Hot take: We hadn’t had a threatening villain in the MonsterVerse since King Ghidorah (This is not hate to Skar King but he had more potential to be the perfect arch nemesis for Kong. But not so much for Godzilla)
Interesting take! To me, the other villain THAT I FOUND intimidating was Mechagodzilla. The red colors and sounds of him really make him pop! Ghidorah is still awesome though!
I don’t think so but I can see what you mean. Gxk had a great way of showing skar kings personality and his cruel nature. Making him more intimidating. I personally was at the edge of my seat when they introduced him as well. But he started to not become that intimidating when they were beating him up at the end of the movie.
GxK did Godzilla dirty, in my opinion. Not only did they give him very little screen time, but I feel like making this character THIS skinny is disrespectful to what MV Godzilla was always meant to represent. He wasnt supposed to be doing superhero moves, or running like Captain America, or jumping off mountains, and certainly wasnt supposed to be suplexing other Titans. Yes, I know that is Godzilla's history, with some of the Showa movies being incredibly corny and over the top, but the Monsterverse was supposed to be a more realistic take on the character...something I feel like got lost with GvK, and especially GxK. We agree with eachother: Evolved Godzilla just...doesnt feel imposing. He's not threatnening. He's glowing hot pink the whole time, the edgy spikes on the elbows and tail that makes him look like a Deviantart OC, and that torso is absolutely horrendous. I'd be fine with the pink, I would VERY MUCH PREFER if he was blue, or purple if they were really trying to use 2000 as the scapegoat, but i'd forgive them if they at least bulked him back up.
He would've been WAAAY better if they did the opposite, Keep the pink but bulk him up and make his spines similar to a porcupine, So it actually made sense to evolve in order to fight shimo who's equally bulky.
The reason he looks like that is because he wasn’t done and you’re talking like it can’t change over time 2014 was 10 years ago if the MV wants to take a different approach that’s great and personally I like the slim design pink is a great color and just worked with all the extra spikes and if you’ve seen the concept of it the blue doesn’t look better at all also the pink makes sense because the most powerful radiation is pink so from a realism perspective it’s still better
Godzilla 2014 was a perfect interpretation of what the original 1954 movie was trying to be: It is more of a disaster movie revolving around the crisis Godzilla is stirring up rather than big monster fights all the way through. They took a spin in the original and kept it mostly faithful while American-izing enough to be its own thing. Change my mind.
kotm somewhat kept this (though it was a lot more focused on the kaiju battles) by showing ghidorah as a threat to humanity and the end of the world, bringing about disasters all over. Even though ghidorah doesn't feed on radiation, nuclear power still has a chance at causing disasters in numerous countries somewhat like ghidorah did

Side note, and unpopular opinion warning, GxK is the weakest of all legendary Godzilla movies. Take this with a grain of salt, and hear me out. My own take. Heisei Godzilla shouldve kept the 84/Biollante roar throughout, just because it sounds way more commanding and powerful. Later roars sound too "friendly", like the Showa era, while the animalistic vibe of the roars made him stand out from the Showa incarnation
Hot take: modern legendary Godzilla is one of the best designs. I really like the viabrent blues and pinks (yes the pink one is really cool in my opinion) and the squarish head can look better mire often. His heat ray is also way better than the 2014 dark blue smoke.
No, I don’t think so I think it’s a great design. Though pink is not my favorite color, it does make sense on the electromagnetic spectrum I kind of wish people acknowledge that a little more, but it is what it is. I think it leaves a lot of room to see what Godzilla could possibly change into within the future as long as they don’t straight too far from his design. I like what they did with the design leaning into the stegosaurus aspect with the tail having the thagomizer and I like the longer arms I’m looking forward to seeing what this new form can do

Evolved is DEFINETLY not the worst to me, but absolutely not good in any way either, the spines are strangelly fleshy, and that God forsaken waist and proportions make it fell cartoonish, which is something we don't want in a live action, realistic CGI, i feel the same for every other Monster in this Movie the best Design tho, gotta be KiryuSaga and FinalGoji
If I may say something about Evolved Godzilla's design, my personal biggest gripe is that I think he's too skinny. His stomach seems to concave under his chest or something. Aside from that, I like most of the design.

I think it’s actually pretty easy to differentiate the Heisei suits. I agree with preferring the 89-91 suits over the rest because the eyes alone give him a more animalistic look thus adding to his creepyness factor. The eyes in the 92-94 suits just seem too human, but in a cartoonish kind of way. We can all agree that 95 is peak tho
No. Some of the designs from the older 1960s movies were more ugly. In Godzilla X Kong design... the proportions on him are just terrible. His midsection looks like all of his intestines were scooped out of his body, and it makes him look weird because of it. The CGI in Godzilla X Kong also looks cheap and unfinished.

