Happy Birthday, great video so much wealth of knowledge shared in this video. I believe my dad used to raise chickens when I was a kid. Some of those things you showed look similar.

Great video with tons of useful information. hatching your own chicks is so much fun. we agree that a broody hen is much better but you look like an expert with your setup.

How far north of forest lake is your homestead? Do you have to drive a long way to a grocery store/essentials? All day affair? So fun seeing your projects!!

Forest lake is about 2 hours away, so yes I was gone most of the day since I typically save up a string of errands and knock them all out at the same time. I’m always exhausted afterward!

Now that you have silkies, you won’t need the incubator

That’s my goal!!! I miss having a broody mama hen do it all for me

I have a warming plate but it didn't come with the red roof so I built one out of cardboard.

Beautiful chicks, I have the silkies also
I love the brooders your husband made❤️
I just purchased the Chick Cozy incubator recently and have eggs due to hatch end of this week. Lock down is on Thursday. Do you have any tips on the humidity for this one?

I’ve heard so many great things about silkies! I’m glad you’re loving them too. Ooo yay!!! That’s a great incubator. Shoot for 65% humidity at lockdown. If it’s not getting high enough, you can just place a sponge next to the eggs. Cut it up into smaller pieces if you have to. Good luck!! 🐣
