I just had my first ride on the vivid coil. It’s so good. Better than the two push shocks I have. I don’t know what it is. HSC nearly open and LSC open. Gotta give it a try.
@OtterSports Thanks for your reply. That's pretty much what I thought. I've fitted the 55mm up from 52.5 from factory and installed a Cascade link also.
Just curious about your explanation @08:41. Did you mean to say softest is counter-clockwise and hardest is clock wise. Sort of like clock wise closed/slow and counter clock is open/fast? Not sure if your editing software swapped them around.
Wizard was the best $300 of gear I ever bought. It’s a pain to setup. You can tell it to give you either playful or planted recommendations. It helped me discover I like my playful bike. And run 37% dynamic sag.
Any recommendations for the setup on the slash gen6 it comes wit he select + my weight is 85 kg. i run it with shock mount in the 20% sag setting shock with 210psi- 30%sag - 1 LSC from the middle position 11 klicks rebound 2 tokens. hydraulic bottom out on -1 was thinking of removing one token.
How many tokens would you recommend for a '23 fuel Exe? I'm 220lbs loaded. Also, the rockshox online app says to do -9clicks for rebound on this weight/travel (140mm rear), I have to try it but it's lots more than you are using....
Technically your suppose to start with no tokens and add as needed. I have rode that bike. I would do 2 tokens zero compression 28% sag. Add 1 click HBO at a time as needed, it’s the only truly independent adjustment. The HSC will kill the ride.Add compression as last resort, it chokes the shock up. With it off it’s a pop machine. Start rebound dead slow. Add 1 click faster at time. Your pressure will be like 320psi, so the is much pressure needs a slower rebound
Trying to put spacers in mine currently, after letting out the air, the entire stanchion has been sucked up into the air can. In the video you have plenty of stanchion showing before you take the clip off. Any ideas?
@@OtterMTBtech Good advice! After commenting I threw it back on the bike and pumped it back up while compressing to equalize every 40 psi. Now I need to hook up a shock pump and let the air out slower. I'm thinking that's what happened is that it stored air in the negative chamber from letting it out too quickly.
Compression will influence sag more compression will = less sag. The sag is the independent measurement of how much spring. After that add support or compression as needed
The Levo vivid comes with max tokens, I would put 3 of 4. Your near or over the Max weight limit of the shock and stick rebound in full slow. Add in HBO if needed. The shock is kinda harsh with maximum tokens. When you realize the rebound is not slow enough sell it and get a coil
I’m on a Kenevo and the shock works, but hits the frame. I would be super careful putting this shock on your bike. The long piggy back may hit the frame on full bottom out. They already had to recall the Float X on your bike Measurements in this video FOX VS ROCKSHOX ruclips.net/video/5mpXoR3qt8I/видео.html
3 tokens. Full HBO 1-2 clicks of both hsc and lsc. Has to have matching compression adjustments, same number of clicks high and low. HBO and rebound can adjust independently. Sag go right under 30%. If it’s a levo specific shock it comes with tokens in it. If not you need to add them in. HBO set off your skill level, but your weight full on is good. If you’re stuck on dead slow rebound add in the compression. The goal of the compression is to add in faster rebound notthkng else. Working on setup video now. Super deluxe coil. It’s not far off your shock. Most important is to match the compression adjustment 1 click low means 1 click high Do anything you can to get rebound faster. The only thing you can do to get rebound faster is adding in compression Comment back if you get it dialed
Just a little scuff on the air can, but when you ride really hard it makes the scratch even bigger. Shock still works fine. I am riding full 29 as well it is super fast. I have 27.5 wheel for major downhills. I usually run a 230x60 shock it makes the head angle a bit steeper with the big wheels. But what ever shock is cheaper or available I usually use.
I experimented the whole day with it and though about it. My conclusion is that it doesn’t matter which stroke it has it will have contact with frame. Is that wright or can you say something different with the 60 mm stroke one ? Thanks for your help.
Hello friend, I just got my 2023 RS vivid ultimate and i intend to run two tokens on my ebike with rear travel 150mm, i weight 76KG (fully loaded), is this good enough? Thank you my friend.
Hello Bryan, thank you for responding. Over the weekend i ran the vivid with the following, 230 psi @sag 30% with 2 tokens, rebound 3clicks from tortoise, LSC and HSC 1 click from negative and HBO 2 clicks from negative. My riding style is not aggressively fast. Plenty of single track with plenty of roots and eroded trail, very gnarly. I still get 10% before i bottom out. When you say slowest its means negative? Compare to my X2 factory running on another bike, its not as progressive as X2, maybe add one more token? And thank you for all your videos.
After weeks fiddling it. Air pressure is the key to success. That shock can change so much from 5psi. Leave the compression wide open. Only adjust the HBO. Any compression on that shock wll just choke it up. Last resort spacers. I ran it with 25% sag and compression full open was pretty epic.
@@OtterMTBtech Hello Bryan, my Vivid Ultimate has broken in, man its the nicest shock I have ever use! My last shock was Float Factory X2, i prefer the Vivid. Just one question, after 6 months of weekly riding, i lose air around 30psi, is that normal?
So I followed what I saw you do and “removed the rebound knob” by turning it counterclockwise… which is what I saw you do. My experience with this shock was really bad. It states that 350psi is max, but it can’t even hold 300… I didn’t experience any of the “improvements” claimed. The adjustment range is absolutely tiny, the hbo is like the pad adjustment screw on Shimano brakes - useless!
How much do you weigh what bike and how many tokens in shock. The closer you get to 300 psi the shock starts to not work. So you need to do anything possible to get it under 300
@@OtterMTBtech and all of that makes a total piece of shit shock! If you can’t use it, even before you get to the threshold then it’s not acceptable! The MTB industry takes the piss like no other. Is there a noticable hissing noise midway through the travel that doesn't go away..mine has it.