I think Godzilla Final wars has the best incarnation of Godzilla because he feels like a god among all the other monsters plus the fact that he survived the oxygen destroyer and was never defeated by humanity and lives up to the name King Of The Monsters.
Evolved should have a bulkier design and he should have had a more bulky chest and waist larger and longer arms and and should have had a mixture of its 2014 and 2019 dorsal plates

Hot take: Kiryugoji is the best design. The cat like face feels very animalistic, and the neck has so many nice ridges and bumps. The dorsal plates might not be everybody's cup of tea, but they really fit the more edgy designs of millennium Godzilla. Also kiryu is the best Mecha Godzilla design to date.

As a younger fan who hasn't seen every godzilla movie, I don't really care about the specifics of godzilla's design (my first godzilla movie, being 2014). i think that people should have their own creative libraries with the design so long as it works in the world but also as a godzilla. Zilla, although not necessarily a proper design, still works as its own thing, and with details like dorsal plates, i don't mind them having a different shape from time to time so long as it still fit the design. Personally, i don't understand the hate that gxk goji gets. Like, yeah, i get it. It's a way different look, but i still think it's a sweet look and matches what the movie was going for. As for how i would imagine my own godzilla, probably something like Kiriu goji mixed with the monsterverse and minos. Maybe with the white eyes from gmk.
89-91 is definitely different from 92-94. The 89-81 has a taller head and spike scale thingies while the 92-94 has a much flatter top of the head, also bigger eyes with crazy colors. Theres more minor differences in just proportions and stuff but thats the largest to me. Personally I think the 89-91 are the best. Some shots in the 91 movie just look so so so amazing and the suit is so detailed, really looks the best when its a head shot, like at the end of the movie when the guy in the building is talking to godzilla. That movie also has 2 suits in it. The one in the first battle with king ghidorah i think has a wierdly large chest. 89 is also amazing, it has a little bit of a thinner neck, i think i like the thicker neck of the 91 sometimes but really i flip flop between them so i say theyre tied for my favorite godzilla design. ALSO!!! I absolutely adore the 2014 design and his dorsal plates and his elephant feet. Gareth edwards and his team did an absolutely mindblowing job on their movie and it does NOT get enough love. I will die on this hill. Yes the 2019 design looks great too, but i prefer the 2014 because its more cohesive. The team for the 2014 movie designed godzilla from the ground up and made everything perfectly proportioned and realistic looking. Like i could imagine these proportions on a real animal if something like that (obviously smaller) were to evolve. The bigger spines and toes on the later legendary godzillas look kinda just slapped on, but just a bit and its not horrible. I just think 2014 gets hated on too much. Anyways i have millions of very strong godzilla opinions lol so i may write more later but its very late rn and yeah
I don't think "Godzilla Evolved" is the worst design Godzilla has ever had in its history, but it is the worst so far in the 21st century. Before, my opinion was that that title belonged to FinalGoji, but after Evolved (and probably the Godzilla Fest shorts), I took some respect for it.
Frankly, I never really thought Evolved Godzilla was a "bad" design. I like it conceptually, and the pink and added spike details I can live with or even like. It's just that the one single thing about it that makes it off to me is the shrunken torso, it makes him look kind of emaciated and I don't like it. I don't care if there's a story/biological reason behind it (taking in all the nuclear energy in his body into his energy output or evolving himself to look like Shimo or whatever), it's the one aspect of the design that's never grown on me ever since the leaks of the early toys. Granted it does look better on film than on the toys, but I still don't like it. Again, it's not bad by any means, I just vastly prefer my Godzillas to have that tasteful CHONK
Godzilla Vs Megladon Designed in my opinion the most adorable looking Godzilla we had in terms of movie's, the eyes and movements he did in the movie, so adorable
Extremely hot take: I personally think Godzilla X Megaguirus is the best Godzilla movie. It feels like a millennium version of one of the good showa movies, and megaguirus’ design, abilities and color palette are incredible. My one nitpick is the flying effect for megaguirus is terrible, it’s way too stiff. Godzilla’s behavior and movements in this movie make him feel animalistic and intelligent at the same time, which is basically what Godzilla is, which has not been presented in most movies, and the way he reels back when he’s about to fire his atomic breath (same as with 2000) is spectacular, and makes it feel like the atomic breath is truly destructive and powerful. The design is amazing too, 1999 and 2000’s proportions and colors are the best ones.
I love evolved godzilla because he feels so powerful and I love the way that he moves it's like he's more reckless, I hope in the future we can get a monsterverse design with white dorsal fins so other godzillas

Pink Godzilla just feels disappointing because like for me he barley did anything in his new form. He used his atomic breath maybe twice. I think he hit Shimo once with it and it just felt so brief. He could of at least killed another monster in this new form to showcase how much stronger he had gotten.
My only problem is the curvature of his dorsal plates but it's probably one of the best designs. It's a nice call back to 2000 and the showa Godzilla from Zone Fighter. He used a purple-ish breath in one of the episodes.

