Thanks, I like WD40 as well, but I was out! :^) I did have Hilco lube, but I didn't want to use any lubricants here because the flanges require welding, and I figured having no lubricant residue to clean off the porous cast aluminum would help reduce any welding problems.
I suppose - never done it myself having never needed an RTJ. Is there enough difference in cost to be worth the trouble? Having said that - You would want to make sure the RF would meet the specs of the RTJ, I think I would go with a purchase if you're talking about a high temp/pressure application.
@@nurfays123 thank you for your comment...let me explain in detail...indeed I am a valves trader and my supplier has too long lead time for Valves with RTJ connection...and I lost a lot of business ...so I'm looking for a solution...I buy Valves with RF and I mechanically transform them into RTJ...is it possible to do that without touching the valve integrity ?
Just to help some b of you guys save time. You can skip the center drill operation. Use a screw machine drill. They are short and stubby and will stay on center to get your hole started. 118
Your speeds for pilot holes is to slow especially with no lubricant on aluminium..?? And tapping a hole with out lube will tear the threads, facing your flange with a boring bar what's with that?? Everything in with this video I could pick on not to trade practices, you would not work in my machine shop
Don't know about you guys, but 'm just here for the music!
Mr Rod
Can you help me make factory of flanges?
what is the process you are doing at timestamp 6:30?
chip load up I use Wd40 n maching and tapping works very well on aluminum saves on buying new cutters breaking a tap off
Helpfull, thanks you!

ye kya job hai sir
A good welder would clean any part before welding. And is this machine your using a cnc?
Hey Joe La Roche, no this is not a cnc lathe, just an ENCO.
could we convert RF flanges to RTJ ?

+FlashTechEngineering thanks for watching the vid, I can only work with what I have. Good thing I'm not a machinist eh?
BTW I used the boring bar for the same reason Keith did here @ 15:14: ruclips.net/video/ype-yeZ_eck/видео.html , reaching over the gap
any utpian here
