DR650 in Sand - Cheat Code Engaged

After struggling in sand with stock Deathwing tires on a new DR650, we decided to experiment by using a motocross knobby in the front. The improvement is huge; night and day vs stock dualsport tire.

I cant decide between a dr650 or wr250r for myself. Going to hit bdr's and and back country roads. How you like it compared to the R?? Thinking I might like the extra torque

On the street I prefer the DR650 but offroad, where things are riskier, I prefer the lighter weight and better offroad chassis of the WR. I prefer to suffer a bit on road for the offroad advantage. If you are heavier or plan to carry a lot of gear, the DR will serve you better.