To be honest back, then I hate it the evolved Godzilla design because he looked emaciated, plus the proportions in the colors really didn’t work, but the more that was revealed about it the better it actually looked. The only real criticism I have now is that Tia died for a form that could’ve had a lot more given to it, but no, just extra spike.

I feel the whole thing about saying names and what year like "1993 Godzilla" just confuses things. Heisei (Hey-Say) Godzilla makes more sense, or millennium Godzilla (2000). See how it makes more sense to just give them a specific name based on which one they are?

My underrated Godzilla film is Godzilla VS Megagurius. Godzilla battling out with a giant space bug is so classic godzilla core. And the bugs being a callback to an older toho movie is cool as well. The reuse of the 2000 suit does make it confusing for newer fans, (like myself when i first watched it thinking it was a sequel to Godzilla 2000) I think having it as a sort of legacy sequal to the original 1954 film is q cool aspect. Whoever doesnt enjoy this movie but enjoys the shows era needs their eyes checked. This is such a modern showa film. Weird human subplot with a blackhole and a hacker man/programmer, giant spave bugs, and Godzilla doing a stupidly goofy jump at the end fight. Love it.

I've seen so much worse than Evolved Godzilla in terms of design. The problem with evolved Godzilla wasn't the design it's the fact you can take it out of the movie and hardly anything would change.
While it is growing on me, I still prefer chunky Monsterverse Godzilla, also Pink was a weird choice design for his atomic breath, maybe sticking with blue or it being red would be cooler.
For me this design was ruined by the weird marketing for the movie. Like, they picked the single worst shot of evolved Godzilla for the first trailer's thumbnail, and it looked like he had extremely huge hulking arms and a huge head and super skinny legs. Its proportions looked so wack that it legit looked like a guy in one of those inflatable Godzilla suits. And it also doesn't help they released that electronic toy of Godzilla which actually does have extremely huge arms. Overall I just misinterpreted the design and got all the wrong angles and I thought his bones literally grew and he had arms almost as big as kongs but after seeing the movie It's obvious he's just the same goji but slimmed down a lot. Proportions are really important to me so that was mostly what I was criticising the design for at first. Now that I've seen him in action and gotten over the pink I actually quite love the design.
The design still has bad proportions. The head is still too small, the arms are way too long and the sucked in tummy is absolutely terrible. The elbow and tail spikes are also stupid. 2014 design is still the best mv design. Its proportions are perfect, his dorsal plates, while not my favourite, make him look like a mountain whenever he emerges from the water. Every other design has terrible proportions and stupid changes. Kotm has a peanut head, the tail being blunt is stupid, the dorsal plates dwarf his head and his upper chest makes him look more humanoid
Hot take: Evolved Godzilla is the best Godzilla designs. The vibrant pink is extremely pretty and he has a supercharged beam variant with the classic blue around the pretty pink. His large arms are great at grappling with other titans, and lead to a variety of new fun poses. The elbow spikes can also be seen on minus one, and lead to fun ways for him to fight. The shrunken chest is easy to defend, I mean, from 2014 to 2021 people where complaining that he was too fat and bulky. Now with this new body type, he looks fast and agile, but also keeps his muscular physique. Also those eyebrow spikes are cool as heck. Finally, the spikes. The spikes are sharp and pointy and look even more dangerous than before. Also, comparing the G21 spikes to GojiEvo spikes, you can see that the spikes look fused and melted. His new spikes are because he absorbed so much energy, his spikes started melting inwards. Also when they're not glowing, I simply adore the dark pastel with deep reddish veins they went with. So yes, in my opinion, Evolved Godzilla is not only Godzilla, but the best Godzilla's ever made. Everything except the pink screams Godzilla. And the pink screams awesome design People who complain about this design and say he's the worst Godzilla, most likely, don't have a solid reason.

