  • Here you have the CITY fuel consumption (fuel economy real-life test) of Renault Clio E-Tech Hybrid 2020/2021/2022 (petrol engine + electric) in a city (urban area, also in heavy traffic). This car has 1.6 l inline-4 petrol + electric hybrid system with 104 kW (140 HP), FWD, automatic gearbox. Result: 3.3 l/100 km (71.3 mpg US / 85.6 mpg UK).
    Fuel consumption (economy) results for Renault Clio E-Tech Hybrid in other scenarios: • Renault Clio E-Tech Hy...
    eco city: 3.3 l/100 km (71.3 / 85.6 mpg US/UK)
    90 km/h (56 mph): 3.6 l/100 km (65.3 / 78.5 mpg US/UK)
    120 km/h (75 mph): 5.3 l/100 km (44.4 / 53.3 mpg US/UK)
    140 km/h (87 mph): 6.5 l/100 km (36.2 / 43.5 mpg US/UK)
    v. fast driving: ~8.5 l/100 km (~28 / ~33 mpg US/UK)
    Tyres: Bridgestone Turanza T005 195/55 R16 87H with "B" index rolling resistance.
    As always, I checked real fuel consumption on a petrol station. I noticed 1% difference: computer shows lower by ~1% fuel consumption comparing to what I refueled.

    That would be a really nice competition for Yaris Hybrid... if it wasn't for the price. It starts in PL at 91900 PLN, while Yaris Hybrid is 80700 PLN. You could get Yaris Hybrid in Executive setup for 90600 (and this is nearly the top level of equipment). It's a pity that they pushed the price so high for this version of Clio...

      But yaris is plastic made, there is so noise inside, you can not compare this cars. The good reference can be Lbx in base version and Captur, as price is almost same... Lbx +comf and safe option is 150k Pln and Captur with all options is 144PLN....so in case of features, stuff inside and comfy, Captur is just better - the only issue is - is it Renault mech transmission so bullet proof like Lexus/Toyota. If yes *for 5k pln you can extend warranty to 5y and it will also cover all service cost for 5y - for Lex you have to pay every service like 1.8k or 2.3 so in 5y it is like+10k to price....if this mech transmission on Renault is longlife - than better option is clear - but you need also be able to live with Renault badge instead of Lexus - this can be big issue ;-)

    you might use B mode in some stops instead of using brakes in order to save more breaks,
    when the car drops EV, lower consumption happens above 60km/h, so it might be a better speed to recharge some battery instead of below 60 that might be the automatic transmission choosing to use a lower gear and then changing to a higher one

    i have just purchased a new clio e-tech engineered here in the U.K two weeks ago and its now done 386 miles and i have to say its the most useless self charging hybrid car you could buy, before this i had a new Toyota Yaris and wow that car was amazing on fuel, i travel 30 mile round trip per day to work on rural A roads and averaging 50 mph and the Yaris gave me 75 mpg in winter with heater and A/C on and 85-90 mpg in the summer and did half the journey each way on battery power, but this Clio so far never goes on Battery power over 30 mph so all im getting is 52 mpg to work and back, so anyone thinking of buying an E-tech Clio don't bother for the same money buy a Toyota Yaris because its light years ahead of an E-Tech Clio

    • @1001cars
      @1001cars  10 месяцев назад +2

      Yes, Clio hybrid is less efficient compared to Yaris (BTW. good results you achieved with this car!), but the biggest problem with Renault hybrid is the level of difficult of learning how to drive efficiently this car. But, since you know how, it is really good (but not as good as Yaris of course), which you could see on my video. I am writing it because I had to make around 2/3 runs before I knew how to drive it, it is especially difficult for Toyota hybrid driver. These systems work in a completely different way.

      @OP I agree during winter temps the mpg drops to about 42 the best I've had is 54 in the summer, I feel cheated by Renault's blurb on their website I don't know what it says now but they did claim it would be in EV mode 80% of the time may be in a lab but not real world driving, I even took the car back to the dealer claiming something must be wrong with it, in winter every time I put the fan on it would kick out of EV mode and would not go back in to EV mode until the engine was really hot, so short trips around town would only use the ICE so blowing out the claim that it drives 80% in EV mode. I know all makers over egg their products but I wish I chose the Toyota Yaris instead.

    I own a 2017 Renault clio and have driven the e-tech for testing. There are a few details to clarify here. The claim is that the car consumes 3.3l for a 100km drive. Where is that information from? I assume from the car. Drive the tank empty and refill the tank, then you'll be able to make correct calculations. 2. claim: it ran to 85% on electric only for 30km? My clio uses 7-8 liters of gas in the city (only 4.5 liter on long journeys). If 85% were correct, your car would be using a bit more than a liter per 100km. That's not the case.
    It is common knowledge, that a full-hybrid will save up to 20% gas. Assuming this car uses only 4.5l per 100km, would already be an amazing number.

    • @1001cars
      @1001cars  Год назад +5

      1. This is not a claim. It is THE TEST RESULT! Rear the description: "As always, I checked real fuel consumption on a petrol station. I noticed 1% difference: computer shows lower by ~1% fuel consumption comparing to what I refueled."
      2. Again: this is not a claim, this is the test result. You do not understand what I wrote in the end of the movie and what I checked. Please watch again the movie.
      3. No, it is not a rule about this "20% saving of gas". Sth. like this does not exist!
