This is a brilliantly edited video. It's amazing to me how well you balanced the sound despite filming in so many different locations. Also, the script flowed even though you rotated between locations. Seriously, the editing here is absolute goals for me.
Dude, congratulations! Me and I'm sure everyone else here loves this transition for you. Oh and if you ever decide to move on from RUclips, all of these skills are relevant and transferrable to any career you desire. Not only do you have a top tier education with an incredibly in-demand skill set, you've just added a ton more by starting and maintaining your own business, as well as editing, sound, video, and a ton more. Definitely not worried aboutcha - you're killing it.
You can tell you are a former consultant when you referred to jobs after being a full time youtuber as “exit opportunities” 😂 love it and congratulations!
have been watching you for a few months and you inspire me a bunch! i'm starting business school at uni in a few months and am also starting content creation on tik tok. sometimes i doubt the time i'd have but then i remember how you literally work 70 hours a week and make fully edited RUclips videos !!
Honestly that feels ideal. You still stay on the corporate ladder and get professional growth but you get a full "summer vacation" in between the jobs. I do wish taking off a few months between jobs (if financially feasible of course) was more normalized, definitely seems key to not burning out in the long term.
Idk if you know this about yourself, but you really like to teach others and you’re great at it! You have so much knowledge to share! New subscriber here and I love it so far!
Taylor, I've been following your channel for a while now and this may be the most valuable video yet. Letting the world know that tending to one's passions and embracing uncertainty is not only ok but ideal, is a powerful message indeed. Keep up the inspirational work and best of luck on future endeavors.
I relate to you so much! Quit my full time job to get a few part time jobs that made more sense for me while pursuing RUclips. Theres an in between too that’s not spoken about enough :) LOVE your videos, I’m in NYC too!
You are a great speaker, you are charismatic, you are fun, you are playful, you are delightful to be around. So when you say words to other people, they have profound effects. Every single word you say is creating your reality and in fact your words are creating you. Now we are all going for a drink and celebrate life!
As a boomer, watching this video both terrified me and inspired me. While there are so many downsides to going the unstructured route, to me it sounds like the solution to so much of what is happening to jobs in the developed world these days. Steady, decent paying 9-5 jobs are slowly going away due to globalization, AI, technology, etc....White collar jobs and evaporating right and left. If someone has the guts and wits to go it on their own and carve out their own niche, they will be a survivor to whatever happens in our economy. If you are able and inspired to go your own way and craft your own job, I think you should seriously consider taking the leap.
It’s definitely not the solution for the vast majority of people. A steady 9-5 with vacation time, 401k and benefits is what most of us should strive for. The women in the video probably has a decent degree, Resume, job experience, no kids of course, and already making money on RUclips. The only thing these videos do is give the unexceptional false hope.
"Steady, decent paying 9-5 jobs are slowly going away due to globalization, AI, technology, etc....White collar jobs and evaporating right and left." Except they're not. The vast majority of people still work 9-5 jobs and will continue to do so. If all you watch are RUclipsrs making a living producing content while living full-time in a van and traveling around the country, you start to think that everyone is doing it. You'd be wrong.
This is your BEST video yet! Spoiler alert: reassessing your career and what you want to do for the rest of your life will likely happen several times. I'm 62 years old with a great gig, but still reassessing. You can thank me later.
I wish you had said more about WHY you left your consulting job 🙂 You talk a lot about disadvantages of the life of a RUclipsr, so by the end of your video, I was actually surprised you want to drop consulting, but continue RUclips 😉 Enjoy your time between jobs 👍
It's a relief to hear someone talk about the realities of an office job vs being an entrepreneur. It's a big risk to work for yourself. It takes someone with a certain stuff to handle it all because of the reasons you gave.
Was a management consultant for 7 years. Loved it. Loved the people I was worked with. Did the executive corporate thing for several years. Didn't love that so much. Started my own internet marketing company in 2000. So I've been doing the solo internet thingy for 22 years now. I've got a silver youtube plaque for a side project. Here's some thoughts. Working on the internet can be very lonely. When you have a family, the freedom is a blessing. Right now you do lifestyle videos. But if you slowly move your channel to a niche, like personal development, then you can create information products and coaching programs and make a TON LOAD of money with youtube. Just look at what Clark Kegley has done. He started doing lifestyle videos and eventually moved to personal development. Perhaps, get a life coaching certification and start a relationship coaching biz. You have a great following. It's a GOLD MINE if you turn it into a real business ventures with products and programs to sell. Anyways, just a thought. You have the personality and business acumen to do it. You're great on camera!
