@@vadimalmil I was born in Scotland but grew up in Sweden and I have an open mind and always look at both sides of a coin before I decide what or who to believe in. I am NOT anti-Russian but I have a Swedish friend with a military background who suddenly blocked me on FB when I told him what I had found out in my own "investigations". I recommended him to watch the US film maker Oliver Stone's documentary about what happened in Ukraine in 2014. He just couldn't take that. He replied that the documentary was Russian State propaganda. Well, as we all know O. Stone is an independent film maker and is famous for his movie THE PLATOON which was a huge success in the West. Anyway not all Scandinavians are anti- Russian and I am one of them. I believe that Russia just wants to go its own way and not be "dictated" by ANYONE. Peace to all Russians and innocent Ukrainians who have been caught up in this mad situation. My thoughts are with all of you!

If I was younger, I would move to Russia. I immigrated to Canada in 1973 when I was 20 and a great job. Sadly, country changed into a direction that is unsustanable and after 37 years living there, I chose to return to my birth country of Switzerland. Also here have things changed and that not for the better. I am not agreeing with the push to a one world government and so many different woke ideas.

I ended up not moving, mostly because of obligations to family here in the US. I am now 71 years old, a widow, have cancer, and have no family left. I am all alone, in a place that I hate living in, (an isolated island in eastern, Maine), and I can no longer afford to keep my home. It's too late for me to move to Russia. I am an old man who has lived all his life in Russia :) what can I say to people from the West who want to move to Russia :)?The good part of the move :).First. At this time, the dollar-ruble exchange rate is very much overvalued.Or to put it another way, in Russia now for $ 1,000 you will receive a service that somewhere in the USA will cost 10,000 thousand dollars :).Second.Russia is a very, very safe country, and the crime rate in Russia is very low. Some young girl at three o'clock in the morning with a huge amount of money in her bag can walk all over my city completely calmly, without fear that someone will rob her and even more so rape her.The third. All Russian cities are very clean, there are no so-called "dangerous areas" in them.On the street, you will NEVER meet a person on drugs, moreover, you will not even meet a drunk person. Fourth.Russia is a very conservative country.Family and religious values in Russia are sacred :).In Russia, they dislike "gay people" quite a lot. This does not mean that someone, they are severely humiliated or abused, it's just that people with normal orientation try not to deal with them personally. And for this reason, the meager number of "blue people" that we have live exclusively in their own narrow closed circle. Without trying to expose your sexual deviations in public. In sum, Russia is a very quiet and peaceful country in which it is very difficult to get into any kind of "nightmare situation".Disadvantages of living in Russia :)). First. Of course the climate :). In Russia, winter is winter, and in almost all of its territory it can be -20 degrees in winter :).Despite the fact that it is physiologically impossible to freeze in Russia :), under no circumstances.Second.A TRIVIAL JOB.I think that it will be very difficult for a foreigner who is poorly or does not speak Russian at all to find a job:(.The fact is that Russia is an ABSOLUTELY Russian-speaking country, in Russia they treat other languages a little bit disdainfully. Your knowledge of English does not add to your authority, but knowledge of the Russian language raises your authority very, very high. Therefore, the most important thing for you is to learn Russian during those three years of your temporary stay in this country. If you learn to speak Russian well, then I think there will be no big problems with work. The third.Russian people are very aggressive :).There is a certain moral and spiritual code inside them, which you better not break in a public place :), otherwise you may be beaten :). For example, in Russia, ANY woman has a very high social status. And for this reason, if you, being a man, do not give up your place in public transport to a woman, then you will DEFINITELY be reprimanded, demanding that you give way to a woman. If you refuse to do so....then something bad can be done to you :).It is also highly discouraged to behave in a defiant way on the street, to shout loudly, to yell on the phone while talking to someone, and even more so publicly swearing.By the way, for swearing in a public place, you can just be taken to the police......In short, you need to behave quietly and culturally, but at the same time you may not smile at anyone :)......Summing up the cons...I can say that your main problem in Russia will ONLY be ignorance of the Russian language, as soon as you learn it, almost all problems will disappear by themselves.

