this is absolutely brilliant i’m a young lad (14) and i even i adore this song , so nice to see all of these lovely people do something special in lockdown which would’ve really lifted people’s spirits
Brilliant ..well done guys and girls .. bet George would never have guessed this would be going so long after his death ... Pass his grave in Warrington ever other week you can see it from the road .. always seem to be flowers on it .. 😀
You are a marvel. As I said on Facebook, a copy should be sent to our Queen. A copy should be put in the GFS archives for posterity.and I’m sure that our wonderful Society will recognise ALL the work that you do for all of us.
Thankyou so much Matt for making this video for us. You have made a fantastic job of it. Our virtual thrashes are now part of our daily lives and this video will be the lasting memory of it. You are a Star! Thank you :))
From across the pond, you all have made me so happy with your video. Bravo to everyone involved! I'll be singing and strumming this one nonstop for the next week. Thanks for putting a smile back on my face and for the new earworm 😁 👍
I have got my long neglected Cartwright Banjo Ukulele out, tuned up and strummed along! Well done Matthew. An absolutely fantastic contribution and a great fillip in a difficult time. Another poster said it but it will stand repeating - this is joyous! Thanks a million!
Great fun! Would be wonderful if you shared with everybody the mechanics of how you put this together! We uke club leaders are getting incredible flack when others see this, and other similar videos, as to why our own uke groups can’t all “play together at the same time” like this on Zoom. Of course, we CAN’T do this on Zoom because of audio latency, but try to explain this to others when they see this!
It's the backing Matt did on one of the CDs for the George Formby Society (he's the musical director). Sadly, I think the GFS shop is shut during lockdown.
Brilliant.... Well done..... George was a hero of mine..... Well done you lot. 👀

George is probably up there now giving the big boss lessons 😶🌫️
He'll be happy knowing that after all these years people still love him.
Phenomenal. Six and a half of the most entertaining moments on RUclips. I found myself singing along and playing my air banjolele. Thank you all!

Likewise Susan, we are also being asked how to do it :)
The members sent me videos they each recorded themselves, and I joined them all together on my end.
Delightful
Great
Is there someone who would teach me the Formby strumming? Thank you.
Anyone know what backing track that is?
It's the backing Matt did on one of the CDs for the George Formby Society (he's the musical director). Sadly, I think the GFS shop is shut during lockdown.
I produced the backing track. If you wish to obtain any formby backings feel free to get in touch
@@matthewrichards88 Thanks, will do. And great job on the edit.
@@oofy99 The GFS shop is open again! www.georgeformby.co.uk/shop.html
