If you’ve been using the reMarkable Paper Pro, what are the things you can’t live without? And for those of you considering it, what would you want to use it for most? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
I was considering getting the remarkable 2 when it first came out a while ago but I ended up not buying it. A few months ago, the thought of purchasing the Remarkable reentered my mind and I still chose to avoid buying it. Then this RPP came out and the thoughts started running back to me. I’ve always been a huge fan of writing by hand for taking notes, for journaling, for studying, etc but I couldn’t justify paying the price because I could get as much done with an affordable, relatively cheap physical notebook so I waited for some of the reviews. A little over a week ago i ordered one and thought that I could just send it back if I didn’t enjoy it so I bought it and I got my first Remarkable (the RPP) a few days ago. I fell in love with it.
I was not convinced with the pro and went and got the remarkable 2 which i think, for my liking is a better deal. it is smaller which makes it look more like a normal note book so its not as heavy and large to carry. there is no latency when writing. and most importantly, the background color is bright and white and contrasts well with the black writing whereas the pro has a grey background. the advantages of the Pro are half baked to be honest. the one nice advantage is having 64GB vs. 8 GB on remarkable 2. i compared both before buying the Remarkable 2 via actual use + watching a number of youtube videos comparing both..
I use colors a lot while writing, unfortunately the device struggles when too many colors are used on one page. It takes a lot of time to refresh and sometimes the page turns black when you flip pages. Sometimes I have to turn it off so it can refresh all the accumulated chaos. The device needs significant improvements to match the quality expected for its price
Thanks for your feedback. There's an update coming in the next few days; I don't think it addresses your specific issues but hopefully we see some improvements as the time goes.
Has anyone come across the screen no longer responding to the marker plus or even a finger touch? I have had it just under a month and love it. Just stopped responding to all screen touch. Tried all the troubleshooting with reMarkable support staff, still not fixed have to return it and get a new one.
Can you connect the RPP to a Linux machine and transfer PDFs onto it? How about transferring annotated PDFs from the device using the wired connection to a machine running Linux?
Hey Frank, I'm not a Linux user but based on a quick search it seems the option to use wired connection and connect via browser works. Here's an interesting reedit conversation with some useful comments: www.reddit.com/r/RemarkableTablet/comments/11wj494/connect_and_linux/
Don't buy it.. As I said, after remarkable paper pro I lost all faith in reMarkable. flickering and terrible writing. Wait for a hardware fix. Lots of people are asking for returns
Hey there, yes some of the bookstores place DRM protection to prevent the book/magazine from being used on other devices. You can check one of my videos on how to try and remove DRM protection (simple step-by-steo video); apparently it should work with Adobe Digital Editions although I haven't tested these ones personally.
@ of course! I think they should take it off the market before they lose face! The writing sensation was much better on the RM2! It has serious problems: when you refresh the page or use color (even just to highlight) that blinking is very annoying! I preferred a larger MR2 with 1300 technology! With the same writing sensation!
@@Christian-VainYou obviously didn't understand a bit of the technology behind this Color-E-ink Display. Just google "Gallery 3" and you'll see that the stock version of Gallery 3 need about 1.5 to 3 seconds for switching colors. ReMarkable clearly developed it way further for the Paper Pro. The reason for this flickering is, that the colours need to be mixed from the base-color particles each time you use a colour. So please try to understand the technology and not complain about something which can't be avoided with this type of screen.

I want to use it most for a planner. Still debating if it is the best device for an electronic planner.
I love your brevity - thank you for respecting our time!

Your comment helped me to make a decision to pass it this time. Thank you.

That's what scares me from buying one

is it possible to pull up a dictionary while reading a PDF ?
Unfortunately not
Can you make voice notes on the Remarkable paper pro?
Hello. No
Im thinking to buy this or the new kindle scribe 📝 I am from Mexico 🇲🇽 and it’s very difficult to buy this 😢, if you were me which one would you buy
What would you use the device the most for? Note taking, reading, or something else?
Don't buy it.. As I said, after remarkable paper pro I lost all faith in reMarkable. flickering and terrible writing. Wait for a hardware fix. Lots of people are asking for returns
Love mine but I don’t love that it’s really hard to get books/manga on it, they need that Adobe Digital Editions thing or whatever it’s called for DRM

Can you elaborate please?

It looks like it's in its early stages. Can't wait to see the new one next year, and if not, then I'll stick to this one.
