Yes it is like the evolution of a Californian in NYC. Even your demeanor seems to have turned up a couple of degrees on the frequency level. Still very chill but clearly acclimating well. (Im currently trying to do this with out moving to NYC thats why I see it). Congrats on keeping Amazing view place!! I have never seen anything like it. I grew up in Ca and moved out east when I was young. It was a culture shock of course but I remember thinking snow was beautiful. .. now not so much 😆 Looking forward to seeing your continued acclimation. can i just say i absolutely LOVE how this was filmed? the way you kept switching the spots where you filmed and the clear, structured yet casual narration was so satisfying to watch! it also helps that i love your sense of humor haha
💯 agree with your comment! Was gonna say the exact same thing! Looks like ya worked ya booty off to shoot this Taylor and it was such a great watch! Really enjoy your content and ya vibe 😉
As a real estate agent in Manhattan, I have to say this was the best real estate video I've see from a consumer. Very detailed and informative. I watched from start to finish. I'm impressed.
I work under a landlord in Manhattan and I agree as well, the 1.5% should kick in 6 month's into your new lease just so you know. Starting Oct 1st,2022 it will be 3.25% for 1 and 5% for 2 year leases. There's more information that can benefit you if you plan on staying in NYC but it's a learning process.
Hi Taylor :)Motivated by your videos, I finally got offers from 3 of big4 as new grad ! Thanks always for inspiring and enjoyable contents🐣Love from Japan🗾
So glad you’re able to renew! Your place is beautiful. 😍 My fiancé and I are apartment hunting right now and it’s brutal. We’ve applied for two places now and have had someone chosen over us, we’ve made appointments to see multiple places and then have had the broker cancel before we even get there because it’s been taken, and there’s hardly anything available in our price range in our current neighborhood. 😬
Im so glad you kept your apartment, it’s beautiful! You don’t have to spend so much on Ubers because the subway takes you everywhere for $2.75. If you don’t feel very comfortable taking the train because you are afraid to get lost just ask anyone and they will help you. It’s more convenient, cheaper and better for the environment!
This is one of the better breakdowns on the current rental market I've seen so I'll def be pointing some friends over here who are on the hunt after losing their Covid deals. I am also lucky enough to be in a rent stabilized apartment and boy oh boy does that make a huge difference. I also gotta say that there is something pretty cool about living in a super old building even if that means you have to insulate the pipes!
Two things that made me subscribed your channel number one would obviously be my love for NYC and second one is the charisma of your personality. I wanna listen more from you about NYC.
I literally just watched your video on your beautiful apartment, and thank God you are not moving and was able to renew the lease. That is a lot of work/renovations down the drain if you guys had to move already. Glad the new lease worked out for you, cause the freaking view is just AMAZE BALLS!!!!
Two things that stood out to me when considered together were your love of walkability and your seeming to view New York City as a good place for this season of life but not for raising a family. Those two spheres may be more related than you might think. If you’re interested, the urbanist RUclips channel Not Just Bikes just recently put out a video about the benefits of raising kids in walkable areas. Granted, just this comment alone makes a ton of assumptions that may or may not be warranted, but just food for thought.
I hear ya! It's more so that I want a big yard with dogs and such (ideally somewhere warm) by the time I have a family 😊 NY definitely has it upsides too though
That makes sense; that combination of things is definitely hard to come by in NYC. Even if you were to live somewhere like Forest Hills or something, you would still have to deal with the cold weather for a majority of the year. So I get it.
Ms. Taylor I have no idea how you do it, maybe it's your voice, but my 3 year old sits and watches your videos and it gives me time to actually work. Thank you for your videos, if only for saving my sanity.
When I was moving here, I had the SAME EXACT problem lol. Living near Hudson Yards definitely removes the neighborly feel that you can find in places like West Village but you literally can't beat a NEW building with INCREDIBLE views... that's why I chose to move near Hudson Yards and tbh... traveling down to East Village or around there to go out isn't that bad for me.

Question! Because it seems like we all loved the format of this video (the changing locations without interrupting the flow)... did you write out a general script for this and then read/recite the whole thing in each location and splice together your favorites? Or did you only say certain things in certain locations, all planned out ahead of time? I'm loving watching you get more comfortable on here with your editing style! 🥰
Omg, the editinggggg thoo! 🙌 Yay! Thank goodness for rent stabilization! Its funny you got that email on April 1st because my initial thought would have been, "Is this an April Fools Joke?" haha! So happy you ended up keeping the view! ❤
It's only great for her, but screws over everyone else my making the supply shortage worse. The best rent stabilization is just build enough housing for everyone so prices are not bid up
Hi Taylor! I enjoy watching your videos most especially the New York contents you make. As a teen, thank you for being a motivation, and watching you all the time makes me inspired towards succeeding in my dream which is to travel to New York in the future when I am secured financially. Continue to persuade other people just like me. Also big fan from the Philippines❤️🇵🇭
I wonder how you script the videos filming different parts in different scenarios. It's genius cause it makes the videos so much cooler and dynamical, but it must take some good organization right? haha glad you're staying there for longer!

