First time I see him with out a Les Paul, but then again i havent known of all these GUITAR ROCK guys till i started playing a guitar! like a yr and months ago.
well zakk uses a a light top heavy bottom set, which is pretty much 10 - 17, and then like 30 - 52, or even heavier.. im actually not too sure what he uses right now, but the heavier strings on top give it more tension against the floyd rose, also his shit is probably set up really well to take that beating in low tunings, so if i could recommend anything, go heavier on the strings or just get it adjusted to play in those tunings
@element5333 this guy just posted the clips of him playing from a guitar world lesson dvd that came with the magazine. they give you all the fretwork in a tab format on the dvds, then use clips like this for the different sections. love that shit :)
@wareaglebabe11 There are SEVERAL videos of Zakk not playing gibsons. lol. I saw Black Label Society live last april and he played a dean with a bullseye lol
at the end of the world, lava will be pouring from the sky, and zakk wylde will be standing atop a massive tower of skulls and with the wind and ashes flowing through the air he shal play a guitar solo so awesome that he repels all the demons and saves the human race
Pffffft that was easy, I can do this is in my sleep now Thanks to this video! YAY baby.....oh wait....can you rewind it please, I didn't get like "where to hold my hands", which key etc. and well... everything
He's not missing notes. When you have a high end Gibson with really hot humbuckers shoved thru an all tube Marshall stack on high gain this is just how noisy it is. Every nuance gets picked up. But when it gets played over a band/recording those extra noises aren't audible. This is what his recorded solo would sound like pulled out of the mix. I know because I have this setup.
There were outtakes from this session where Zakk played "some fiddly diddly" bullshit, as he called it. Does anyone know where I could find those uploads. I've searched everywhere.
You could say that, but I think he just wanted to add his own style to it rather than make it note for note. I'm sure Zakk wanted Randy's version to remain "Randy's version"!!
Because you don't play through a Floating - tremolo guitar and my comment was 1 month ago, I saw another video of him with his Gibson Flying V and he says he has a Schaller floyd rose on it, one the best floating tremolo system out there (besides the original floyd rose) and I also saw the back of his guitar, 3 springs for string tension, Alright I don't have to explain it to you.
Consolous probs Zakk's got custom made one which is not exactly from Randy Rhoads, As you can see Randy Rhoads's one does not have locking nut and floydRose tremolo system cus he didn't like floating bridge.. I think Randy prefered solid bridge. And it's not Jackson's flying V, Randy's also custom made from guitar maker Carl sandoval..
he absolutely could lol, ddarrio makes a 10-52 set and ghs makes a 10-52 set also, his signature sets from GHS are actually 10-60 and 10-70, look it up.
you dont get to say a word until you have actually put in the amount of hours that zakk has practiced, meybe then you can see why he picks that way and you wont make a fool of yourself by showing disrespect to one of the best guitar player of all freaking time.
if ure trying to learn pinch harmonics it wont really help. practice a lot and after some time it will become natural. try playing some not too diffucult melodies using only pinch hamornics, and try not to do it in open positions
I didn't even finish my comment because you wouldn't understand, you just don't play through a floating system. And there are two videos of him playing with his Flying V , most of the time he plays on low tunings check out this video called uhm... , I think it's Zakk Wylde Guitar and he shows and tells about his flying V and you can see the back of his guitar with the springs
The reason he doesn't play it flawless like on the recording is because on the recording it is edited and you've learned to like the sound of edited guitar solos. Pretty much all his long solos are filled with spliced edits. He still rocks regardless !!
@element5333 he sows how to play it and u try as good as u can to play it like him, more like some sort of demonstration really :P but u get more views if u call it a lesson
Wow! That just spoke volumes to me. In other words it is very apparent he is doctored up alot in the studio and you can tell from this small clip he did here. Also what the heck is he doing with a Randy Rhodes Guitar... simply not worthy! :(
(To 01goddim) Randy is ozzy's sound. He created Crazy Train,Mr. Crowley,Flying High Again,Revelations,Diary of a Madman,Suicide Solution, etc. He pretty much invented all of ozzy's greats (except for Jake E Lee's phenomenal Bark At the Moon).I respect Zakk's skill but he really hasn't created any groundbreaking material.
this is not a lesson this is a 'watch me play suck3rzzzz!!' or if you guys think this is a lesson... this a lesson like 'YOU CAN'T DO THIS SHIT DONT EVER TRY IT!!!!' and then u cry..