I totally 100% agree with you that Miss Taylor is one of the most talented you tubers to come on the scene. I love and respect your intelligence, Taylor and the manner in which you convey information. I am sure you have given hundreds of report-outs to clients in your few years consulting. If I had to guess, I'd say you worked at McKinsey. You are super intelligent and I look forward to continuing to watch your channel ... I think your next move will be into some type of marketing, although I could see a finance channel being interested in you, like Bloomberg, CNBC, Fox Business. Best wishes always, XoXo.
I'd never become a RUclipsr but think your comment is enlightening. I think YT will become much more competitive and agree with Taylor that after a few years, views shift to a new channel. I don't watch any lifestyle videos and don't like any of those channels, especially when they do hidden ads and product placement.
Taylor, you're right about the importance of workspaces providing common goals and sense of community. Many of us are feeling that lack post-pandemic. I think as a society we've got to figure out a way to generate those spaces without tying them to corporate entities. There must be some level of space between standard 9-5 structured corporate office and fully public NYC Sunday coffee shop vibe. Congrats on the job move! I've done it 3x myself in three years and don't regret a thing.
It’s awesome to see a content creator who is so realistic about the prospect of being a full time RUclipsr. I feel like many full time RUclipsrs at some point start to live in their own “content-creator-world” which takes a toll on their content I feel. So I’m really glad that you keep on being a (awesome) RUclipsr and have a real world job

This whole concept of taking back control of your time can really be a double-edged sword imo. Digital nomads, or so they're called, seem to have so much control of their time and schedule but yet find themselves quite isolated. The whole concept of reaching objectives with other individuals has literally been ingrained in our DNA. It's great having RUclips on the side - I mean so many perks. I really appreciate people that have content that does not have 'like' and 'you know' in every other sentence. That diction drives me bat s crazy!
Love the vibe Taylor. The social aspect is truly a big one. Straight out of the pandemic I started content writing wfh last year. But in May-June, I worked as Teaching Assistant for an accelerated learning bootcamp with other co-workers. And the happiness levels were through the roof even though I was literally working 3-4x harder. I'm back 2 weeks and the social isolation is back (haven't seen the sun in 11 days). @@TaylorBell Yes. You do seem to understand it well, as you explained in your video. I just seem to have an issue for some reason, with people going to college and getting a good job and then quitting to do RUclips. What a waste of a college education.
@@aprilsmith6587 I get that. It's also frustrating when they tell their audience to "follow your dreams" like they did-as if the average viewer has the luxury to fall back on an impressive resume and high job prospects if their social media work doesn't work out.
You definitely have an introductory charm, but as you’re smart, you know to be in business you need to bring a multitude of materialistic values. As you now are full-time, try to create some novelty, and to get started please look at Ali Abdali, how he build his journey, and created a unique distinct space. All the best, and wishing you all the best to flourish, and keep smiling…
Taylor, you are one of the most gorgeous women on this planet. You have such an amazing smile and your attitude and outlook on life is killer. Love your channel.
It’s nice to hear you realize RUclips is not really a “career”. I admit many can earn good money, even in the long run. But for someone with your education and background it would probably be a waste.
I like how you think about everything so analytically it's a fantastic skill, I've just started my internship in supply chain and its been very interesting, lots of new stuff to learn hopefully I get the hang of it 😂😂
Wow! Don’t know why this video showed up in my feed. I’m a car person but I did watch this to the end and then hit the ‘subscribe’ button. The video felt kinda refreshing and sincere. I looove that 👌👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
My guess; VC/startup, brand or digital, piecing together your Wharton, BCG (or forget if you were Bain), Fashion and YT work. Excited to hear more, and my daughter, who will be starting undergrad this fall (similar, will leave out specific school but it is one of Rice, Stanford and Vanderbilt) also likes your channel and will be interested to follow your career arc.
Being a RUclipsr is really lonely if you do it full-time. I think your choice is very reasonable and combines the best out of both worlds! Good luck :)
just fantastic contents. It is so rewarding to see a hard-working and driven young person thriving in this environment. I can't imagine how proud your family must be. Continue succcess...onward and upward.
