Honestly for us.. we are retired now.. if we got extra days on the ship for free and provided all the same benefits I would be smiling every extra minute on board and taking advantage of what the ship had to offer.. I would feel safe because the Captain isn’t taking stupid chances just to get the ship into port on time.. good on him.. I do get it for those that are not in our position and yes it would be STRESS STRESS STRESS for those.. but for us.. Enjoy the opportunities that are thrust upon us by fate..
With the towel problem either place 1 on the sink side, or the inside on your bathroom door, but hang it on 1 of your strong magnets ,or if you have a shower handle with with space between shower door and handle insert it in that gap,but make the towel skinny and flat, hope these options work.☀️👋💕🇦🇺
I don’t know if you will ever see my remarks, since this transatlantic cruise was so long ago. However, I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your daily recaps, because we were actually on the same exact transatlantic cruise, and you saw things we never got to see, so it made me feel like I didn’t miss as much as I would have otherwise. We actually were on the ship 16 days (Athens to Southampton) before the transatlantic portion. We had so many ports on the first 16 days that we didn’t get to see and do as much on the ship. We were in a mini-suite, which was a beautiful spacious room. Our shower was much bigger than yours and we had more closet space. Since we had 3 days in Southampton before the transatlantic cruise, I took some pictures from the doorway of rooms they were turning over for the new cruisers, and I was surprised how different the layouts were for the same type of cabin. I definitely preferred the layout of our mini-suite than the others. I felt sorry for our first cabin steward. He seemed so overwhelmed and couldn’t keep up with everything. He either got transferred or asked to be transferred, because our cabin steward on the transatlantic portion was the best. I agree with your wrap up and pros and cons. Venues too small, including Princess Live, which we almost never got in. Didn’t like that Crooners was so open and close to what was going on in the Piazza. I think I finally got to see all 3 production shows and 2 of the Dome shows, only because someone gave us the tip about waiting in the bar. I would not have been able to stand in line for an hour or more. At least I could sit most of the time in the bar. Would I cruise on the Sun or Star again, maybe if it was the right itinerary and now that I know how to get around to see and do most everything, but after over 30 Princess cruises, I probably prefer some of their other ships. Thanks again for showing us so much of what we missed on the transatlantic cruise.
Shower chat, very beneficial information! Going on cruise with my limited mobility mother and was placed "on call" for shower assistance, after seeing your video I believe I've been upgraded to "on duty"😉 I really appreciate your video!
I'm very impressed with your wrap-up. You touched on many real issues of the ship and what really didn't work in their new approaches. I don't know, does Princess really want to make 5 of this class and have they modified the 2nd in class (Star?) to address the issues? Yes, the cruise elements, shows, music groups, food, that stuff looks wonderful. But the physical ship has issues. Cruising is personal and some will love it. But I do encourage people to look past the "beautiful new ship" impressions and more at the way the spaces operate and feel. A hot dome area that is not always open to the public and has lines to wait for it is not a great design or execution. And several others aspects are similar. Do you need the cozy sections? Then this isn't the ship either. Because it is the newest may not be good enough for experienced cruisers or ones looking for a particular cruise. This is really one of the best resources I've seen and this is a very likable and personable couple. Many thanks to you and safe travels. Subscribed.
Love your honest reviews your so funny Jay ! I wouldn't want to wait 1 or more hours for a show I only went on 2 cruises and they were both mid size ships and I loved them
Great videos . We are from the UK and cruised on Sun in September, we share your views . We are back on in a few weeks, looking forward to seeing the dining changes .
Just sailed - IC still had the bacon and egg sammies. New Americana was overrun by the buffet - they need to draw that line a bit more boldly! We still had European water and milks. Some crew boarded in San Juan which helped with the bar staffing issues. Overall we loved the ship!!!
Dee & Jay liked the sun princess series so much that thinking of booking on it for 2026 when it’s over in Greece. Do you book airfare for people when they book through you for a cruise? It will be the first non carnival ship we will be on. Great videos.
Hi D&J! Awesome series. If you’re a first-time Princess (been on Carnival,RC,NCL) would you recommend the Sun or it’s sisters when they are built? We are in our 50’s but active and looking for more adult cruises. Thoughts?
Crooners, on all the princess ships I have been on, is open concept; but the Wheelhouse has always been a closed in venue, where I have spent many hours meeting new people; i'm sad to hear that has changed.
They should probably introduce a reservation system for dome shows, like what they do on Royal. Why waste half your day waiting in line to see a show on vacation? Also when you said guest services gave you cards to open your cabin door, was it an actual old fashion key card? I like collecting those after cruises.
I am so glad you guys it sounds like finally got back. I was worried because I know there's a delay on these and I knew there were delays with some of the ships. I do slightly disagree because I absolutely think princess owes you free internet and free beverage if you are on extended regardless of whether you actually pay for that sorry. I don't think it's nice of them I think it is required of them
How would you compare the "small venues" on the Sun Princess to NCL Prima/Viva? Is it similar in the small sizes that I have heard some complaints about and how would you compare those ships?
Shows .... we only did one Regal Princess cruise, and that was soooo tough for seating before a show. We didn't even get in a few times due to not getting there fast enough after dinner. Eating dinner at the buffet was the only way we could make it. They really need to fix this. Thanks for the honest review. Definitely NOT my cup of tea.

We did Princess 1 time. 28 N Pacific with Premier and in a Suite. There is not enough room for our complaints on this cruise. It was last November/December. We turned around and did the "same" cruise (35N) on Holland for the first time the next February. We had Club Orange and had a wonderful time. Will NEVER do Princess again. Would do Holland again. Will mainly do Celebrity otherwise, which is our go to cruiseline. We are ElitePlus. On another note- noticed your pumpkin earrings Dee- cute for Fall! Thanks for telling it like it is.
I always wait for “In the shower with Jay” lol 😂

I just wanted to say how much I enjoy the two of you and your interaction.

Woohooo! I can’t wait for the Oceania series!

Moral of the story bigger isn’t always better by the sound of it
Neither is newer or newest.

Had a great time reminiscing about how right your comments were from the Transatlantic. Thanks!
Very detailed, helpful review.
We truly enjoyed your honest review! You had great points that would help us all know if this ship is right for us. Thank you!

It should be interesting to see what changes they make to the Star.

Awesome! Only airfare through the cruise line, but yes!! :D

Had to come back and rewatch "In the shower with Jay" and see again, how did it rate against the Oceania shower!

Great job to you both. What Princess ship do you put at the top of your list?
Thank you
Probably the newer Royal class ships. Discovery, Sky, Enchanted.
That medallion batter issue is unexpected. I wonder what they do on longer itineraries (like trans-pacific or world cruises)

Princess needs to have a show booking on the app like MSC
How would you compare the "small venues" on the Sun Princess to NCL Prima/Viva? Is it similar in the small sizes that I have heard some complaints about and how would you compare those ships?
I would as well.
I wanted to try but now I am not sure, never been on princess before.
Sailing on her in January
I love princess, but not really excited for Sun and not plans to try her!
P.s. Canadian bacon and ham are not the same, come from different parts
I was on majestic princess. The food was bland, service slow even for premiere people next to in the dining room. I prefer Norwegian or Holland

Surprised to see a political ad here and on some other sites. But always look forward to your vlogs.

As a Canadian, we are confused why Americans keep calling ham, "Canadian bacon" as our bacon is the same as yours.

I was tripping on the floors on majestic....yikes
Sounds like nice ship but not for us. Too many people in limited space
