If you go through the cmd prompt method and want to undo it copy/past this cmd: reg delete "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32" /f /ve It's the exact same one from the description but instead of adding what it added it'll remove it and turn it back to normal. Again you will have to restart your computer
Truly amazing how Microsoft's UI/UX team managed to add all the things I will never use to the default right click menu, and hide all the ones I will use.
THANK YOU!!!!!!! This was the dumbest thing ever!!!!! Why did they make that stupid change?!!! "Show more options", like ALWAYS DING DONGS!. You fixed it, first option worked for me the first time so I know the second one works. Guys, he's legit!
Pro tip, if for whatever reason you can't or do not want to restart your computer but would like the changes to be applied, you can open "task manager" select "Show details" and then navigate to the bottom of the application and you'll see "File explorer" you can right click it and press "restart" and it will reload windows explorer and apply the change, I hope that helps! Although a restart is always recommended, you can use this as a stop gap to get you to a point where you can restart, same goes for file explorer bugs.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! i had loads of work to do and i didnt want to have to restart my whole pc and have to open everything again. you are a life-saver!
Thank you for the great instruction! That "show more options" thing was on my nerves for months. Just a weird glitch for others to be aware of: after I restarted my computer, the issue wasn't resolved, but after the second restart, everything worked smoothly.
Oh man I'm so glad I found this video - since early this year I HATED that Windows 11 changed that setting. Most annoying thing! Thanks for uploading this - my sanity is restored!!
One of these annoying, arrogant and unnecessary changes MS likes to make all the time. One day into Windows 11 and this was already irritating the hell out of me. But along came this video ! I don't like fiddling in regedit, but the second option worked like a charm. Thank you so much !! Subscribed 👍
Thanks for your help! Cmd prompt worked perfect for me. I just got a new computer - new to windows 11 and I could never have dealt with that minimized menu.
THANK YOU! While the CMD approach did not work for me, the REGEDIT was perfect. Now I feel much more confident to update more of my computers to WIN11. I really don't like what MS did for this.
Thank tapdancing christ, you are a saint for making this video. It's almost like Windows 11 wants you to hate it by default by constantly making things more difficult for no reason.
If after adding the registry key's this is not work for you, open PowerShell in your PC and write "Stop-Process -Name explorer" and press enter, it it should work.
Thanks, it worked like a charm in Windows 11 22H2. Gave you a like 👍. This one, not showing all the installed programs by default at the start menu and not having an option to make icons smaller at the task bar are three changes that I REALLY disliked from Windows 11. I hope Microsoft does something about this in future updates.
Cheers, you doubled the life expectancy of my mouse switches. Seriously why did Microsoft add a step for a system that already worked completely fine...

aaa thank you so much! I used the first method and it worked! I just forgot the "{ }" at the beginning and end. After one restart, the method worked! Instant subscribe :)
Why do windows 11 make is click more times for the same options that in previous generation? How is that improvement in anyway? Thanks for video man, you save me a lot of time in a long run
Why can't they just make it a toggleable option? We have to edit the registry to change this instead of them just providing a fucking checkbox in the system options menus for us?
do microsoft employees watch youtube? this is all over the youtube, they need to do something like add an option to put more options to their default right click menu.

Why is this not in system options? Instead of making windows simpler they make it more complicated. Insted of clicking once, we have to click multiple times to access same options. Great Video, Thank you very much
I recommend method 2, much faster than hunting through those file path things and most importantly it works. Thanks, extracting many files with winrar was a nightmare on my new laptop that has windows 11 by default, now it won't.