@nicolegir you're kidding right? that's Zakk Wylde...he was the guitarist for Ozzy, and current guitarist for Black Label Society... how is it that you're learning this song, but don't know who Zakk is??? what the fuck???
Okay, no need for the million posts. The problem I have is that it's Randy's original desighn. If Zakk had a polkadotted Les Paul that said "RR" on it or something that would be different. The fact that he has to rip off Randy's guitar is just kinda lame. Like I said, ever since Zakk had this remake, now EVERYONE wants one. it's just not right, it's Randy's guitar.
Zakk really wanted to make sure that we are aware of that he really can play this solo
Ron Jarzombek, Guthrie Govan, Shawn Lane, Santiago Dobles, the list goes on
First time I see him with out a Les Paul, but then again i havent known of all these GUITAR ROCK guys till i started playing a guitar! like a yr and months ago.
i just love that guitar
it's a lesson because in the magazine it also comes with the tabs to what he's playing.
@brt927 The guitar in this video is his main recording guitar for solos - he uses the custom gibson for riffs and this one for soloing :)
zakk wylde is awsum
there is so much bass on that amp is sound his picking sounds like tree branches snapping and blowing in the wind!!
I think he's earned a chance to play it!
I WANT THAT GUITAR IN MY MOUTH.
well zakk uses a a light top heavy bottom set, which is pretty much 10 - 17, and then like 30 - 52, or even heavier.. im actually not too sure what he uses right now, but the heavier strings on top give it more tension against the floyd rose, also his shit is probably set up really well to take that beating in low tunings, so if i could recommend anything, go heavier on the strings or just get it adjusted to play in those tunings
Zakks lesson is
Lesson 1 keep up
Lesson 2 if you can’t keep up come back when you can.
Lesson 3 keep up 😂
I also play with 10 gauge strings but i have some problems with the floyd rose, what you think
woooh, zakk slow down
zakks awsome
Hey thanks for the advice
paul gilbert does also
I fucking LOVE this solo!!!
@element5333 this guy just posted the clips of him playing from a guitar world lesson dvd that came with the magazine. they give you all the fretwork in a tab format on the dvds, then use clips like this for the different sections. love that shit :)

damn, this guitar sounds so fucking good
Where did he mess up? He's playing it a lot slower than the recorded version.
I saw Ozzy a while back and he introduced Zack as 'a man who never washes his hands after taking a shit' i thought it was funny
i agree, and mr. crowley and bark at the moon.
Pffffft that was easy, I can do this is in my sleep now Thanks to this video! YAY baby.....oh wait....can you rewind it please, I didn't get like "where to hold my hands", which key etc. and well... everything
@element5333 you have to full screen it and strain your eyes and remember where to put your fingers.
Hes good.
@element5333 Cause he played it slow and very articulated...and we can see his fingers
wut kinda guitar is dat, a laguna?
his actual guitar or a remake?
True that!
He's not missing notes. When you have a high end Gibson with really hot humbuckers shoved thru an all tube Marshall stack on high gain this is just how noisy it is. Every nuance gets picked up. he bending up or down ? or those bar - bend things?
Note this was recorded in dropped C# on the original album, therefore on other lesson vids you'll hear him talk about playing it in the Dm position.
There were outtakes from this session where Zakk played "some fiddly diddly" bullshit, as he called it. Does anyone know where I could find those uploads. I've searched everywhere.
hhahah 0:24, shit, picked my own hair
@Saitekman Tabs are amazing for that.
That is so amazing I'd give anything to be able to move my hands like that
You could say that, but I think he just wanted to add his own style to it rather than make it note for note. I'm sure Zakk wanted Randy's version to remain "Randy's version"!!
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he's teaching us that master petrucci owns the universe.
otimo
2020?
it's mainly cuz of the guitar that his tone is like this
How did Zakk get that Randy Rhoads jackson flying V?
Hes a Fucking Millionaire
Consolous probs Zakk's got custom made one which is not exactly from Randy Rhoads, As you can see Randy Rhoads's one does not have locking nut and floydRose tremolo system cus he didn't like floating bridge.. Ho could he use 52 is a light bass g string.
@element5333 When they say ``Lesson´´ they mean watching the guy play the guitar from a closer view. Its not really a lesson.
if ure trying to learn pinch harmonics it wont really help. practice a lot and after some time it will become natural. try playing some not too diffucult melodies using only pinch hamornics, and try not to do it in open positions
no open coiled humbuckers
I've never heard him play it flawless apart from in the studio version. Lots of background noise too.