I'm not sure if this is a hot take but I feel like Singular Point should've been titled after Jet Jaguar instead of Godzilla himself since he gets so much little screentime that you forgot he even exists in the show. Also not a big fan of them to reuse the Shin Godzilla formula and worse is that all the forms look like they're based on monsters like Varan and Titanosaures and yet they wasted those designs by making them as forms of Godzilla. (Sorry for the long comment but I am just saying my full opinion)
I agree with you that Jet Jaguar is a more fitting title. I’ll eventually make an in depth video going over the many problems that I have with Singular Point but a big one is definitely a lack of Godzilla
My hot take. Godzilla 84 is a poor, boring godzilla movie and the Japanese version doesn't feel like a Japanese Godzilla movie, it feels like an American trying to make a Japanese Godzilla movie. Doesn't feel authentic like the rest of the Heisei.
I go out on a Kaiju Ledge and say I think Godzilla 98 might have been Accepted Better if it had been a Beast from 20'000 Fathoms Remake. Sure it would have had the GODZILLA name to it for Media Purposes but....just my op.
Ok, here is my take on the 1998 designs. It is not a good design for Godzilla, and it is actually pretty bad for Godzilla. But not because of the posture. It is bad because it is too tin, and lacks the bulk Godzilla should have. I actually dont have any problem with an horizontal, dinosaur like posture for Godzilla, as long as it is bulky and muscular enough, and keeping enough of the other traditional characteristics of the design.
My take: Hanna Barbera Godzilla is underrated, especially in terms of his design. I don't mind that he looks super simplistic and like a generic 70's retrosaur, and that copyright prevent him from using his trademark abilities. For a Hanna Barbera version of the character, it fits this Godzilla, especially since this was during a time when the West always saw Godzilla as a giant fire breathing dinosaur. And as someone who watched re-runs of those old HB cartoons on Boomerang, (The OG 2000's Boomerang not that Cartoonito shit) I like that.
Hot Take 1: I personally like Godzilla vs Biollante for a few reasons; I like the old goofy Godzilla movies. They're goofy and entertaining. But Godzilla vs Biollante was the first somewhat gritty "Godzilla vs..." movie, other than maybe Godzilla 1955. I also like that it gave Godzilla a sibling, or at least the first movie to do so. Hot Take 2: I like the old and goofy Godzilla movies because of how they give Goji so many superpowers. I also like how bloody it is. It makes me think of us telling stories when we were kids, trying to make it dark, brutal and scary.
I know people aren’t asking but here’s my take on it. I like it, but it could’ve been more. Allow me to explain. The Anatomy I wish they made him appear more muscular, what I mean are thicker shoulders, biceps, forearms, thighs, and calf’s, and maybe a tail. Evolved should’ve been super roided out. The Pink Color Scheme I do like it as it reminds me of Majin Buu. It has definitely grew on me a bit, but I wish that he was closer to Goku Black instead. Maybe instead of pure pink, we get some royal purple and maybe some hot pink. I just think it needs to be more intimidating because he is “FEARSOME GODZILAAAAA” after all. Dorsals And Spikes Really well done, I really like that edgy swagger he has. I bet you could tell by just looking at my account. Once again though, they did good, and I see no direct criticism to it accept maybe just the exaggeration of it, make his elbow spikes a tiny bit wider and it’ll be perfect. His dorsal plates are already great and I have no improvement for them. Summary Overall I like this design, he gets an 8/10 from me. He just needs to be more intimidating. This is just an opinion more than necessity although. TLDR Big pink lizard goood but need more STEROIDSSS!
No not at all, there are way worse designs than this. This is actually my favourite legendary godzilla design, although I wish that he was all grey/black and kept the blue atomic breath. Plus make his head as big as kongs if not bigger and you have the best monsterverse design by far.
How do you feel about the Ifukube music being present/absent in Godzilla movie? I feel like when it's not present, the movie is missing a vital part of Godzilla. I do recognize that there are a lot of Godzilla movies without it and still turned out to be really good I just can't shake the feeling they would be better with the Ifukube stuff in them. Hot take: Heisei Godzilla is the worst live action design next to 67, hes not only fat but nearly immovable. The Face just looks too cute or too stupid, not menacing at all. I dont necessarily like his spikes either just too round. Also Evolved Godzilla is currently in my top 3
Another Hot Take I have is that the Millenium era of Godzilla is the best since you don’t have to watch the previous movie to understand it besides the Kiryu saga. It gives this era a sense of identity in that it’s like an anthology series revolving around Godzilla and how he might act in one universe.

My hot take is this: I feel like the 2002-2003 Godzilla design is very beautiful but criminally underrated. The jagged white spines, the frill on his neck, his expressive face, his bulky but lean bodyshape. In my opinion that is a perfect Godzilla design, it has the imposing appearance and yet shows some mobility to fight. I wish we saw more of it.
My hot take. Shin actually became less interesting when he reached his final form in the film. He just became something that just walked around slowly. His previous forms actually captured the idea that it was scared and didn’t understand what was happening to it
Nah there was definitely a big change in suit design between 91 and 92 The 89-91 suits were made to look muscular and ferocious. But they slimmed him down in 92 and made him look a lot less ferocious with different head shapes and bigger eyes. And he just sorta kept this for the rest of the era.

6:05 Shin Godzilla was originally going to use a massive animatronic. The robot itself looked beautiful and could’ve 100% worked but they turned to just CGI in the end.
Hot take: if evolved goji wasn’t so slim it would most likely be my favorite monsterverse design. I absolutely LOVE the pink look for goji, I think it would totally work if they gave him his muscle back. I also think that removing the elbow spikes would make it better.