Ngl your videos aree so positive and always have a good vibe with some motivation in it as well. You handle your life pretty amazingly. Keep doing it you are great!!!
Congrats on doing what’s right for you! To be honest I subscribed because you were a management consultant but I stayed because your content exceeded that category. You were the difference between just a work RUclips and a work/ life balance RUclips.
I’m going to guess something in the airline industry. Good for you taking some time off. I’ve taken 1-2 year breaks a few times now over the past decade. It’s never counted against me for future opportunities and each break was so nice. Being smart with money gives you more freedom to do stuff like that. Looking forward to following your journey!
Great job taking the next job. Its so important to have health insurance and a salary to fall back on if for some reason RUclips changes the ad structure on you. When i switched jobs, i took 3 months off in between and it was so amazing. Like a summer vacation as a kid, just better. Keep up with two jobs for as long as you can, it will only benefit you in the long run. You can think of all the RUclips revenue as fun money (which you can save/invest all of if you want)
BIG SIS!!! CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW CHANGE!! You have no idea how fangirl I am towards you lol. You’re so smart and your sense of humor always makes my day! I love your energy and your personality so much! You’re literally one of those I found inspiration from and look up too!!🥰🥰
Thanks for telling us the truth about this occupation. I quit my job as a medical practitioner last 3 years after 10 years in the field. It was not a easy decision. But in life we all know one thing and that it is too short to dread going to work everyday. Friends I’m not asking you to resign your job, no amount of money can buy happiness you just got to be wise.😊 I found your channel, you’re awesome.
If you outsource the editing, contents planning, or makeups.. you make the team tay bell! So if you grow your channel bigger RUclips job is no longer a lonely job! 😃
This is really inspiring! I’m about a year into consulting post undergrad and really don’t enjoy it. Have thought about content creating but really value my privacy, so would probably stick around for another year and take transition after that for a more laid back job ideally in tech
If you dont mind me asking what firm are you at? I'm interesting into going into management consulting and would love to talk to someone that's in it right now.
As a Big 4 partner, this is a really big switch. BCG is also an exceptional firm. Courageous - best of luck to you.. p.s. Your fall back plan, especially coming from Wharton undergrad, is going to B-School, perhaps at a Harvard or GSB.
I really liked how you came to the conclusion to quit your "Steady Job" for RUclips. It feels very thought thru and mature, not just, like some people, "I just want to be a RUclips Star", and don't think about the consequenses.
As someone in their 4th year as a management consultant straight out of uni, I am jealous of your decision making. I love my job and the stability it brings...But every now and then I feel like taking the leap and going for something I'm more passionate about. It is a very hard decision, indeed. All the best in your next job (if you're staying in NYC, maybe the next gig is in financial services but more on the strategy/marketing side of things?) and have fun with FT youtube in the meantime. I can't wait for the videos!! 🙂
Well thank you :) it absolutely is a tough decision. If only passion and financial security weren’t so often at odds. And thank you so much, I appreciate it!!
Never too late! I did 20 years in ACN before deciding on a career break. I think you’ll know when it’s time. Trying to decide now whether to go back or do something totally different!
I am more motivated to get back to RUclips now that I have a full-time job😊. I love the human interaction with my work team but I love the fun personal time I get while creating content.
Love that each of your videos has some general knowledge to learn (in addition to seeing your daily life). Love all the "let me explains"! Please keep doing this and all the best, Taylor!
Yes, I am a Boomer and even worse I am from Europe. When you are young, try things out, opportunity waits around the next corner. Right now you are in the middle of the RUclips Boom, try it. Income needs not to be a worry, as long as you do not have to pay a mortage and feed 5 kids. Income will come later, now you can guide the direction where you want to go. Just du it!
Well produced video!!!! You kept my short attention the whole time with changing video, quick and concise audio content, beautiful girl and real world advice on a topic everyone is thinking about. What do I want to be when I grow up? What do I want to do now that easily translate to my next adventure in life? You have won my viewership in anything you produce!
Thanks Taylor for sharing those insights! I think you made a great decision in taking up on the new job offered while continuing RUclips on the side. You are young women I would certainly look for that stable career that will help you grow financially meanwhile you got RUclips to have fun, indulge in your artistic side and make a bit of revenue as well. I will keep supporting the channel whenever I can. Wish you well on the new job! Stay healthy.
