On emulators, it's very fun, but on the original Super Scope, I had one hell of a time getting the aiming right and I kept hitting the wrong button to shoot, lol. As I recall there was a trigger button on the handle, but the shoot buttons were in the back, and I kept hitting the handle trigger.
I cannot believe I still remember this and I cannot believe I found it. For so so many years I kept having little fragmented memories of this game, so vague I had basically given up on ever finding it. I even became convinced it was just a series of vivid dreams I'd had as a child or something. But one brief line of text had always stuck in my head through all those years: "Rest in peace... Or should I say pieces!" The chills I got at 21:28 are indescribable. I must have been like 5 years old when I played this all those years ago with my cousin. Thank you so much for uploading this.
Same, I must have been 8 when I was at my neighbors house and we played this through. I didn't know which release it was, this or the prequel, as I only remember the term 'standing tank', but once I saw the Monkey Mech and the Shield-hand mech, it unlocked a wave of nostalgia in me and I knew that was the one. I don't remember these charge shots though, is that the only way to fire or were we just dumb kids that didn't read the instructions and just regular-fired the entire time? I feel like it took us way longer per battle.
Battle Clash was an awesome game, and Metal Combat was a pretty substantial upgrade to it. If you like light gun shooters, this one really can't be missed.
My sister and I had a really messed up childhood. We were very much isolated from society, but this game brings back some very beautiful memories. We used to play it together for hours! I hadn’t thought about this game since 94. Just hearing the intro music has made me shed some tears of happiness bringing back fond memories. Thank you!
It would of been perfect on the Wii with the Wii Zapper, the thing that was made for Links Crossbow Training. Very underrated Nintendo series. It plays so smooth and the slowdown is very minimal for whats going on in the game. The sequel look even better, but Ive never played it. The Super Scope may of been pretty meh but this series is anything but meh. EDIT: this is the sequel. Battleclash is the first game in the series.
@Get money Absolutely I was about 10 or 11 when I first played this game... I still have the personal record of fastest battle against Wong... one-shot kill with tornado... 8 seconds.
Brings back memories. However the fun really starts with Tornado ST + at least Medium Hard Difficulty. That was a challenge. Playing with a friend was a blast.
I loved this game and Battleclash. I bought Battleclash more as a way to support the SuperScope, because I thought it was a cool light gun. But once I started playing it, I fell in love with the world, the mechanical designs, and the characters. I wish Nintendo would go back to it some day, maybe moving away from the arena shooter/light gun mechanic for something else. It's just such a different kind of universe from most other Nintendo properties.
I used to love blowing limbs off the enemy STs in this XD. I recall you could actually expose the pilot of the Uranus ST and see her fat little arms jamming away at the controls.
Ow... hit me right in my childhood. This was my absolute favorite game growing up and makes me wonder why we don't have good light gun games today. Well, besides the end of CRTV's.
Really surprised there was 2 ENDINGS to this game! The playthroughts that I have seen from this game always involves the player shooting the Female Character to defeat the Final Boss! You are probably the 1st one that I've seen trying to avoid KILLING her! NICE!!
xwf1000v3 yeah the endings were as follows: 1. Both Rola and Mike (the ST pilot) die 2. Mike lives Rola dies 3. Rola lives and Mike dies 4. Both Mike and Rola live. There isn't a huge amount of difference in the endings. Mostly who talks to you and what they say. Unless you get the worst ending and then you get nothing but a jump to the credits. The other ST: Tornado only had 2 endings. 1. Rola lives 2. Rola dies
Thanks for bringing it up & also I didn't know there was a second character involved until I did some research an hour ago! I've think I've seen ending 2 in a lot of the Play-throughts but not sure about Number 1 & 3! NintendoComplete did Number 4 I guess! Not sure if he's going to do a Tornado playthrough of the game but that's up to him!
I went the longest time not knowing there was actual gameplay to this game. Most of my SNES games came from yard sales, and I never knew this one required that gun attachment. I would boot it up, press every button trying to start the game, and just watch the long ass intro of all the robots. I never understood what I had to do.

