What surprises me as a Belgian living in Belgium, besides the real estate prices, is your additional costs like property taxes which are EXTREMELY high compared to Europe and also your monthly fees for your condominium/HOA which are easily 15 to 30 times higher than what we pay monthly here in Belgium and on top of that, you pay for your medications and healthcare 100 times more than what we pay and that's with health insurance 😂 So yes we have 38% taxes on our salaries but in the end...
Great video! My favorite, and I can't believe I'm saying this as a Brooklyn girl, is the Staten Island house. With some updating, it's a house that my family can grow in and I can see my mother moving in with us too and she have space too. Manhattan - nice but I don't like high floors and I prefer the west side. Queens - I'd rather pay $1.5 for a single family home in Bayside, Douglaston, Jamaica Estates, etc. Brooklyn - that one is by where I live now. Good street, agree about the sick vent, but otherwise it's ugly 😔 Bx - ok, but the smallest bedrooms ever. For $1.5, I'd head due north to Westchester or west to Riverdale or Fieldston
My baby’s mother lives right near the Brooklyn apartment in Bed - Stuy and the area is horrific. For 1.5 million you can definitely get into a better neighborhood.
@DWilliam1 I remember Bed Stuy and East New York as being rough areas since the 1980s. I guess despite the over developments from real estate companies (looking at you, Corcoran) the area has not gentrified according to plan. Bed Stuy does have some really great pre-war brownstones, but the area may not be so nice and the walk to the subway stop (and the subway line) can have problems.
The area is great - the avenue is beautiful. There’s a subway entrance on Bedford. Every subway stop/line has the same problems right now really - I could swear NYC is cloning that one nodding guy holding the doors open. I bought the apartment in question😅
@ Well, my son’s mother is from the area for years. She lives in a new building with an electronic doorman, rooftop, garage, party room with pool table and gym and a 1 bd apartment rents for almost $3K. She’s off of Albany Ave and Fulton. They shot 7 people killing 1 during a sweet 16 party a few years back. Down the block on the way to the C train there was a killing at the McDonalds over “cold fries”. I’m a born and bred NY’er for almost 60 years and lived in both the South Bronx and Harlem(as well as the Village and Murray Hill) and I know a marginal neighborhood when I see it. It’s still dangerous, somewhat dirty and doesn’t have anywhere near the amenities of other areas in the city for that price. Good luck with your new purchase.
The house is Staten Island needs lots of updating but it is livable and the updating can be done later. I am not familiar with the Bronx. The apartment in Queens was nice, but you can get a house in Queens for $1.5. The apartment in Brooklyn was awesome, but I love the City....the convenience...can't top that, plus the view from that apartment was excellent!
@justinmartinez the staten island one is hilarious. and, lol i could by your voice you kno what i'm talking about.. it look like you couldn't wait to get out of there lol.... i'm queens
I thought it was overpriced, and the sellers were following us while we were filming. A nice couple, but I didn't want to disrespect their home either.
Closing costs are just silly as well as the condo/HOA monthly costs, and property taxes. In UK you just pay a fee as the seller to the agent, council tax and condo fees are much lower.
You should do $2M and let people see they can buy an entire building in Astoria. $1.5M for a reno'd condo isn't the vibe for many folks looking for real homes in the city.
You got it. The condo is brand new construction and 2 mill doesn’t get you a brand new building in Astoria anymore. But I’ll do in the future and send to you
The banks look for 40 to 50% of DTI. So if the monthly payment on the property is $4000 the bank would want t see a monthly income of around $9500 to $10,000. I'll add that in my next video
@@justinmartineznyc, I use to do a lot of business around Hanover Square... I knew you looked familiar 😊. Glad to see you're doing well. Best of luck to you 👍
This is for the unlimited funds rich people because 1.5 million can get you a whole community built in Africa with your own waterpark and zoo with exotic animals...i think folks in NYC are giving up but good luck on your success with getting buyers who can afford it without even thinking twice
I can help you the find right property for your needs whether somewhere to live or as an investment. 1-3 million dollar range is my suite spot. Reach out to me if you want some off market opportunities
@ Olympic peninsula, WA, because I love nature. Or maybe Seoul, if I want to live in a bustling city that is safe, has excellent cheap clean public transportation, and is filled with respectful people. Everything NYC is not.

the Staten Island house was kind of my worst nightmare

Thanks brother! I appreciate the support!
Totally love your price break down. Good move it sets you apart
Thank you for the feedback!!! And thanks for watching!
I’d love the Manhattan one if I could afford it. It is gorgeous and what fabulous amenities.

Keep up the good work!

I'm from the area. Born and raised. It's a good location on the border of Clinton hill and bed stuy

Solid vid
Thanks 🙏
I’d take the queens one for sure
Agreed! It's the best value out of them all. Thanks for watching!
Love ❤️ the first place.
He is a very nice Borker! I like the condo as well. That view was so beautiful!!! The United Nations Building is right in that gorgeous view!!!😊
I like the staten island one, its nice and has more potential
Good channel man i can tell you make good money because youre doing it right
Thanks for watching and the support!
Brookyln had the wow factor but dont really like the kitchen
Everything in that staten island house have to be updated. You'll need a big chunk of change to update that house on top of the steep price tag.
The second apartment is good value for money 🔥🔥

As long as rates remain where they are, it makes more sense to rent and invest your savings in the S&P 500 index
Your prices are so great. Here I. Zürich you won’t be able to afford apartments like you are showing. Those apartments go for 3 million easy
Manhattan for sure

probably the same building

Never do ARM and never work with anyone who offers it.
Alot people do ARMs and can be a good product depending on the market and goals
What would the yearly income need to be to be approved for a $1.5 million property.?

Why didn't the owners of the Bronx place fix up the grounds? Why would someone want to pay for something looking like that?
The owner would do that before closing for the buyer
The house in Staten Island is way overpriced. Hasn’t been updated since the 1980s…. More like 1.5 million. Updated would be closer to 1.8 million.

Property taxes on a condo…NYC is a disgrace
Condos have property taxes everywhere because every property has taxes. They’re a component of common charges.
Let’s be honest. It’s not worth living in NYC.
Why not? Where would you live?
@ Olympic peninsula, WA, because I love nature. Or maybe Seoul, if I want to live in a bustling city that is safe, has excellent cheap clean public transportation, and is filled with respectful people. Everything NYC is not.