I've seen youtubers do this over 8 yrs and grew and grew! It only got better for them. Also as an introvert I love working alone. Also making friends at work is very difficult. It'll work for a while but most friends I made never stuck around and moved on. I would def do this full time if I could afford the health insurance, and my monthly bills. Also just do it part time for a while til it builds up! It will eventually.. just keep at it! I started mine and I keep taking breaks.. I need to find more time, but overall I feel its less stressful than my 9-5 for SURE! AND gives you a better work life balance you are your own boss! WIN!
Any guesses for what’s next? Thanks for watching turtle gang 😊🐢

I was so happy to hear that you got an actual job and didn't quite for RUclips.
RUclips definitely is a job! Just not conventional
All the best, and wishing you all the best to flourish, and keep smiling…
love the way you speak!! and thought process, super true
Taylor, you are one of the most gorgeous women on this planet. You have such an amazing smile and your attitude and outlook on life is killer. Love your channel.
How sweet of you to say!! Thank you so much 😊
The jazzy, piano sound in the background of your editing works. The Tri State is amazing. Enjoy!
It’s nice to hear you realize RUclips is not really a “career”. I admit many can earn good money, even in the long run. But for someone with your education and background it would probably be a waste.
I’ve loved your videos - been subscribed ever since I watched your interview with Graham. The evolution of your videos/channel has been great!
I have absolutely the same thought process when evaluating my corporate job vs RUclips! Thank you for voicing this for me once again 💖
Yesss tons of pros and cons to consider. Of course, thank you so much for watching!!
Wish you success. You have a very wholesome energy.
I like how you think about everything so analytically it's a fantastic skill, I've just started my internship in supply chain and its been very interesting, lots of new stuff to learn hopefully I get the hang of it 😂😂
thank you sooo much, I try to! haha and that's awesome, hopefully you continue to enjoy it 😊 Def an interesting space
Rice or Stanford will be good for this field i have friends passed out from there . Vanderbilt is good but location is not great it sucks
finally.. love a practical view of a long-term youtube career
😊😊😊
Congrats and what a perfect timing - you'll be enjoying NYC summer to the fullest!
Thaaank you Anna! For sure, it's been so nice
Liked the content as always and the dunder mifflin t-shirt too! All the best!!
The consulting world is gonna miss you Taylor. But I’m sure whatever you decide to do next you’ll be very successful at!!
"and you can have a great work life balance....after some time". The jury is sure out on this one!!
Being a RUclipsr is really lonely if you do it full-time.
I think your choice is very reasonable and combines the best out of both worlds!
Good luck :)
wow beauty with a brain... rarely sees such smart and intelligent female youtuber... glad to have found one✨
just fantastic contents. It is so rewarding to see a hard-working and driven young person thriving in this environment. I can't imagine how proud your family must be. Continue succcess...onward and upward.
Thank you so very much :') this means a lot. They are proud! 😊
Ngl your videos aree so positive and always have a good vibe with some motivation in it as well. You handle your life pretty amazingly. Keep doing it you are great!!!
Really appreciate your comment, thank you so much 😊
Nice, you do you girl!!! Def do not tell people where you used to work or is going to be working.........too many creeps in this world sadly.
Thank you so much!! And yep I won't
Just simply love your channel and always looking forward to seeing where life’s takes you and your vibes is amazing ❤️
Congrats on doing what’s right for you! To be honest I subscribed because you were a management consultant but I stayed because your content exceeded that category. You were the difference between just a work RUclips and a work/ life balance RUclips.
Thanks so much Michael!! Glad to hear 😊
Quit my job at a top-tier IB firm for my startup and haven't looked back, best career choice I made. Best of luck, rooting for you!
We support you !!! Passion drives happiness
You can think of all the RUclips revenue as fun money (which you can save/invest all of if you want)
man the dedication, even getting soaked in the rain you carried on making this video :D
BIG SIS!!! CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW CHANGE!! You have no idea how fangirl I am towards you lol. You’re so smart and your sense of humor always makes my day! I love your energy and your personality so much! You’re literally one of those I found inspiration from and look up too!!🥰🥰
You are soooo sweet, thank you so much love!!! ❤️😊 your support means so much to me 🥹
@@TaylorBell WE LOVE YOU, TAYLOR!!!🥰🥰🤗
Congrats for being brave enough to follow your dreams! Best of luck. I miss my NYC. Enjoy!