Hot take: evolved godzilla is the best design thats ever been made for a godzilla ever. All the spikes, his D1 linebacker build (makes sense because how much he tackles his enemies) and its fitting to show how much faster and more agile he's gotten even tho hes gotten bigger but slimmer around the waist, the elbow and tail spikes look really cool and fit his new more spikey appearance and are both good weapons in combat, the square head looks really sick, and the pink/magenta is alot better than the blue because it gives me Super Saiyan Rosè vibes which is one of my favorite transformations in dragon ball. Blue was amazing and all and really iconic for a godzilla but the pink is so new and unique.
I like godzooky. I think the concept of a flying godzilla is cool and I feel like the concept of a flying godzilla species or sub species pretty cool, I also just tend to like obscure unpopular characters in general though. Or maybe it's just the nostalgia talking...

I personally was at the edge of my seat when they introduced him as well. But he started to not become that intimidating when they were beating him up at the end of the movie.

GxK did Godzilla dirty, in my opinion. Not only did they give him very little screen time, but I feel like making this character THIS skinny is disrespectful to what MV Godzilla was always meant to represent.
He wasnt supposed to be doing superhero moves, or running like Captain America, or jumping off mountains, and certainly wasnt supposed to be suplexing other Titans. Yes, I know that is Godzilla's history, with some of the Showa movies being incredibly corny and over the top, but the Monsterverse was supposed to be a more realistic take on the character...something I feel like got lost with GvK, and especially GxK.
We agree with eachother: Evolved Godzilla just...doesnt feel imposing. He's not threatnening. He's glowing hot pink the whole time, the edgy spikes on the elbows and tail that makes him look like a Deviantart OC, and that torso is absolutely horrendous.
I'd be fine with the pink, I would VERY MUCH PREFER if he was blue, or purple if they were really trying to use 2000 as the scapegoat, but i'd forgive them if they at least bulked him back up.

Godzilla 2014 was a perfect interpretation of what the original 1954 movie was trying to be:
It is more of a disaster movie revolving around the crisis Godzilla is stirring up rather than big monster fights all the way through. They took a spin in the original and kept it mostly faithful while American-izing enough to be its own thing. Change my mind.

Heisei Godzilla shouldve kept the 84/Biollante roar throughout, just because it sounds way more commanding and powerful. Later roars sound too "friendly", like the Showa era, while the animalistic vibe of the roars made him stand out from the Showa incarnation

No, I don’t think so I think it’s a great design. Though pink is not my favorite color, it does make sense on the electromagnetic spectrum I kind of wish people acknowledge that a little more, but it is what it is. I think it leaves a lot of room to see what Godzilla could possibly change into within the future as long as they don’t straight too far from his design. I like what they did with the design leaning into the stegosaurus aspect with the tail having the thagomizer and I like the longer arms I’m looking forward to seeing what this new form can do

Evolved is DEFINETLY not the worst to me, but absolutely not good in any way either, the spines are strangelly fleshy, and that God forsaken waist and proportions make it fell cartoonish, which is something we don't want in a live action, realistic CGI, i feel the same for every other Monster in this Movie

If I may say something about Evolved Godzilla's design, my personal biggest gripe is that I think he's too skinny. His stomach seems to concave under his chest or something. Aside from that, I like most of the design.
Evolved Godzilla looks more like Krystlak from Godzilla Unleashed then the previous Godzilla design.

The trailers been out since last year and you are the first one to bring it up.
I think it’s actually pretty easy to differentiate the Heisei suits. I agree with preferring the 89-91 suits over the rest because the eyes alone give him a more animalistic look thus adding to his creepyness factor. The eyes in the 92-94 suits just seem too human, but in a cartoonish kind of way.

In Godzilla X Kong design... the proportions on him are just terrible. His midsection looks like all of his intestines were scooped out of his body, and it makes him look weird because of it. The CGI in Godzilla X Kong also looks cheap and unfinished.

The cat like face feels very animalistic, and the neck has so many nice ridges and bumps. The dorsal plates might not be everybody's cup of tea, but they really fit the more edgy designs of millennium Godzilla. Also kiryu is the best Mecha Godzilla design to date.

As a younger fan who hasn't seen every godzilla movie, I don't really care about the specifics of godzilla's design (my first godzilla movie, being 2014). i think that people should have their own creative libraries with the design so long as it works in the world but also as a godzilla. Zilla, although not necessarily a proper design, still works as its own thing, and with details like dorsal plates, i don't mind them having a different shape from time to time so long as it still fit the design. Personally, i don't understand the hate that gxk goji gets. Like, yeah, i get it. It's a way different look, but i still think it's a sweet look and matches what the movie was going for. As for how i would imagine my own godzilla, probably something like Kiriu goji mixed with the monsterverse and minos. Maybe with the white eyes from gmk.