Hi Taylor :) I am also working from home and I can totally understand you arguments for staying in your apartment. I think my choice would be the same if I had to do it. As you say, especially the big windows and the sunlight are important if you sit on your desk the most of your time :)
I couldn’t care less about the topic of this video, but that lady has that certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ that keeps you captivated when she speaks. Impressive 👏🏼
Awesome! Thanks for sharing the deal you got living in the city with the COVID discount, now rent controlled! I also look out a big window when on my laptop at my desk.
@@TaylorBell We have a house in Tampa, FL, but we are older. We took a cruise from Tampa, we got off in NYC, stayed a hilton garden inn near Penn Station/Moynihan Train Hall. We walked to Central park a couple of days, did top of the rock. Nice view. Also MOMA, got a T-shirt, van gough missing ear. Another day, we went to Hudson Yards, saw the vessel. The wind at Hudson Yards was impressive.
What about where do you do the laundry? Does your unit have washer/dryer, or do you have a central room, or what amenities? Is there a small workout room? What about a rooftop/observation lounge? I'm sure that your views are impressive. Thank you for sharing.
@@TaylorBell yeah your voice was super clear eventhough when you were out of your house shooting there were some background noises but your voice was clear and the background noises didnt even disturb me- most of the time it does-
Hey! Taylor I really really really addicted to your vlogs so so so so much and your videos are truly truly truly helpful to me in life you inspired me so so so so much and I will support you till end🥺😭💖🌸
Yeah, I figured Miss Turtle was headed for a pond over in the Village or Chelsea. Have you ever considered Brooklyn? I do get that It is tough to beat the midtown views. I love how you can see billionaires row and the Hudson river at the same time! Nice job on the video. The audio sounds great and as always I love your montage scenes!
Aw thank you so much!! A friend of mine gave me a really nice tour of Williamsburg last week and I loved it. I think I’ll be in Manhattan for as long as I live in NY though 😊 and thank you again!!
Hey Taylor, I think you should really consider buying your own home when your lease ends You might be able to continue renting out the other units to produce consistent cash-flow if you purchase a multi-family, and you'll be able to tap enjoy the appreciation of the property over time!
Hi! I wanted to say that I LOVE the beginning shot of you in front of your window. How do you get that shot without yourself being underexposed? Let me know if you have any tips!
Loved your thought process. I'm in Greenwich Village in a place with a tiny balcony and a lot of light but there's definitely a price to pay for living downtown.
Aw thanks Anna! Ooh very lovely area, the balcony and a lot of light really makes a difference I'm sure. I can see myself there near you in a couple years 😊
@Anna Sabino Aw thank youuu! I bike down the WSH almost every day and I looove it. It's just weaving in the city streets themselves to get to the LES that I don't like doing at night 😩
Good deal at the time of this video. Crazy how prices have gone up everywhere. I have a vacation condo in Orange Beach, AL. In 2014 I bought a 900 sq ft condo 2/2 br/ bath on a bay with a great view of the water. With 2 car parking underneath. Now they are selling 3 times what I paid. Of course property taxes and insurance have gone out the roof.
Thanks so much!! It's rent stabilized for as long as I have the lease 😊 The % increase will change year to year, but it will always be a reasonable increase (1-4%) and nothing like 20-40% thank god
Thanks for the vids and info Taylor! Starting my MBA next month and hoping it leads to consulting in NYC as well. Would you ever consider doing a Q&A episode, live or otherwise? Take care!
Aw thank you, and congrats!! 🎉 That's awesome. Yes for sure, I'll be filming one this week answering the questions people submitted on my Insta 😊 Thanks for watching!
As someone who works fully remote from Ohio, I pay $1,400 in Columbus for a 2 bd, 2 bath, 1100sqft and use one bedroom for an office. NYC prices are insane haha.
Great content as always! It’s nice living with roommate split the cost of monthly and have amazing views. If I could live in NY I would aim for upper east side or west village. But that is a dream for sure!
I'm looking into current / historical rent in SF right now and it's the same level of ridiculous pricing. Apparently there are more deals between October and February (renting offseason?) so I'm hoping that happens before I make my move. Out of curiosity, what month did you re-sign / extend during?
You made the smart decision Taylor and what a steal. That view though - you can't not not stay put (yikes, hope I didn't mess up the double negative). Good luck and enjoy - you are ever so lucky to have what you have - and thus, you earned it .
You have a beautiful apartment and I enjoyed your video as always! I was reminiscing about living and working in NYC. I do love West Village, but can’t beat midtown west luxury, prices and views! I loved on E 108th so Harlem but right across from the Central Park and our last year we lived in a lovely building in FiDi, loved being a short ferry ride away from Dumbo!
Hey good news. I love that your were able to keep it and a such great price. The view is so empowering and comforting. I really love natural light. Some people are like negative, always predicting doom. I believe that one should prepare, but no reason to go telling negative stuff to people.

