I really liked how they put multiple episodes together to tell the entire story of the Electras
I was very fortunate to have been in the class rooms here at Atlantic Flight Training when the Electras and the DC 6'S were flying, often we had to stop, mid lecture, to wait for the engine run ups to complete, it felt like going back in time to all of those flying adventures I had read. Thank you for posting and sharing..
You are very privileged to have worked with Atlantic Airlines when they were at their peak! Thanks for sharing.
@@aviationlba747 thank you, I was very fortunate. I must say I was only there as a student in their flight training section toward a CPL/ ATPL but as long as you had the right attitude they treated you as one of the group.
Was instructor at AFT when in the old terminal building. They flew that DC-6 low over the building low level and it shook.
Touching fly past goodbye , the sweat and tears that the planes have on some of us . Great video
I live in Ontario in these shitty conditions, I'm watching this and looking at four feet of snow and ice outside my front door-haven't been able to leave in days. I didn't even realize we even had a distinct accent and people still say "eh" until I watched this show. Thank you for this, now I just have to find all the rest of these!
Ontario? AND we have Doug Ford, Bonnie Crombie and Justin Trudeau as well.
Ukraine seems lucky, compared to us.
It is good to see those old birds flying.
This is favourite episode , thanks for showing it again :-)
I miss this show. Really enjoyed it. Wish it would come back
Sorry it's not coming back :(
It is on prime video
Amen. I also love the show Ice Road Truckers.
check out the channel wonder they been making more videos

They have a lot of new videos on Mikey McBryan’s RUclips channel!!
I love to see these old birds repurposed for something useful. I wish this series had gone on. When I worked at Federal Mogul I sent a lot of parts to YellowKnife where these guys are based. No doubt some of those parts were delivered by Buffalo air. Take care my Canadian friends!
I saw the part of ‘Joes’ initial visit to Coventry but it’s lovely to see this full show. I’m actually welling up in tears as my Dad used to work at Coventry Airport for Reed Aviation as a freight supervisor. He loved his job so much that he drove nightly from Nottinghamshire. Occasionally when his car was in the garage, either my husband or I would take him all the way to Coventry, the worst night ever was back in 1995 when Coventry Airport was very often in the news as a roguish company there were taking live Veal Calves from Coventry to Amsterdam and protestors were lined up trying to stop the trucks of day old calves from entering the airport. We got there not long after animal lover, Jill Phipps had been crushed to death under the wheels of the truck. The mood was very sombre and it was terrible. Being an animal lover myself, I felt so much for Jill and her family. My dad knew the ladies there as he would pip his horn and give them a supportive cheery wave as he went into work each evening. Very sad times! Live exports of veal calves were stopped though due to pressure from animal lovers. Sadly my Dad died in 2010, he would have loved to have seen this and to reminisce, even though in his later years he passed his hgv1 and went trucking, he still loved the airports. He had started out with Air Bridge freight at East Midlands airport and as contracts changed and companies altered, he moved to Birmingham airport and finally to Coventry. I love Joe and Mikey at Buffalo. I’m sure my Dad would’ve loved watching them with their piston pounders before they bought the Lockheed’s from Atlantic Airlines (now West Atlantic UK)
Great to watch this in light of Mikey & co's recent rebuild of that DC3 - Mikey McBryan is ON THE BALL. Luv yaaaa
Yeah $$$
Back in 1982 i use to work electras in miami and they are great tough planes but to work in the fuel tanks its a nightmare. Brings back many good memories of cam air miami fla. 1982.
Bad hangover for Mikey the next morning! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This show was very entertaining. All the drama and flying by the seat of your pants due to people and thier passion. I ADMIRE JO. He won my respect after all the things that made him a true hard ass. Everyone at Buffalo are good ole top quality boys n girls. Cheers to all of you and what you have done. Never give up even though you may need to evolve things. Your integrity is priceless. Your all family
zappanco joey I personally know joe
Me to
@@mine098able how?
Martin Mcbryan I live around Red Deer area and my dad is friends with him and some of the guys at Buffalo
47:21 very sentimental! It also brought tears to my eyes.
Mikey’s like the Mikey from American Choppers, both have old souls and that’s a positive
I wish they made an episode about modifying and ferrying the plane
The most memorable departure of an Electra was when my brother with his unit was being flown from Melbourne to Queensland, to join the next detachment to Vietnam. 20 year olds, in Aussie jungle greens walked out across the tarmac and climbed the steps to board the plane.
It was a night flight. The Electra looked bright and shiny under the black sky. My parents were very upset.
It was a spectacular, but sombre event.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. My father used to love flying the Electra on business trips many years ago. But he's gone now. He would have really enjoyed this video.
New history....reborn into an attack role against fires!
I should have watched all before commenting. Mikey done good job smoshing the sellers.
Best case scenario It fires up. Worst case scenario, it starts on fire, hahaha.
@@aviationlba747 ok
I flew on that plane back in 1998 when it was in Alaska it was reven air lines flew 3-4 times back and forth to sand point Alaska, cool plane could fly threw any weather, glad to see them bring the old girl back to life, how hell did end up,in Great Britain
Historic moment very much appreciated! Thanks. Keep on keeping on!!!
David Evans ג
That was awesome how hard that dude went down on the balance beam 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Watching in 2021. Worked in Atlantic ops early 2000s. Privileged to have flown on many of the L188 fleet at the time... captain Jake Lockie ,(Flew both a/c back in this episode) legend and a True gent.
Very nice documentary fully enjoyed it. Great people with greater visionary thoughts.
Good.............
Fantastic intro song. LOVE LENNY KRAVITZ!!!! I watched the preview, that's enough for me.
Good Job Mikey, but remember... you need at least 24 hours between the the "Bottle and the Throttle"
Only as the pilot ;)
Ame...keo...ka...na....bola ...cola...jabo....bed as.....ame...pailot
22:48 - I'm willing to bet when that came on the screen there were some young people saying "what the hell is that". Yes, we used to look at actual globes to see where other countries are and colour maps of different continents...I just love this show, even if it does make me feel a bit old.
Absolutely every young person knew what was you old boomer.
Lovely ending and the last Electra in the UK gone forever.
Ame..ja..

