade. It says that i have both Russian and Isish blood from my fathers side. I wanna learn the Russian language but don't find any good teachings yet. I can only a few words yet but i will be better on it. I have my beliefs.
Ilya Smirnov Well, people who only know Russia from the TV. A great superpower where life is nice and easy. Though it's not true Russia where some people cannot even afford food and the corruption makes millions run from their own home...
@@HB013b so, you a russian and run away from your house away from corruption? If not, just stfo, brainwashed doll.
This its a 1 day ration?, so Everyday you getting 1 of these box, not bad at all
Another trend, those metal tins.
Well metal containers are the best for preserving food so that trend makes sense...there´s a reason why all the everlasting food you need for the zombiecalypse is found in tin cans. :p
The comments You mentioned that there is no such thing as rice porridge with beef are correct. Kaša is kaša, rice is rice. Kaša is made of barley or buckwheat.
just ordered my first one russian mre
James Derynck how was it?
very good goal is to try other country's
In Russia meal eats you.
yea yea

You assume too much. I love Russia.
I Am The Law well i got 10 frends that is born in russia and is still lives in russia and they dont think thoes in russia jokes are funny neither does i
God you are such a better reviewer than that guy Aldiun Hearth
+:I We all have our audiences we appeal to. He's really a nice guy. Cheers
I'm I the only one that looks at Russian rations with this type of bag, and realises that there is a ziplock seal on the bottom? As soon as I got mine (packed in 2015, expires in 2017), I looked at the bottom and saw that that was the end to open it at, as it has a ziplock seal.
just bought one off ebay and waiting for it
Is that a G-Shock that you are wearing?
+tacticalnpractical Yep, good eyes!
I would bet that alot of these rations , the soupy ones might well be done by pressure cooker, its fast and cooks easy if you know what your doing , anyone know?
Sniper on mreinfo might know he is one of the IRP experts. I just eat them HAHA!
I was wondering where the stove piece was, then you started folding the silver bottom of the wrapper.......... Derrrrrrrrrrrr. I need sleep. It's 0012 here, G'night Folks
Kommrade: why does "milk" have gray-green colour? Also, why didn't you take "vitamin" pill? ~ Boris
where can I buy one of these?
ebay/amazon
Silence! I keel you!
ware do you get the food from
Michelle Marshall he got it from eBay
Where do you go to find these?
+ewwang2 You can find them for a decent price on ebay or an online Russian surplus store. You can trade for them on mreinfo.com too. Cheers
Were did you order these from? They look superior to American MRE's.
This was a deal on ebay. Every once in awhile you can find a listing for 20 bucks including shipping. Took 2 months to get there but was still within date if i recall.
Zip lock on bottom to store and reuse. Don't cut top
pate and tinned sausages the likes of spam from overseas etc are never to be heated and the jelly or butter or layer of fat is to be eaten. They're all like that and they're eaten that way. If you go into to a French shop that caters in pate and things like that there is always a fat ring all the way around and that is the way it is purchased and eaten. but I have known people in England and other countries who would race to get the jelly from a three-pound tinned ham scraping it all off and out of the can for themselves!
everywhere that I have been around the world, people use the powdered milk in its powdered form for coffee , tea and the like.
You mean creamer? It's plant based.
What's difference between the stewed beef, and the beef stew? Btw, I share your query about the real fruit juice thing :) .
Beef stew is beef on stew and stewed beef is beef that is stewed
Huey Freeman So, one is boiled beef, and the other is boiled beef with some sort of vegetable soup accompanying it?
+Jaybird196
Yes. Stewed beef is beef in its own juice while beef stew is beef with vegetables, usually carrot, celery and/or potato traditionally with a tomato base or brown gravy.
+abcmole All right :) . Thanks.
Jaybird196
No problem my friend. :)
vodka is just moonshine that didn't make it, trust me gundog your lucky she took it!
