Based on your videos, I picked up a vette today. 2004 commemorative edition z06. 55k miles, 1 owner, never tracked. no videos up yet but I might do some when the weather improves! keep up the good content
Its a cool Car, without any doubt. But from my todays Knowleadge i would not buy a 2004 C5. It could become pretty tricky, if you are search for spare Parts. Because a lot Parts in the 04, are 04 only. Means, you can not search for C5 Parts, you have to search for the special 04 Parts.
2004 machine silver is an uncommon color in the entire c5 z06 run. Most were quicksilver. Suggestion for a future video - how about a discussion of z06 tire options? Lots of us are looking for options beyond the Goodyear F1 tires.
They have their quirks but I wouldn't shy away if the price is right. The fuel system is different. They do have a few more electrical gremlins and the ebcm is non serviceable.
Thanks Mark! Another great informative video. Yeah, I was really surprised my 2001 had plastic sway bar end links. These were my first replacement upgrade as a new owner.
Very cool history info brother..I think some of the different interior color combos we're cool as well. I own a C5 2004 triple black convertible corvette w 28K miles 👍
Good video....1 suggestion i could make would be invest in a wireless microphone they are under $50 saves you from talking loud and me from cranking my volume to hear and they always make videos seem better.
I agree. My go pro external mic adapter crapped itself. So debating on upgrading to a new phone (good for vlogging with a external mic) or just getting a new adapter. But either way it will be rectified soon. 👍👍
great info. A later C5 (2001 and up) is on my short list for my next vette. I'm leaning towards a manual verses an auto. Maybe another Z06. I had an 02Z some years ago with a can tune and that thing would rip. One of my favorite corvette's I've owned.
@@VetOnVettes you both are sort of correct. The 04-C5-CE-Z06, wasn't the first to use carbon fiber, BUT it was the first vehicle built in North American to use PAINTED carbon fiber, as opposed to exposed carbon fiber. The only other vehicle in 2004 to do so was the Ferrari Enzo. Check out Zipitys Garage to see how might know this info!! Its a great car!

@@kallo182 the headlight gears were 1 thing, but the rest I've found were c5 compatible.

I am a big fan of the z06 17-18 but its getting hard to find great tires
Pilot Sport 4S has some good sizes for us!
What, no mention of the magnesium wheels?
If I'm not mistaken, magnetic ride became available in '03 as well.
How do you feel about 97s, is it worth getting or is it better to aim for the newer years with the same mileage

My o4 has got C5 wheels on it

i need a torque tube rebuild and a new clutch. sounds like i should replace with 2001 parts.
Dang...that is wicked info...inspired to go "mod-wild" now on my 03' C5 that barely was touched that year.
Which years had the windshield radio antenna . I have an 02 and there is no outside antenna.
i have a 98 and there is no outside antenna
This was a Option.

Subscribing just for you being a TOOL fan.
Dude you have all this info memorized !? 😳 or you reading from a chart etc.
Haha 🤣. No! I have notes off to the side i cheat off of.
@@VetOnVettes I was going to say that would be RAINMAN type of behavior! Lololololol

All those changes, and STILL a useless cup holder....dang it.
I own the 24 hr of Le Mans edition. It’s pretty sweet. I believe it was the first American production car to use carbon fiber.
I think you may be correct. 🤔