Hi Taylor :) I am also working from home and I can totally understand you arguments for staying in your apartment. I think my choice would be the same if I had to do it. As you say, especially the big windows and the sunlight are important if you sit on your desk the most of your time :)
Hey there!! Yesss the windows and sunlight are such a game changer if working from home
I couldn’t care less about the topic of this video, but that lady has that certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ that keeps you captivated when she speaks. Impressive 👏🏼
haha thank you!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing the deal you got living in the city with the COVID discount, now rent controlled! I also look out a big window when on my laptop at my desk.
Of courseee! Very nice, it's such a game changer huh?!
Walking to the Apple Store near central Park was pretty nice.
your mic investment totally pays off, audio is so great!!!!
so glad you think so, thank you!! Was also super happy with how it sounded in different locations with varying background noise levels
Aw I’m so glad!! Thank you so much!!
Wow, you are blessed 🙌 😇. Your place is beautiful 😍 🤩. That view 😍
Yayyyyy! I just saw your apt tour and was desperate thinking you were moving. This place is a gem! So glad you are staying ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love your videos please post more nyc work week life kinda content
Thank you so much!! More to come 😊
Great video! I enjoyed watching! 😃👍
Hey Taylor, I think you should really consider buying your own home when your lease ends You might be able to continue renting out the other units to produce consistent cash-flow if you purchase a multi-family, and you'll be able to tap enjoy the appreciation of the property over time!
Hey there! Totally. Planning to buy property elsewhere once I move out of the city 😊
Hi! I wanted to say that I LOVE the beginning shot of you in front of your window. How do you get that shot without yourself being underexposed? Let me know if you have any tips!
Hi!! Thanks so much! I use soft box lighting for those shots 😊
Loved your thought process. I'm in Greenwich Village in a place with a tiny balcony and a lot of light but there's definitely a price to pay for living downtown.
Aw thanks Anna! Ooh very lovely area, the balcony and a lot of light really makes a difference I'm sure. I can see myself there near you in a couple years 😊
@@TaylorBell your place has such a great energy, light and airy. BTW try citibikes to come downtown, it's so fun on Westside Highway!
I'm so happy you received such a great renewal, Taylor! Is your unit now considered rent-controlled permanently or just for this year?
Thanks so much!! It's rent stabilized for as long as I have the lease 😊 The % increase will change year to year, but it will always be a reasonable increase (1-4%) and nothing like 20-40% thank god
@@TaylorBell Oh nice!! What a perfect scenario 🙂
I love how soothing your videos are. I can be deep in a spreadsheet and watching your videos 😂
Omg thank you!! Hahaha happy to hear that
next destination mars 👽
Sounds fun to me 👽
@@TaylorBell 😂😂😂😜
Great video! Could you explain how your apartment was rent-stabilized when your building was constructed after 1974?
Thank you so much! Idk how it’s determined to be honest, something to do with tax abatements I believe
Loved the way you did multiple shots while storytelling the entire process it has definitely added a spice in your video :)
Thank you so much for noticing! 😊
@@TaylorBell Great, looking forward to it!
As someone who works fully remote from Ohio, I pay $1,400 in Columbus for a 2 bd, 2 bath, 1100sqft and use one bedroom for an office. NYC prices are insane haha.
Sounds about right!
It's exactly the same in London in the UK, the increase in rental prices is craaaaaaaazy.... You have a fantastic deal!
Insane!! yess got so lucky, thank you 😊
First time I didn’t skip an ad
Woohoo! 🥳 thank you!
Great content as always!
It’s nice living with roommate split the cost of monthly and have amazing views.
If I could live in NY I would aim for upper east side or west village. But that is a dream for sure!
Thank you so much!! Totally, I love having my roommate 😊 and upper east side is so lovely too!! Definitely a quaint area to walk around
Yeah I'm in HY and it went up all the way from $4k to $4060. So happy w/ rent stabilization. Never gonna move.
Suchhh a game changer
I'm looking into current / historical rent in SF right now and it's the same level of ridiculous pricing. Apparently there are more deals between October and February (renting offseason?) so I'm hoping that happens before I make my move. Out of curiosity, what month did you re-sign / extend during?
Crazy in SF also! We signed in June but got the deal because of covid
Yes like always my favorite youtuber! You are the best, I love your vibes!
Ahhh thank you!!! 💜
Need more Covid deals....without the covid part.
HA that would be nice huh
You made the smart decision Taylor and what a steal. That view though - you can't not not stay put (yikes, hope I didn't mess up the double negative). Good luck and enjoy - you are ever so lucky to have what you have - and thus, you earned it .
You're so funny and adorable like a Teddybear. Always enjoy your videos
Thank you so much!! Ah all those areas sound lovely. I really enjoy FiDi as well!
Hey good news. I love that your were able to keep it and a such great price. The view is so empowering and comforting. I really love natural light. Some people are like negative, always predicting doom. I believe that one should prepare, but no reason to go telling negative stuff to people.
just loved the background white noise
Thank you!!
The views are awesome and I just keep going back to the channel to just look out your window!🤣🙌
I need this type of confidence in my life and speech. 🔥🔥🔥
Aw!! Thank you!! 😊 have come a long way since I started making videos :)
You really lucked out. Good call keeping the view and the amenities.
Tell me about it! Thanks :)