@@jsychu Unfortunately, I don't know the laws very well. For example, I do not know how difficult it is to make sure that your WELL-deserved pension is transferred to Russia, according to all norms of human life, such transfers should be.After all, you have already EARNED this pension by working in the country where you lived, and therefore there is no difference at all in which country you decide to live in retirement. Why am I saying this? Because, let's say, conditionally your pension amount is $ 1,000 (92,000 rubles) You would be allowed to live in Russia, in excess of dignity. This money would be enough for you to satisfy ALL your needs in Russia. This money would be enough for you to live completely peacefully in Russia without denying yourself anything. With such a pension, you actually wouldn't need to work, but just walk the streets of the city, enjoy life and try to learn Russian in three months by talking to local residents.p.s. I emphasize once again, the only question here is how difficult it is to transfer your pension to Russia :).I'll tell you a secret, I'm a pensioner too and my pension is ONLY $ 300 :) (25,000 rubles) and I HAVE ENOUGH OF THEM :)))!!!Considering that I have already bought and earned my apartment and other "big things".Or in another way, my current material demands are quite low :).I spend money only on food, and for paying utility bills, which I have $ 30:) (2,700 rubles)....The good thing about old age is that at this age you don't dream of "a three-deck yacht" :), but you only want peace, quiet and quiet :)))

Russian language is not so complicated as it seems to be. And sure there is no need to idealize something. If your soul wants something, it is neсessary to do it. And if you love something, you can overcome all difficulties. So people come to Russia and can't explain why do they love it. It is magic place, God's land inspite of everything. Hello Ania! I hope you get to see this comment to save yourself some trouble when you're already in Russia. Even though there are no clear requirements or lists of needed documents, it's advised that you prepare all of your Polish documents in advance, such as your police clearance documents (that you are not wanted etc. in your country for crimes that are considered crimes in Russia), your diploma, your birth certificate etc. Please, note that all of your documents would have to be apostilled in order for them to get accepted in Russia. As for the notary translations, these can be done on arrival. I just wanted to bring this to your attention because you might need these documents at some point in time and it's always better to have them ready. Best of luck and God bless, waiting for you here ✨️

Good luck to you with your relocation, I think you're making the right decision, new life with new explorations. The West is on the decline now anyway and 'Brics countries will soon rise up. I live in the UK and you can see its demise, the summer riots showed many peoples discontentment with things.

I think why some people notice or pay attention to the negative side of people is especially if there is a big concentration of People in a place. More people often means more of anything that we pay attention to. From my point of view its good if a lot of people manage to live concetrated like in the big cities. There is a huge proportion of good people and or good charactares also in the people who may appear as negative at a glance/encounter.

Actually there’s not much of a difference regarding the process of moving to another country 🤷‍♀️ Immigration processes worldwide are pretty much aligned just the demand for learning the language/history differ as some countries don’t ask for it when applying for residency but only for naturalization (nationality).
Nevertheless in my opinion it makes definitely sense especially in case of different alphabets i.e. writings 🤷‍♀️ you don’t want to create a group of illiterates in your country no matter their original educational level 😉 It’s easy and fun as well to learn a new language with a different alphabet used especially when living in that country! Take classes like children going to school 😊
Imagin all those foreigners worldwide learning arabic, thai, mandarin, korean, japanese, ethiopian, greek, etc - all used to different alphabets when learning English. Don’t tell me it’s hard for a person using the latin alphabet in their first language learning a different one! Just use your brain abilities 😝 Good luck anyways 🍀

Once a great number of people from west moves to Russia - the statistical outcome of such relocation would fall into the famous “bell curve”, i.e. Normal Distribution pattern. Out of all those people who would choose to move to Russia - 10% would absolutely love it (and stay forever), 10% would absolutely hate it (and move away), and 80% would either choose to stay or move somewhere else depending on the weather on Saturday morning.