89-91 is definitely different from 92-94. The 89-81 has a taller head and spike scale thingies while the 92-94 has a much flatter top of the head, also bigger eyes with crazy colors. Theres more minor differences in just proportions and stuff but thats the largest to me. Personally I think the 89-91 are the best. Some shots in the 91 movie just look so so so amazing and the suit is so detailed, really looks the best when its a head shot, like at the end of the movie when the guy in the building is talking to godzilla. That movie also has 2 suits in it. The one in the first battle with king ghidorah i think has a wierdly large chest. 89 is also amazing, it has a little bit of a thinner neck, i think i like the thicker neck of the 91 sometimes but really i flip flop between them so i say theyre tied for my favorite godzilla design. ALSO!!! I absolutely adore the 2014 design and his dorsal plates and his elephant feet. Gareth edwards and his team did an absolutely mindblowing job on their movie and it does NOT get enough love. I will die on this hill. Yes the 2019 design looks great too, but i prefer the 2014 because its more cohesive. The team for the 2014 movie designed godzilla from the ground up and made everything perfectly proportioned and realistic looking. Like i could imagine these proportions on a real animal if something like that (obviously smaller) were to evolve. The bigger spines and toes on the later legendary godzillas look kinda just slapped on, but just a bit and its not horrible. I just think 2014 gets hated on too much. Anyways i have millions of very strong godzilla opinions lol so i may write more later but its very late rn and yeah

I don't think "Godzilla Evolved" is the worst design Godzilla has ever had in its history, but it is the worst so far in the 21st century. Before, my opinion was that that title belonged to FinalGoji, but after Evolved (and probably the Godzilla Fest shorts), I took some respect for it.

Frankly, I never really thought Evolved Godzilla was a "bad" design. I like it conceptually, and the pink and added spike details I can live with or even like. It's just that the one single thing about it that makes it off to me is the shrunken torso, it makes him look kind of emaciated and I don't like it. I don't care if there's a story/biological reason behind it (taking in all the nuclear energy in his body into his energy output or evolving himself to look like Shimo or whatever), it's the one aspect of the design that's never grown on me ever since the leaks of the early toys. Granted it does look better on film than on the toys, but I still don't like it.
Again, it's not bad by any means, I just vastly prefer my Godzillas to have that tasteful CHONK

I personally think Godzilla X Megaguirus is the best Godzilla movie. It feels like a millennium version of one of the good showa movies, and megaguirus’ design, abilities and color palette are incredible. My one nitpick is the flying effect for megaguirus is terrible, it’s way too stiff. Godzilla’s behavior and movements in this movie make him feel animalistic and intelligent at the same time, which is basically what Godzilla is, which has not been presented in most movies, and the way he reels back when he’s about to fire his atomic breath (same as with 2000) is spectacular, and makes it feel like the atomic breath is truly destructive and powerful. The design is amazing too, 1999 and 2000’s proportions and colors are the best ones.

Pink Godzilla just feels disappointing because like for me he barley did anything in his new form. He used his atomic breath maybe twice. I think he hit Shimo once with it and it just felt so brief. He could of at least killed another monster in this new form to showcase how much stronger he had gotten.

To be honest back, then I hate it the evolved Godzilla design because he looked emaciated, plus the proportions in the colors really didn’t work, but the more that was revealed about it the better it actually looked. The only real criticism I have now is that Tia died for a form that could’ve had a lot more given to it, but no, just extra spike.

My underrated Godzilla film is Godzilla VS Megagurius.
Godzilla battling out with a giant space bug is so classic godzilla core. And the bugs being a callback to an older toho movie is cool as well. The reuse of the 2000 suit does make it confusing for newer fans, (like myself when i first watched it thinking it was a sequel to Godzilla 2000)
I think having it as a sort of legacy sequal to the original 1954 film is q cool aspect.
Whoever doesnt enjoy this movie but enjoys the shows era needs their eyes checked. This is such a modern showa film. Weird human subplot with a blackhole and a hacker man/programmer, giant spave bugs, and Godzilla doing a stupidly goofy jump at the end fight. Love it.

I've seen so much worse than Evolved Godzilla in terms of design. The problem with evolved Godzilla wasn't the design it's the fact you can take it out of the movie and hardly anything would change.