I think I still have mine as well, somewhere. I got a super scope and this game when I was 6 or 7 originally. I'm 32 now with my first baby on the way and I'm sure I have them somewhere in storage but I'd have to dig them up. Id love to show this to my daughter when she is my age when I first played! Edit 4 months later: so I had thought all this time that my super scope was at my grandmas house that I lived with for a while when I was 19/20 - unfortunately she passed away shortly after I made my original comment from covid related issues. Family finally got around to cleaning out her house a couple of weekends ago because the bank is gonna take her house. No sign of my super scope anywhere. Not sure what happened to it, but unfortunately it seems like it's long gone. Funny enough I found the instruction booklet for Battle Clash, but no cartridge or box.
@Get money that totally makes sense, youre still understanding what you like and don't at 4, I could definitely see this making an impression on you at that age! The music is absolutely killer, still stuck with me after all these years too. Feel the same way about those days having friends over trying to beat this game! Soooo much fun, it's a shame its pretty much unknown today except for the handful of people that had a super scope.
Id love to see a new game in this series for the Switch. Maybe pack it in with something similar to the Wii Zapper (the thing from Links Crossbow Training) where you take a single Joycon and put it in the "Switch Zapper" and use that as a light gun. Pack it with 2 of these hypothetical creations so with 2 Joycon, 2 people can play. Hell, make it with a mode for online multiplayer where you can play 2 vs 2 (2 people couch co-op vs another 2 ppl couch co-op). I dont know exactly how it would work with the Joycon, but if the Wii controllers can do it with just a plastic piece of kit, it should be childs play for the Switch with its HD rumble. I know that its beyond a pipe dream, but I think it could be awesome. Then, with this new adapter for the Joycon, comapnies could port a bunch of their old Light Gun games like Time Crisis, House Of The Dead, Elemental Gearbolt, Mad Dog McCree, Hogans Alley, Crypt Killer, Lethal Enforcers, etc.
I'm very surprised to see those bleeding and battered faces after many of the battles. I mean, this game was made by Nintendo! They tended to not do that kind of violence in their games.
This game is why I wish there was still a CRT tv in the house. Nintendo posted them to the Wii Oh well got them on emulator to play so better than nothing.
If you're talking about CRT functionality of the Super Scope, it doesn't use the same tech as the zapper. It uses a receiver so if you really wanted to, you can still buy a Super Scope and the game and use it on an LCD TV.
I never knew a sequel existed to Battle Clash back in the day or I would’ve gotten my parents to get this one for me. Either way I’m gonna have to download it and try it out looks good. I had only Battle Clash and the Super Scope 6 pack in game with my gun back then.
The skill cap on this game is way more insane than most people know, if they never tried the "gold" mode (Hard level 3). I remember my time record for gold mode Virvius 2 being almost 45 minutes. During which he has multiple opportunities to just plain one-shot you. There are other neat additions to this, in that most of the STs have a critical weak point in which you can sometimes one shot them yourself, and also some of them have "secret" berserk modes where, if you destroy certain parts of them, they go completely ape on you and can destroy you almost instantly. The little bat-looking form of the Saturn ST is an example - do not EVER let him live for a moment in that form or you are toast.
I remember renting this game as a child, but the people at the store didn't mention a super scope. I got it home and couldn't play it with a regular controller. We assumed the game was broken and got a refund.
You know what that reminds me of what happened to me when I rented the game Yoshi's Safari and the super scope was not mentioned to me neither like you I felt like the game was broken and I had to get my mother to take it back to Blockbuster
Did you need the scope sight attachment for this game or could you shoot from the hip - in this case, literally? I remember for some games, like T2 The Arcade Game, you had a on-screen sight.
yes you have to have the actual Super scope gun otherwise all you can do in this game is get into the adjust aim screen, and get to the idk leaderboards ( by using combination buttons) but either way. you have to reset the game and thats it

I still remember this game being so fun, being able to destroy multiple parts of the different enemies. But this playthrough is all about efficiency, not fun. So it's really boring to watch...
Why is the music and sound a bit shitty compared to Battleclash? I'd prefer the classic, the original Battleclash. Even though yeah it's cool this game takes you a bit further and added some villians in the later stages, but the game has it's limits anyway. If you are good at it, the villians are too easy to defeat.
@@NeroKnight666of Battleclash right? This game looks shit. The gameplay may be better I believe but not the rest. Especially the music of Battleclash is top. Im listening to it now. This game has Gameboy quality music. Its garbage. Also the characters look very lame compared to Battleclash. Nothing epic about it. Again the gameplay could very well be better but not the rest.

There isn't, but SNES9XGX runs it perfectly on a jailbroken Wii.
If you play through with the female pilot all the dialogue is different - also there is a major plot twist!
I Never got that many power ups playing the game.

i wish nintendo would revive this ip
Quiero este personaje a smash bros de switch 2, podría rivalisar con duck hunt. ❤❤❤❤❤❤, amo nintendo. Saludos.
This reminds me so much of Pacific Rim..
Ypu just play the half of the game... Theres a second history after the first final battle.
Nah, the music and sounds are improved.
@@raphaelsorel6907 doesnt sound like it.. Battleclash has a very memorable soundtrack
@@Real_DMraider So does this game.
@@NeroKnight666 im listening to the music and it sucks. Like gameboy music. Im lost how u rate this also better at the music department.
Gameplay again, sure.
Ugly game
Troll.