Joe McByan could quite possibly be the coolest man alive. No joke..no exaggeration. The dude is a cool cat.
Were the cool McBryans 😎
i love his attitude for buying parts............Fuck it i'll take it all
I completely understand the lack of an old plane. It used to fly and maintain the ex Eastern Airlines construction Number 1056 owned and operated by the Federal Electricity Commission of Mexico. It was a great experience to work and fly this giant freighter that served to load many things necessary for the construction of the "Laguna Verde" nuclear power generator in the state of Veracruz in the 80's, among other cargo flights throughout the United States and Latin America. Many years have passed since then, and many memories come from these Ice Pilots episodes that recreate, almost the same type of operation back then at the Federal Commission.
Great aircraft seen them at Coventry over the years even eaten the dc 6 diner days going by never to be repeated..
my favorite episode, joe finally smiles
True and he don't smile much.
I remember those planes coming into jersey with our mail
Fabulous! I LOVE this family!
Thanks! I feel loved
Despite Mikey's jokes, he actually did some good foreign relations work for Buffalo Air.
That was coolest show ever.
Watched it twice in 2020, amazing story and a good documentary.
NWT is beautiful. I hope to return there one day.
You gotta respect a place that has a playground behind the bar for the kiddos. LOL
Ideal occupation for gifted detail oriented multi taskers..my Dad was a flyer..
Another great great show! Thank you!
Used to fly into Red Deer CYQF frequently, nice set up there.
Mikey. At the start was reminding me of Mikey from (OCC) Orange County Choppers, and most of us remember what his skills were ?????????????????????????
But as i watched this video through to the end he turned out to be not to bad after all.
He is still young and it seems his dad has not really given him any responsibilities as yet so he is just filling in the day at the moment.
But i am sure once his dad steps aside somewhat Mikey can finally start be more involved.
It is a bit hard to take things serious when his own did does not let him get involved.
Very Good video, Very happy i found it.
Regards Peter.
remember seeing this aircraft many times at Liverpool airport
Excellent show and episode !
Excellent show and episode !
Ok

A Natural goofball and awesome persona ...Mikey will blend in anywhere in the world