I think it's important to get a trusted native chat pal first to pick up the basic language and some convenient culture DO-s and DON'T-s. When just about everything feels a new and looks alien it is better to overcome your first hurdles with your friend babysitting. Even the internet search hinting may be of great help. Every bit of knowledge shared at exact right context saves a ton of time searching, digging for information is much more productive when you know the one who knows where to look exactly. Alas, as for any friendship it is not only about benefits, but about massive time and emotional investment also. But, IMHO it is worth the time spent.

Congratulations on your choice. I also live in a Slavic country. I know Russian, but I would not leave my homeland and emigrate to Russia, mainly because of the climate. In Russia, by my standards, it is very cold. If you are used to winter temperatures from 0 to 10 degrees, it will be difficult in Russia with temperatures of -20. In addition, the pay is low. Life is also cheaper, but I can't seem to get over not being able to go back to my home country at least for a little while because it would be hard for me to raise money for transportation.
Also, I have studied in various online courses with Russians and I think they hardly accept foreigners and you would have a hard time finding a good job. If an employer has to choose between a highly qualified Russian and a highly qualified foreigner, be almost 100 percent sure that the choice will be in favor of the Russian.
So unfortunately I don't see many advantages for foreigners especially

Yes, the living expenses are less than in the USA, but it's not any different in other aspects of life. Great when you go to museums, great climate and cultural vibe. But for permanent living you will see- very low public-school education, tons of immigrants, pick pocketers, graffiti all over, occupados, no jobs. So do not mistake traveling to Spain and living here as an expat.

You can't imagine the size of our country. There are many different peoples living in our country, and it's not a problem if someone else comes. But only if you share common values with us and are ready to assimilate with society and respect our traditions. In the history of Russia, there are many foreigners who loved our country, considered it home and made a very big contribution to the Russian Empire, so this is not the first time for us. For example, Catherine the Great was originally from Prussia.

I just want to support the quote from that last viewer by saying this - don't confuse tourism with immigration. With some exceptions, Russia has pretty much the same problems like the West has. Like uncontrolled illegal immigration in tens of millions of people with similar consequences for the society. On the other hand Russia has relatively good free medical system. So, if you have some health issues you can come here and abuse it, and Russian state will pay for you, completely free of charge. But without good knowledge of Russian language you will have problem to find your place here.

That's right, Russia is not perfect, there are enough idiots in any country. Some people meet them often, some rarely, everything is very individual. But in general, Russia preaches the right values and has prospects for good development. There is already a video on the Internet listing the first difficulties that await a foreigner who decides to move to Russia (Sam gives the most detailed overview). Everyone says that you should not move to Russia just by watching the video. You should come to reconnaissance for a couple of months and understand what will happen with employment and renting a house. It's not that simple. Often, homeowners rent out their personal housing and do not want to pay taxes for doing this business, and according to Russian law, the owner of the property must register you as a foreigner in his living space for temporary residence. The owner refuses to do this in order to avoid paying taxes. Of course, he will rent you a house or apartment, but he will not register you with the authorities there. This is a problem. There are no problems with hotels - they register you in their apartments themselves, but this is not profitable for financial reasons - renting a place is much cheaper. The ideal option is to immediately buy your own place.

Ania, Russian will not be easy even if you are a Polish speaker. Russian is very irregular. There are irregular nouns, a lot of them. The Russian grammar was written after the German grammar, without knowing what is really going on in the language. You will see the use of tenses... OMG. The good news is that the endings are almost never pronounced. But if Russians suddenly pronounce them clearly, this means you need to know the grammar to understand what is being said. And do not believe them when they tell you that O is pronounced as A: it depends on the location/dialect. For unstressed vovels it is important whether what you pronounce is from the "hard" or from the "soft" set, and that's all! Also, as to the stressed vowels, the Russians mistake loudness for duration. They think if it's long, it is stressed.
Copy&paste this comment somewhere, it will be useful.
