I don't know when you last read a Western European newspaper, but comparing the Western European press with the Russian state media is absurd.
In this respect, the comparison when it comes to censorship is ridiculous. Let's take Germany:
Even tabloids like the Bild newspaper are full of criticism of the government. Not a day goes by without the Chancellor or members of the government being criticized or mocked.
In Russia...unthinkable. Russia has shut down ALL independent, critical newspapers and broadcasters "it can get its hands on".
IF a newspaper is banned in Western Europe, it is not because it is critical of the government, but because it violates the law (e.g. by calling for violence, racist or anti-Semitic content).
And the hurdles for bans are high (as can be seen, for example, in Germany at the moment with the “Compact” ban, which a court has temporarily stopped in order to examine the facts.).
Or to put it another way: In Western European media, editors critical of the government are in the executive chairs, in Russia they are in jail (or are shot, as in the case of Politkovskaya).
Not absurd at all. One difference between you and me is, that I know both the West and Russia from the inside. I speak and read Russian language. The Western narrative on why this war started to begin with is absurd and a lie. From here on I could go down the line of Western absurdities and propaganda.
Anyway, here in Russia we have plenty of criticism of government policies and Putin. Both in the media and some of the larger Russian Telegram channels with +1 million viewers criticize Ministry of Defense harshly, when they feel they have reason to do so. You are just buying into just another lie about Russian society. That's all I can say.
Germany have become an even larger joke than pre-2014. Can't even stand up for itself on the Nord-Stream 2 issue.

As for the reasons for the war:
Russia has been raking in TRILLIONS in oil and gas revenue for 25 years.
But while many people in Russia still have to go outside to shit, many the streets are dilapidated and unpaved (not only in siberia) and many houses are run down, the people with tiny pensions have to watch as inflation gallops (currently 10% with a base interest rate of 18%), Putin Entourage's pockets are full.
Such a system cannot tolerate a democratic, prosperous state in the neighborhood. People might start asking questions.
Russia claims “security interests”. In reality, it is not up to Russia to decide which alliances neighboring countries will enter into. Russia doesn't have that right. Russia puts “its” security interests above those of others.

I had the same issue with Boosty. Tried a year ago, like 12-14 months ago. Investigated and Mastercard was flagging it as 'high risk'. This is an artificial categorization they shoe-horn organizations that they do not want to pay. Interested in what you find out.
It also happened with LEE PRECISION, a machinist and engineering firm, 60+ yr history, same place, no problems. Flagged as 'high risk', because they sell reloading equipment for mass acceleration devices.
The older I get, and the further I advance in my career, the more I realize that many people in leadership positions are some of the most petty, shortsighted and vindictive people you will ever meet. One can never overestimate their propensity to make foolish decisions purely to satisfy their egos, punish those who dissent or disagree, or even just to make examples of random people so as to demoralize the rest.

United States here. I was looking for information about a clay oven and your video came up. So I started to watch and then I went to subscribe to your channel. To my surprise, I was already subscribed, but I forgot about you because I've never seen another video of yours come up in my notifications even though I am subscribed to "all". That is REALLY frustrating!! Also, I have tried for YEARS to find people from other countries on RUclips, Pinterest, Etc., but without fail; I can't find anyone and it makes me wonder if the US is the only information out there. But after all these years, I think that people are getting blocked from my sight!! And that makes me angry!! There is SO MUCH to learn from people outside of the US. I’ll tell you my experience as of late. I watch by streaming from my RUclips app on my iPad, to my Apple TV, and very very often, when I click on a right wingish channel, it won’t stream. So if I want to watch it, I have to do it on my iPad. No way, no how, is this a coincidence, because it happens so often on certain channels, but never on others.
