Hey Roman, you're one of my favorite gear reviewers. Thank you for always using the Strat and AC30. Those are pretty well known towns and gives all of us a baseline that we know well.
the best settings for this pedal ( OD mode ) is : Internal treble switch full counterclockwise ; trim pot 1 & 2 down position. It will give you a more sweet and warm overdrive !! The factory pre set is very bad !!
Please demo this with an 8-string guitar, as I play extended-range, and want to hear how this will sound with the lower end as well... I play Jazzy-Ambient-Rock kinda stuff.
Yes, according to Analogman's website it's completely safe to run in 18v - more headroom. You can buy 18Volt DC Y-cable PPY for PedalPower-2 for around 6.50 USD.
What if I could tell You there's an Overdrive out there right now that costs $49.88 that will convince You to...lets say... Drop the Prince of Tone straight off your Pedal Board and make that Switch? I'm a Guitar Player...I've been playing over 50 years and this Overdrive Pedal I'm speaking of just blew Me away! I'm sad to say it also blew away many of my High Dollar Overdrives too, you know, the $200. to $450 Overdrives...Sounds too good to be True? Well, it's NOT! In this case "Tone is Subjective" doesn't count...You really can't argue with this one, the Ears don't Lie! All I'm going to say to throw a hint to all you Git'tar Players out there is this Overdrive closely resembles a Jan Ray Vemuram...
the straty twang of a strat make NEARLY any crunch pedal sound good because of that twanginess...this should be demoe'd with a humbucker equipped guitar as well the single coil guitar for a better example of what it can do with the two most used guitar types...single and humbucker....

Agree with that! I'm always looking to prevent my Vox type amp from sounding like a marshall
Geeze, Louise! Killer demo, Mr. Shnobel. I've never heard the PoT like this! You may have convinced me to get one

Thank you so much for this...6 years later haha. I love mine but way too bright especially with an ac30. Gonna try this asap
Its a go to overdrive pedal for me
Wow, think I've finally found an od that i really like
another great demo - thanks!
Great Test…! Many Thanks …, ps and internal switch…!?
So does the boost actually boost volume a good amount ? Like boost for a solo
Sounds great bro. I think you sold me on it.
What about Mike P. And MXR’s Collaboration of the Klon’E Prince of Tone?
Anyone have an opinion ?
Looking to get one of these. How available are they? I've got a TS pedal a klon pedal but don't yet have a BB style pedal with the flatter beefier EQ
Nice demo thank you :)
does it stack well with OCD??
Great review, as always.
Sounds awesome..... What kind of strat? Stock pickups?
I know that the OD setting is based on a Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal, but do you know what circuit the distortion and boost options are based on?
The same, boost without clipping diodes and distortion with clipping diodes in like a rat
A boosted and distorted Bluesbreaker.
Really nice ! what is the delay you used for that clip ?
Eric Johnson Maple Neck, Stock pickups
What chorus are you using in this video? It's really nice!
what's it like on bass?

+oddfellowfloyd DOD Boneshaker is probably the best drive I've ever heard on extended range guitar stuff. Check it out!
Can the POT be powered by 18v?

chatter Yep, simply by owning a strat, every pedal sounds good. Because twang.
Surely if any pedal sounds good with a strat... you'd just buy a strat?