Thanks for telling us the truth about this occupation. I quit my job as a medical practitioner last 3 years after 10 years in the field. It was not a easy decision. But in life we all know one thing and that it is too short to dread going to work everyday. Friends I’m not asking you to resign your job, no amount of money can buy happiness you just got to be wise.😊
I found your channel, you’re awesome.
I really enjoy my profession but I appreciate the benefits it provides me and my family.
If you outsource the editing, contents planning, or makeups.. you make the team tay bell! So if you grow your channel bigger RUclips job is no longer a lonely job! 😃
Ahaha, love the bloopers. Stoked for more Taylor videos. 😁
Hehe thank you!! More coming soon
You have one of the most beautiful personalities I’ve ever seen in my life. Wow, it’s Intersting hearing you talk
How sweet 🥹 thank you so much
@@TaylorBell am moving to NYC to do consulting and went to College with some kids you went to highschool with.
These videos have really helped
This is really inspiring! I’m about a year into consulting post undergrad and really don’t enjoy it. Have thought about content creating but really value my privacy, so would probably stick around for another year and take transition after that for a more laid back job ideally in tech
If you dont mind me asking what firm are you at? I'm interesting into going into management consulting and would love to talk to someone that's in it right now.
Thank you so much!! And that sounds like a good plan 🤝
@@alexdewey1503 Likewise! been researching for a while now. I know two people personally and they love it.
Love your plans! Enjoy this free time. I knew you wouldn’t be doing YT full time and this is the 2nd video I’ve watched from you. All the best!
That post Alone, „Post Malone“ joke got me 😂😂 nice Video as always 👍🏼
Hahahah I noticed it while I was saying it 😂 and thank you so much!
Taylor you are a smart woman who is driven. Seeing your videos success will always be yours no matter what you do.
As a Big 4 partner, this is a really big switch. BCG is also an exceptional firm. Courageous - best of luck to you..
p.s. Your fall back plan, especially coming from Wharton undergrad, is going to B-School, perhaps at a Harvard or GSB.
Big switch indeed! But a new opportunity starting soon :)
Good luck on your new adventures! Looking forward to full throttle
Best of luck! The time and effort in your videos do not go unnoticed. Keep it up!
Aw thanks so much!! Appreciate it
I really liked how you came to the conclusion to quit your "Steady Job" for RUclips.
Does it pay well?
I am more motivated to get back to RUclips now that I have a full-time job😊. I love the human interaction with my work team but I love the fun personal time I get while creating content.
Wishing you the best. Good luck in your new job and goals!!! 💪
Thank you so much!! 😊
Such great news! The more videos you make, the happier we are.
Congrats on the commitment to growth! For that, i am subscribing, keep pushing!!!
Aw thaaaank you!! 🥳 of course!!
Love that each of your videos has some general knowledge to learn (in addition to seeing your daily life). Love all the "let me explains"! Please keep doing this and all the best, Taylor!
the carisma and power were literally oozing out of my screen, there are things to learn from someone like you
Oh my goodness how nice of you to say 🥹 thank you 😊
I’m sure you’ll be successful whatever you decide to do. Go get’em 🐯 Tiger!
Just got here from your Ice Coffee hour interview congrats!! you went from 400 to 106k subs?
Yayyyyy
Wooo welcome! Over the course of almost 2 years, yes! 😅
@@TaylorBell That's still explosive growth, lots of hard work and a great personality.
Keep it up 🥸
Respect the hustle for continuing to record in the rain at 3:08
HAHA can’t stop won’t stop
Yes, I am a Boomer and even worse I am from Europe. When you are young, try things out, opportunity waits around the next corner. Right now you are in the middle of the RUclips Boom, try it. Income needs not to be a worry, as long as you do not have to pay a mortage and feed 5 kids. Income will come later, now you can guide the direction where you want to go. Just du it!
left my corporate job in Feb to pursue the same thing. great video here - best of luck with it all
Congrats on your next step and hope you have a good time between gigs! Guessing VC or Tech (Product Management/PMM, etc.)
Thank you so much!! Good guesses!
Love the evolution of your editing! :)
Aw thank you so much!
This is NYC, so the next industry is very likely fintech or consumer tech. Role is probably marketing or PM.
good guesses!
WIN!
I’m a new subscriber and recently binge watched all of your videos and now I’m all caught up.
Woohooo! Thanks for watching!
