Skylar's reaction to will saying he does not love her is phenomenal, you can almost feel the incapacitating ache in her stomach from something as emotionnaly brutal as a breakup. Fantastic acting.
Minnie Driver's acting in this scene is absolutely a masterclass. You can watch her heart break even more when he says he had cigarettes put on out on him. Look at her face when he says that. Just a raw, brilliant performance.
Matt Damon and Minnie Driver are absolutely phenomenal here. Award winning performances.
Will’s also panicking probably because he’s never heard the words “ I love you “ before he doesn’t even know what it means. And it would be scary for anyone if they’ve never experienced those words before and it came out of nowhere. And it’s an awkward situation because your expected to say it back
Trying to love a person who doesn't love themself is sssoooo hard. Just let it go. It's not worth it if they don't want to get help
Understand that he's not just scared, but terrified. His problems aren't the typical kind that can be easily fixed with a quick solution. Instead, they are deep-rooted issues that have been festering for years, and he doesn't know how to deal with them. It took an act of God for him to even begin to address these problems, and that act was meeting Sean.
Please don't misunderstand his situation. It's not that he doesn't want help, but rather, he doesn't know how to ask for it or where to find it. He feels alone and lost, and the thought of opening up to someone about his problems is overwhelming.
So when he met Sean, it was like a light at the end of the tunnel. Sean listened to him and provided a safe space for him to share his thoughts and feelings without judgment. For the first time in a long time, he felt heard and understood.
Therefore, have a little empathy for him. Nothing is ever one-sided, and while he did hurt her terribly, his actions were not malicious or intentional. They were simply a knee-jerk reaction stemming from all the pain, abuse, and abandonment he experienced during his most vulnerable years.
@@baticadavinci3984 You can have compassion for a person, and at the same time, recognize that loving them would be a dear and costly mistake.
I agree. If they don’t love themselves, they can’t love you. You’ll regret trying to keep holding on. There are other men out here who want love and are receptive and it and will love you back.
The thing about Will is that he is not dumb and he’s been let down enough times to know that everything she says about loving him etc only matters in that moment she said it and those feelings can change at any moment. everything he said was pretty spot on. Ofc I hope they reconcile but if it was reality and based on my own personal experience I guarantee it would have gone down exactly how he predicted.
It's hard to love yourself. You don't know what people have gone through and the weight they hold.
1:40 You're standing there, your hand in my hair
Matt Damon narrated Spirit's thoughts in Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron and Minnie Driver voiced Jane Porter in Tarzan.
R.I.P Robin Williams
This is Freudian defence mechanisms at it's finest; reaction formation.
Meanwhile the Uber eats guy is outside the door. 🤔🥺

Bad Will Hunting
Will had the right to get upset
I don’t care for Minnie Driver
Well a lot more people care about her than you
She insists upon herself
And she probably doesn't care about you either.
He ain't even jacked
Was he supposed to be?
Did he need to be?
actors like him can easily morph their body for a role. fit/fat :/ but that may be an apple too hard for you to digest.
He didn't need to be jacked. Cause my boi is Wicked Smart! 😏
You sound like he fkked your wife. Lol
Minnie Driver reacting to the cigarette burns is burned into my memory from watching it in theaters.
Please never tell a women you love her unless it’s real. I made this mistake and really really regret the emotional toll it took on a women I really liked. It wasn’t right of me to do that
1:34 Matt Damon’s yelling 😮😬😳
I keep playing it over cause the acting is so good!!
@@annajamjam1383 it’s not acting if that’s how you really are lol
Damn it really does hurt to break a women’s heart, and know you maybe could have done something different. and I know most people won’t believe it but guys who really care feel that same emotion of a broken heart if they cared about the women.
Wow! I've seen this many times but it just gets more potent. They'd probably condemn this, for near domestic abuse Gen-Normal but this is an expression of what parents expect to happen to their children, at some point in their lives, if not immediately because it is so real. And it was written by Damon & Affleck which is astonishing for such young actors. It actually gets better or worse depending on your own experience!
THE ACTINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Best movie of 1997
Hands down