While it is growing on me, I still prefer chunky Monsterverse Godzilla, also Pink was a weird choice design for his atomic breath, maybe sticking with blue or it being red would be cooler.
For me this design was ruined by the weird marketing for the movie. Like, they picked the single worst shot of evolved Godzilla for the first trailer's thumbnail, and it looked like he had extremely huge hulking arms and a huge head and super skinny legs. Its proportions looked so wack that it legit looked like a guy in one of those inflatable Godzilla suits. And it also doesn't help they released that electronic toy of Godzilla which actually does have extremely huge arms. Overall I just misinterpreted the design and got all the wrong angles and I thought his bones literally grew and he had arms almost as big as kongs but after seeing the movie It's obvious he's just the same goji but slimmed down a lot. Proportions are really important to me so that was mostly what I was criticising the design for at first. Now that I've seen him in action and gotten over the pink I actually quite love the design.

The design still has bad proportions. The head is still too small, the arms are way too long and the sucked in tummy is absolutely terrible. The elbow and tail spikes are also stupid.
2014 design is still the best mv design. Its proportions are perfect, his dorsal plates, while not my favourite, make him look like a mountain whenever he emerges from the water. Every other design has terrible proportions and stupid changes. Hot take: Evolved Godzilla is the best Godzilla designs. The vibrant pink is extremely pretty and he has a supercharged beam variant with the classic blue around the pretty pink. His large arms are great at grappling with other titans, and lead to a variety of new fun poses. The elbow spikes can also be seen on minus one, and lead to fun ways for him to fight. The shrunken chest is easy to defend, I mean, from 2014 to 2021 people where complaining that he was too fat and bulky. Now with this new body type, he looks fast and agile, but also keeps his muscular physique. Also those eyebrow spikes are cool as heck. Finally, the spikes. The spikes are sharp and pointy and look even more dangerous than before. Also, comparing the G21 spikes to GojiEvo spikes, you can see that the spikes look fused and melted. His new spikes are because he absorbed so much energy, his spikes started melting inwards. Also when they're not glowing, I simply adore the dark pastel with deep reddish veins they went with. So yes, in my opinion, Evolved Godzilla is not only Godzilla, but the best Godzilla's ever made. Everything except the pink screams Godzilla. And the pink screams awesome design People who complain about this design and say he's the worst Godzilla, most likely, don't have a solid reason.

I'm not sure if this is a hot take but I feel like Singular Point should've been titled after Jet Jaguar instead of Godzilla himself since he gets so much little screentime that you forgot he even exists in the show. Also not a big fan of them to reuse the Shin Godzilla formula and worse is that all the forms look like they're based on monsters like Varan and Titanosaures and yet they wasted those designs by making them as forms of Godzilla.

I agree with you that Jet Jaguar is a more fitting title. I’ll eventually make an in depth video going over the many problems that I have with Singular Point but a big one is definitely a lack of Godzilla
My hot take.
Godzilla 84 is a poor, boring godzilla movie and the Japanese version doesn't feel like a Japanese Godzilla movie, it feels like an American trying to make a Japanese Godzilla movie. Doesn't feel authentic like the rest of the Heisei.
I go out on a Kaiju Ledge and say I think Godzilla 98 might have been Accepted Better if it had been a Beast from 20'000 Fathoms Remake. Sure it would have had the GODZILLA name to it for Media Purposes but....just my op.
Godzilla 1967 is the worst Godzilla design.
Ok, here is my take on the 1998 designs. It is not a good design for Godzilla, and it is actually pretty bad for Godzilla. But not because of the posture. It is bad because it is too tin, and lacks the bulk Godzilla should have. I actually dont have any problem with an horizontal, dinosaur like posture for Godzilla, as long as it is bulky and muscular enough, and keeping enough of the other traditional characteristics of the design.
My take: Hanna Barbera Godzilla is underrated, especially in terms of his design. I don't mind that he looks super simplistic and like a generic 70's retrosaur, and that copyright prevent him from using his trademark abilities. For a Hanna Barbera version of the character, it fits this Godzilla, especially since this was during a time when the West always saw Godzilla as a giant fire breathing dinosaur. And as someone who watched re-runs of those old HB cartoons on Boomerang, (The OG 2000's Boomerang not that Cartoonito shit) I like that.