Dude - if you're ever in town - I'll buy you dinner. Of all the thousands of possible things about which users have complained to Microsoft over the years - literally not a single end-user went: hey man I really think ya'll should hide all the default right click options which people have gotten used to over the past 20 years. I used the CMD method - and upon restart it worked PERFECTLY.
its not working for me im using a normal not admin standard account not microsoft, but launched the regedit with admin privileges and already rebooted still showing this annoying 'show more options' in order to get to the old menu, not sure what im missing Nice video though

Thank you very much for your service!
It was called "windows explorer" on my computer, not "file explorer" but it worked great.
@@User22308 You are correct, I believe from windows 10 and below it was file explorer, but in windows 11 it's now windows explorer, my mistake
thank you so much, I had alot of tabs open and couldn't restart my computer. you saved me!
Thanks for this, the regedit worked perfectly. Now I wont have to click on "Show more options" every single time. Definitely subbing.
Glad it helped

This is what I expect from a tutorial. A quick, simple and straight solution. Btw, it works
works perfectly thanks.. also you don't need to restart the whole computer, just restart explorer in the task manager

Thanks! You're saved me from going some sort of rampage because have to click it EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Glad I could help!
Thank you so much, sir. I hate having to click show more options when I want to use 7-zip.
august 2024 and still have to do this steps :) ....anyway thanks, it worked for me the first solution.
THANK YOU! While the CMD approach did not work for me, the REGEDIT was perfect. Now I feel much more confident to update more of my computers to WIN11. I really don't like what MS did for this.

Thanks for this tutorial.

It works in method 1. Thanks pal.
You are most welcome!

Great job!
Thank you so much. It's baffling to me that they made the change in the first place. A step backwards in user friendliness.
You're so welcome!
Thank you! Having to click 'show more options' every time I right clicked was really getting on my nerves.
Thank you Sir for doing the microsoft's job!
Thank you very much!
it's worked for me (even after 1 years since you post it!)
You're welcome!

Thank you. Worked and was a simple tutorial.
Why can't they just make it a toggleable option? We have to edit the registry to change this instead of them just providing a fucking checkbox in the system options menus for us?
thank you for this!!! :D just got a backup laptop with preinstalled windows 11 and i hate the new right click menu so much.
Regedit worked great thank you! Why Microsoft forces these terrible changes to windows is beyond me.
do microsoft employees watch youtube? this is all over the youtube, they need to do something like add an option to put more options to their default right click menu.
I'm an MS employee... I disable this as well haha. BUT I am not on the Windows team :(. I really do wish they would add an option though!
of course if you will do this multiple times create one then export the key and you can just right click and import on other machines.
Thank you!!! That's brilliant, the cmd promp method worked perfectly!!
Great to hear!
Worked like a charm! Thank you.
First method worked first try super clear instructions thank you so much!
Glad it helped!
Thank you, Thank you. This worked great.👍
Thanks. Ridiculous UI change. Equally ridiculous how hard it is to change back.
Thanks heaps. Huge inconvenience when dealing with photography etc though, the quick delete icon was useful!
to the point, option 2 works like a charm to me, thank you

Right?!
Thank you. I did have to enter 0 in the InprocServer32 value data for it to work.
thank you so much my friend, you solved something that windows messed up
Why is this not in system options?
Instead of making windows simpler they make it more complicated.
Insted of clicking once, we have to click multiple times to access same options.

Yes, you are right

The Edit Reg method didn't work, but the cmnd method works for me
this is the most stupid changes in windows11
Only the "most" stupid. Seriously contemplating going back to Windows 10.
Thanks for the help mate

Which genious from Redmond desided this was a good idea ? Has Steve Ballmer started coding ? Except in Nebraska.
Thanks, helped me a lot!
What a relief! Thank you!

Awesome! Thank you so much!
With registry edits, make sure to restart your PC. I was listening to this video while listening to music and may have missed that step.
100% worked thank you
Too complicated. Needs to be a setting option. I have yet to do ANYTHING in the short menu when I right-click on a document.
Super thanks for this.
our lord Saviour, thanks so much pal. That was the most anoying feature of Win 11 for me.
thank you, but how do you uundo this and return to default if you used option 2
Thank you mate
The problem for me is I can't right click at all.