@TheCurseOfMetal lol thats how learn too. i watch the artist play it and also listen by ear, im not much a fan of tabs.
@element5333 He's trying to teach us that we'll never be that good.
Animal!!!
i guess just cause it's the last section (part 7 of 7)
are those soapbars on that guitar?
the very beginning sounds a bit different than whats on the record
I didn't even finish my comment because you wouldn't understand, you just don't play through a floating system.
And there are two videos of him playing with his Flying V , most of the time he plays on low tunings
check out this video called uhm... , I think it's Zakk Wylde Guitar and he shows and tells about his flying V and you can see the back of his guitar with the springs
anyone else find zakk's tone a little fuzzy in this vid?
The reason he doesn't play it flawless like on the recording is because on the recording it is edited and you've learned to like the sound of edited guitar solos. Pretty much all his long solos are filled with spliced edits. He still rocks regardless !!
Lol in another video he played it flawlessly.
@@idontreadreplies.252 live he would just water down his own parts and doesn’t play it like the record.
Damn he played it with his thumb.
@HernandoHeatBasebal1 sounds like disturbed huh
@element5333 he sows how to play it and u try as good as u can to play it like him, more like some sort of demonstration really :P but u get more views if u call it a lesson
How can he keep his floyd rose floating with such a low tuning!
I'd like to know that
wat randy copy? zakk made the song
I'd love to be able to play this but it's a little out of my league...
Wow! That just spoke volumes to me. In other words it is very apparent he is doctored up alot in the studio and you can tell from this small clip he did here. Also what the heck is he doing with a Randy Rhodes Guitar... simply not worthy! :(
Hahaha no prob fellah ;)
Yeah, exactly. He has his own model of guitars he dosen't need to rip off Randy's original desighn. It's not not right.
Yea who's this guy again, he's not bad, sounds like he took some lessons
(To 01goddim) Randy is ozzy's sound. He created Crazy Train,Mr. Crowley,Flying High Again,Revelations,Diary of a Madman,Suicide Solution, etc. He pretty much invented all of ozzy's greats (except for Jake E Lee's phenomenal Bark At the Moon).I respect Zakk's skill but he really hasn't created any groundbreaking material.
I think he's drunk
His picking style can tire you out real fast. He uses his forearm as opposed to his wrist.
sweet fucking hair!
12 person listening the error. lol even so I like..........
Insert pinch harmonic here
Preach it, my man. Zakk and Randy are both great in their own right.
I will level with Peter in one aspect:
Kid Rock sucks. Hard.
True that. Opinions suck, eh? =P
theres no bridges in these lessons :S
It would be nice if you could play it right!!
Just kidding!! That was AWESOME
ahhhhhhhh he missed a note at 0:22 xD, but, no one is perfect, :D
it was to slow for him :D I know I am replying 8 years after your comment but anyway...
Hey I'm not arguing dude!
chill out haha!
I was just saying that I already find out the way he uses his floyd rose
@element5333 Watch and learn.
@element5333 use ur ear
this is not a lesson this is a 'watch me play suck3rzzzz!!' or if you guys think this is a lesson... this a lesson like 'YOU CAN'T DO THIS SHIT DONT EVER TRY IT!!!!' and then u cry..
That's Zakk for ya.
Great player, not such a great teacher, lol.
@1396imabeast If you cant learn the solo from this video, then you need to improve your technique man.
@element5333 TRUE DAT! SOME BS! HES NOT WORTHY (i mean.. hes good and all, but NOT WORTHY!!!!)
@nicolegir you're kidding right? that's Zakk Wylde...he was the guitarist for Ozzy, and current guitarist for Black Label Society... how is it that you're learning this song, but don't know who Zakk is??? what the fuck???
Dude, you have problems! LOL
Okay, no need for the million posts. The problem I have is that it's Randy's original desighn. If Zakk had a polkadotted Les Paul that said "RR" on it or something that would be different. The fact that he has to rip off Randy's guitar is just kinda lame.
Like I said, ever since Zakk had this remake, now EVERYONE wants one. it's just not right, it's Randy's guitar.
he's using too much distortion, it's harder to pick out the tones that way.
Zakk doesn´t warmed up here, that solo is the best. :(
@Bootscoot33 its actualy randy rhoads based guitar zack steals alot of randys stuff and thats y half of the world doesnt like him
@SoalHarvester03 you'd play that guitar if you could too. and randy would want you to. stop being so jealous.
I like ocrues version better!! =)
Zakk Wylde doesn't have to talk to give someone a lesson. ha ha ha