Nah, at least in my opinion. I would say it’s probably my third favorite, the only ones I have above it are 95’ burning Godzilla and KiryuGoji
Hot Take 1: I personally like Godzilla vs Biollante for a few reasons; I like the old goofy Godzilla movies. They're goofy and entertaining. But Godzilla vs Biollante was the first somewhat gritty "Godzilla vs..." movie, other than maybe Godzilla 1955. I also like that it gave Godzilla a sibling, or at least the first movie to do so.
Hot Take 2: I like the old and goofy Godzilla movies because of how they give Goji so many superpowers. I also like how bloody it is. It makes me think of us telling stories when we were kids, trying to make it dark, brutal and scary.
I know people aren’t asking but here’s my take on it. I like it, but it could’ve been more. Allow me to explain.
The Anatomy
I wish they made him appear more muscular, what I mean are thicker shoulders, biceps, forearms, thighs, and calf’s, and maybe a tail. Evolved should’ve been super roided out.
The Pink Color Scheme
I do like it as it reminds me of Majin Buu. It has definitely grew on me a bit, but I wish that he was closer to Goku Black instead. Maybe instead of pure pink, we get some royal purple and maybe some hot pink. I just think it needs to be more intimidating because he is “FEARSOME GODZILAAAAA” after all.
Dorsals And Spikes
Really well done, I really like that edgy swagger he has. I bet you could tell by just looking at my account. Once again though, they did good, and I see no direct criticism to it accept maybe just the exaggeration of it, make his elbow spikes a tiny bit wider and it’ll be perfect. His dorsal plates are already great and I have no improvement for them.
Summary
Overall I like this design, he gets an 8/10 from me. He just needs to be more intimidating. This is just an opinion more than necessity although.

No not at all, there are way worse designs than this. This is actually my favourite legendary godzilla design, although I wish that he was all grey/black and kept the blue atomic breath. Plus make his head as big as kongs if not bigger and you have the best monsterverse design by far.

How do you feel about the Ifukube music being present/absent in Godzilla movie? I feel like when it's not present, the movie is missing a vital part of Godzilla. I do recognize that there are a lot of Godzilla movies without it and still turned out to be really good I just can't shake the feeling they would be better with the Ifukube stuff in them. What are your thoughts?

Hot take: Heisei Godzilla is the worst live action design next to 67, hes not only fat but nearly immovable. The Face just looks too cute or too stupid, not menacing at all. I dont necessarily like his spikes either just too round.

Another Hot Take I have is that the Millenium era of Godzilla is the best since you don’t have to watch the previous movie to understand it besides the Kiryu saga. It gives this era a sense of identity in that it’s like an anthology series revolving around Godzilla and how he might act in one universe.

My hot take is this: I feel like the 2002-2003 Godzilla design is very beautiful but criminally underrated. The jagged white spines, the frill on his neck, his expressive face, his bulky but lean bodyshape. In my opinion that is a perfect Godzilla design, it has the imposing appearance and yet shows some mobility to fight. I wish we saw more of it.
My hot take. Shin actually became less interesting when he reached his final form in the film. He just became something that just walked around slowly. His previous forms actually captured the idea that it was scared and didn’t understand what was happening to it
Nah there was definitely a big change in suit design between 91 and 92
The 89-91 suits were made to look muscular and ferocious. But they slimmed him down in 92 and made him look a lot less ferocious with different head shapes and bigger eyes. And he just sorta kept this for the rest of the era.
Absolutely not! It's one of the BEST Designs! Godzilla had remained relatively the same throughout the Monsterverse, it was time to do something New with him! It's a new kind of Form in Godzillas history of Transformations, like Super Godzilla

Shin Godzilla was originally going to use a massive animatronic. The robot itself looked beautiful and could’ve 100% worked but they turned to just CGI in the end.
Hot take: if evolved goji wasn’t so slim it would most likely be my favorite monsterverse design. I absolutely LOVE the pink look for goji, I think it would totally work if they gave him his muscle back. I also think that removing the elbow spikes would make it better.

I'm saying this before I start the video so I hope this Godzilla design is in it, everyone should agree that that Son of Godzilla suit is absolutely terrible
Hot take: evolved godzilla is the best design thats ever been made for a godzilla ever. All the spikes, his D1 linebacker build (makes sense because how much he tackles his enemies) and its fitting to show how much faster and more agile he's gotten even tho hes gotten bigger but slimmer around the waist, the elbow and tail spikes look really cool and fit his new more spikey appearance and are both good weapons in combat, the square head looks really sick, and the pink/magenta is alot better than the blue because it gives me Super Saiyan Rosè vibes which is one of my favorite transformations in dragon ball. Blue was amazing and all and really iconic for a godzilla but the pink is so new and unique.
I like godzooky. I think the concept of a flying godzilla is cool and I feel like the concept of a flying godzilla species or sub species pretty cool, I also just tend to like obscure unpopular characters in general though. Or maybe it's just the nostalgia talking...
Hot take: Shin godzilla’s design is not terrifying, it looks goofy, because of his eyes I can’t take him seriously(especially those thise, their too big compared to his arms).
Note: I am not saying that it is a bad design(I like the blood all over him and his atomic breath), although it does not look terrifying.

the Heisei Godzilla films (1984-95) have the best themes, reason being is you can hear the rage and power behind Godzilla. Like in Godzilla Arrives In Hokkaido you can hear the power behind Godzilla’s footsteps and roars as well as the Fury Of Godzilla from 1993 you can hear his rage behind the red atomic breath and the rage he has for Rodan’s death
