I used the app instead. It's easy, maybe I'll just copy the commands for the CMD that's for emergency use if we don't have the app and can't download it.
Just a note here, when you edit the last key in the reg editor, put the value to 0 instead of blank. For me it just reseted to 'value not set' after explorer restart. With a 0 it works.
Thank you so much for this. I'm so used to the old menu that simple commands being changed with icons and having to click "more options" to find things that I'm use to being readily available by default really threw me off when I upgraded to 11.
My guy, I just got a new gaming laptop with Windows 11 yesterday after 8 years of Windows 10 You have no idea how much of a life saver this vid is. Thank you
Thanks for all these videos that help windows users bring back what has been productive for us in the past versions of windows. I don't know why MS made it so troublesome and difficult for users. Just make it direct and to the point. SO far i had reverted this right click menu and also the taskbar to the old windows 10 format with how-to videos at youtube.
Wow, thanks a million for making this video 'especially' for your second option, a TON easier than doing it manually, and a million more thanks for posting the link for it in the description!
Thanks again for a spot-on video. When XP went to Windows 7 I did a load of tweaks to work and look like XP but I kept getting friends asking me how do I do things in 7, but I didn't know so I went back and changed things to 7. I can see the same thing happening here.
Perhaps. However when it comes to something minor like the right click menu that's different. It's just a more cumbersome version of the menu that's been around for over a decade. Instead of having easy access to WinRar or 7Zip, or the Nvidia control panel if you have an Nvidia GPU, among many other things, the right click of Windows 11 is the same as Windows 10, but with an extra click or three pointlessly added to the equation.
I saw lots of tutorials video and text but non of them changed the context menu Bravo this is the first time i see someone's guide really work RESPECT FOR YOU im so happy you never imagine this was the only thing in win 11 had bother me for copy and paste actions or create new folders now im glad .. subscribed to make up this
When changing user registry keys you don't have to restart for them to take effect, you can log off and back on again. Local machine keys yeah you have to restart your computer.
I'm so glad i found this! When i got my new laptop with Windows 11, not only was i appalled to find it had 'Alexa built-in' , Microsoft edge and Bing, but there was this crazy stupid non-intuitive context menu where all my go-to useful things like copy and paste for instance, were hidden behind a load of useless garbage! Thankyou!! - How do i get rid of the gadgets?
Will definitely be sticking with 10 for the foreseeable future. Everyone knows by now every second windows release is garbage. Hoping Windows 12 becomes the next OS worth using.
This is a great video Brian with good information i chose the easy middle option and im so pleased to have the menu this way im just getting used to win11 which on the whole i like but this is the best way for me to have the menu Thank you
Thanks for the video Downloading the registery keys and enabling it worked fine Was frustrated for long time of this new windows 11 context menu. Was not aware there was option to change it
Hi Brian, Please come up with a fix so that I can select the option "Never Combine Taskbar Buttons" on Windows 11. I dislike having to hover over an icon in the taskbar to see what is behind it and then select which screen to open. Windows 10 had that option Windows 11 doesn't. Thanks
Great video. Well explained. You beautiful human for making this video. Saved me so much time removing the Windows 11 context annoying new right click menu .
It sounds like it will take a month of modifications to get it to work like windows 10. Might as well just stick to windows 10 as I do not see enough benefits to switch at this point.
Second method for me. Much appreciated. You may wish to inform your subscribers about "copy to/move to" reg edits that are out there, if you don't have them. Very simple clicks and can be moved to new computers if you keep them available.
on win 10 i had another menu button next to the other one in the system tray, if you clicked it a sidebar opens on the right and it shows your whole pc, can you get that back?
Hate Windows 11 Right Click Context Menu? Change it. Drop us a LIKE 👍
Thanks this has been driving me nuts. Shame that they got rid of your ratios.
The first option you gave does not work at all. Going to try the others now. EDIT: Second option worked like a charm. Thanks!
Britec09 You sir are a bloody champion ! Been driving me mad thought i would find a fix and eliminate this once and for all. Appreciated !

don't know why this video gets 38 dislikes.. this is definitely a very simple trick and a very helpful video.
thank u. sir.

A ten minute video for something that we shouldn't even have to do. Thanks for the help, devs/decision makers at MS are pathetic.

OMG MAN THANK YOU SO MUCH! I THOUGHT IT WOULD JUST GO BACK TO THE WINDOWS 10 VERSION BUT IT STILL HAS THE CURVED EDGES THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUU
I kinda like the W11 one, but it's missing a few options I regularly use, going to use this one instead. Thanks! :)
I've returned to like your video as a token of my appreciation after i restarted my pc
The first option you gave does not work at all. Going to try the others now. EDIT: Second option worked like a charm. Thanks!
I literally do not understand why they made your simple Copy, Paste, etc in a second window covered up by useless crap. So ridiculous. Thank you!
it works just download file from discription and merge the registary keys 😊😊😊
Thanks! Now I have the old menu back
You're welcome
I don't even have windows 11 but just watching this video cuz why not
Thanks for the support
@@Britec09 Your welcome. I'm a nerd ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Registry Editor with Task Manager Windows Explorer restart option worked for me. Thank you!
Make sure you close "X" Registry Editor before you restart Windows Explorer through Task Manager.
What can i say, very clever :) I'm so used to the classic context menu that this is somehow a performance boost :D Thanks!!
You're welcome!
if you think that your Windows 11 right-click menu is laggy better do what this man said
it worked for me because my right-click was laggy

Great... never undestood why copy in the new desktop context menu is an icon but in explorer is text... win 11 is a lazy attempt of a modern OS.
yeah, I don't like that context menu
Obviously Windows 11 works best after you replace it with Windows 10.
lol
Will definitely be sticking with 10 for the foreseeable future. Everyone knows by now every second windows release is garbage. Hoping Windows 12 becomes the next OS worth using.
You rock! It's been driving me nuts for months!
Thanks for giving me back control I was afraid I had lost with the upgrade. Great video. 👍👍👍