Such an amazing looking aircraft
I love the Electra!
One of the best planes ever. :)
I agree. And they are still in service!
*You muppet, they were the biggest heap of shit ever made*
Crazy Clown
In which case one wonders why you are even here?🤔
I used to load this plane Cold Bay Alaska!!!
Great video , wish Ice Pilots was back on tv kudos to Buffalo Joe et al.
Oof
A great show, miss it watch reruns still
Nice and enjoyable
Mikey, you are such a cool, funny and layed back guy with a great sense of humor. Your dad is jus as cool as you, I wouldn't mind flying for you guys I think it'll be a great experience. I also love the Electras, they are solid airplanes. England's loss, Canada's Gain. Go buffalo air Go,👍👍👍
These pilots are serious about keeping their
neighbors 'healthy & fed'..🥚🥫🥓🍞🧈🧀🥘🥛🧅🧄🌶🥦🥔🥕🍅🍺
And don't you know... Lenny Kravitz is just as serious a Musician!🎼🎶
Just watching, even I shed a tear😭
Man I hate that feeling of being up against a deadline and you're working on a problem that needs to be done slowly and carefully.
Mikey is the best beer drinker that I have ever seen and a beer drinking content
I loaded Atlantic Airlines planes many times back in the 90s GLOFA and GLOFB, GLOFC
What a great show, sorry to see it is not back on TV....(or at least where I live)
the last season just started sorry to see it go
Love the airplanes and operational challenges but hate the manufactured drama and conflict of these kinds of shows. "Will Mikey the Slacker get his shit together in time to save the day and win Dad's respect??!" OMG, I'm on the edge of my seat!
cool life & cool Job
Mikey's goal in life when he grows up is to be a rivet in the fuselage.
lol yeah not wrong there.
id hate to fly that thing home after being grounded 8 years
That’s why, after being in storage for some time, aircraft go through lengthy and thorough inspections before flying again.
At least his Mom and Dad Love him
Sure hope Mikey isn’t on planning on becoming a pilot.
I think that Reeve Electra sat on the tarmac at Anchorage Airport for 10 years. Surprised to see it in Coventry!
Mickey needs to be left home from now on.
Why!?
Lay off Mikey. He is a straightforward guy who would not harm a soul. Miss Ice Pilots and all the characters.
David Dalgetty Why the hell does alone dump on Mikey? He's a good kid provides a little comedy relief, helps his dad, it's all good. Joe join the crowd, I'm not a fan of the Electra either my feeling is largely based on passenger use. The love of aviation and at times intense competition between Britain, Canada and the US will always be a cool deal. When the last 747-400 hits Mojave or conversion into a freighter, that will be emotional for me. Likely the safest aircraft ever considering the numbers manufactured and the incredible hours and miles flown.
I agree with you and he really transformed in the last few seasons. I knew this was going to be yet another reality show with an interesting business/industry and of course a bit of drama thrown in. The pecking order was quite interesting from being a rampie to a pilot. Audrey used her gender to get some kudos from Joe and then acted mystified when he didn't cry a river when she bailed. She didn't even bother to thank him for his training and time. She might have received a better farewell if she hadn't been so rude and entitled.
That's right - he plays dumb but he's no Chum Lee.
Could not agree with you more buddy. Mikey seems like he would be a great laugh would love to go for a few beers with him if i ever made it over to Red Deer
Check out Mikey's latest D Day Gooney bird destined to fly again!

I love Joe's pompadour hair style, wish I could have one.
Thank you
to involve us in your daily work in aeronautics. super sacred device.
thank you very much
Mikey is one of a kind
On the buses with buffalo Joe
MIKEY-MIKEY-ALPHA CLEAR LAND GO
Haha nice
14: 31 - 14:41 Bloke: Mikey, is this a drink off?
Mikey: No, no, my father will kill me, he legitimately will kill me....he showed me the knife...
Possibly true
"...DON'T pull it ! "..yeah, DON'T fly with Mikey in any capacity...!!
I guess we have a bunch of airline managers in the comment section.
There was a cargo plane that used to fly over the house I was living in in Alaska and I wasnt sure what it was. After watching this, I am fairly sure it was an electra.
Joe's a alegend. If I could be able to spot a nicihe and master it like hm....wow
Joe looks like bootstrap bill turner
I forgot how Mikey sounds like a drunk Kermit the frog.
I was just thinking that he sounded like Kermit the frog. lol
?!
what is the closing (Music) song's name??
I hope these are later versions 'cause I read of the Tell City Indiana crash
granskare YES these are called the Mark 2, the one you are speaking of was the 1st generation. I came to the US in last day of JULY 1959, they were ALL GROUNDED, came from MIA to Ny by an old CONNIE NAL( national airlines, ) as a result I NEVER got a ride on one
ah, I do not pay that much attn these days, thanks
The old man sure must have some wonga
I miss your show, from Puerto Rico, we said hi, Mickey, when you go to make other show??
Check out his youtube channel; Mikey Mcbryan.
Was this the same accident Reeve Aleutian Airways Flight 8 plane? it lost a prop which punctured the cabin causing decompression and loss of flight controls
Yup. That Electra is still active as a firefighter, too.
What is the story on changing the Reeve Electra from Reeve Aleutian to Reeve Illusion?
I was wondering that.
Luv to fly since childhood though it's costly
Yeah for Mikey.....
I want to visit the artic some days, then I mean greenland, svalbard and northern canada and northern alaska.
You'll be very welcome in Canada.
145 kilometers, or, about 15 miles!
YOUE TALKING CRAP 145 KM IS 90.099 MILES DICK HEAD
So ... what if the props expire whilst you are in the air?
You crash after 15 minutes of expiration.
Mikey didn’t use the bloody tabs you push on the end of the red inflation tubes
