This is prime Nadal and Novak at their best. Novak's supreme defense and Nadal's aggressive hard court game at this time.
Nole on PED is sonmething else

Nadal Djokovic a grind gritty rivalry
We are very grateful to watch these great match it was us open 2013 final so
Oh how I will miss them when they retire... Tennis will never be the same! These guys are from another planet!
I already miss them, you can no longer see this charged game play now
Nadal fired at least three posible winners and didn't win the point, amazing defense by Nole!
What amazes me more is the fact that he can move like that even in 2021.
Minister of defence
Against Roddick almost all of them would have ended in winners 😂😂😂😂
Great defense but no he didn’t.
@@vika0194huh?
There should be at least 4 winners from Rafa but Novak's Defense was soooooo good!!!
And court so slow
@@Nicotine46 Exactly.
@@armstrongtixid6873cope, court only seems slow because they're faster
Wowwwww what a demonstration of physical strengh.....That shows what do you need to do to win a point against Rafa....
javier jesus baladés MENTAL STRENGTH. God they all are literally in perfect condition you can compete at this level if you are not. It is about the MENTAL STRENGTH
Nole kept it safe with nearly all shots his playing balls deep in the middle, his clear intention was not to open the corners and angles so it's clear he wanted to outlast Nadal. He was and still is probably the only one on the tour who's actually able to do that. Nadal tried to shorten the point on two occasions when he saw an opportunity, however in both occasions Nole survived his dangerous attacks deep in corners and succeeded to reset the situation to hitting deep in the middle.
More like against Djokovic
@@Frank_Lee_Terribleagainst both
when you are seeing Nadal vs Djokovic then you are seeing the ultimate Tennis !
This. is. tennis. It's not about how you serve but how you maneuver the rally.
It really depends on the surface, balls used and conditions. At those times GS tournaments used really slow balls. I reckon if amateur players balls with such a slow felt it would drive the players nuts. With those balls players need to hit harder than usually to make the ball deep, OTOH it's much harder to overhit, in fact it's nearly impossible if they clear the net within reasonable height margin even with flattish balls for ATP merits...ball just slows down and drops deep in the court. Anyway, those conditions allowed lot of exchanges as it's particularly hard to hit a winner as long as your opponent places the ball deep. AO surface was at least a bit faster than the USO surface, slower USO surface combined with a slower ball is what suited Nadal's game better, while some mid fast conditions were and still are Nole's forte. For that reason Nadal was less successful at the AO than at the USO. Any faster ball and the outcome of this match might have been and probably would have been different. One more interesting thing, Nadal today and during few last seasons is better on relatively faster conditions than he ever was in the past, his game constantly improved through time, so even if GS organizers allowed bit faster balls than then, he's still highly competitive to win HC GS titles, and especially at the USO.
boring boring boring boring tennis

@@sunritroykarmakar4406 if that's boring tennis stop watching tennis...watch another sport
I don't know about that, there have been some wayyy better points in terms of "maneuvering" the rally. At some point they're basically just hitting the ball back at each other. Their 2 great points at the 2011 USO were better than this imo.
Just a moments ago we've witnessed something just as special between Ruud and Khachanov with 56-shot rally Semi US-open 2022
@@tennislove6716 True, but that's what the english commentator said after the rally, his bad I guess. :d
not the same level though. This was brutal with Nadal pounding Djokovic. But Nole incredible defense prevailed
(1) What a rally! Thank you for sharing this video. (2) Rafa and Novak have pushed each other to become the two greatest tennis champions I have ever seen. (I did not see Rod Laver play.)
This point tells a whole story of their rivalry! 👍🏻
My favorite matches are between these two. Tennis icons. 💕
That was 10 yeas ago and they're still at it 🤯
This match was the best I’ve ever seen Nadal play Djokovic, he hit deep flat shots with mix of slices, when Nole took the early backhand to his forehand Nadal stepped in and hit it down the line.
2020 French Open
@@travisblair3189 I don't think people take the Roland Garros matches into account considering the fact that playing Nadal at Roland Garros is like fighting Batman in Gotham City.
@@IzakD8 Agreed.
I’m not going to attempt to explain how difficult that really is and how easy they can make it look
I love u rafa.extradinary play
Nadal 👋💪😘
Hope this will be the final in Ao this year
Of course, that will be another classic between these 2 beasts
Thy wish hath been granted, son!
Yes they are legendary tennis
that's what Djoker does better than anyone. defend. i mean rafa hit 3 maybe 4 winners deep in the corner yet Nole get's the ball back somehow an eventually wins the point.. amazing.........
Greatest tennis ball defender at work
54 shots, that's longer than most gun fight in movies
This was peak rafa... routing prime nole in RG/USO
4 years ago and still have the GOAT's name misspelled?! Also i think the press was like "we need a goat". "what name is the easiest to spell?"
Djokovic.... With love........
Awesome. 👏👏👏
nobody in the history of the sport defends better than Nole.
2005-2010 Rafa.
@@ruckfules9441 Prior to Novak reaching his prime, from 2011 to today.
There will never be 2 tennis players who take it to the unknown like these two did in their primes! Not before them and not after! They played points like these many times, in 2012 in Australia they did exactly that and Rafa won the long rally. They will never be surpassed.
LEGENDS!
Diokovic it's incredible
Hey US Open, can you upload Fognini/Ferrer from 2016?
Insane as they were, their game was still improving; if it was today, they probably would have come the net long before or done some drop shots.
That’s insane
Today's Rafa would go to the net way before they get the chance to hit so many shots. Djoko would way from the baseline as always tho.
you don't need excuses here, nadal won the match
Fallen Angel He's crying about nadal losing this point, so I had to remind him that he won the match anyway
@@thomasbrunkle8389 sad that 2019 might be the last year for Federer, fedtard? 😂😂
@juneaug Lok who said, Nostradamus? Oh, no, a fake account instead
Fedal may be great, but Nadjoko is the best rivalry
Facts!!it is both more attractive and unpredictable
And Fedovic remains as the most underrated rivalry ever
Fedal is a Rivalry that goes further than on court, Nadal and Roger have so different styles and personalities. Djokovic and Nadal are more similar and when they play it's pure cosmic tennis!!!! Both rivarlies are amazing, we have to enjoy em.....
True
The best rivalries of all time:
1. Djodal
2. Fedal
3. Djokerer
Intense game!!!!
Nole 🐐❤️
Net is Lava
Rafa doesn't make unforced errors. He just gets bored of long rallies and throws the ball wherever (yes, that's how I want to look at it)
THis was funny because it was sort of like if he fell asleep after his second to last shot and remained in the middle of the court.
@@Dark_Voiceafter firing 4 possible winners agaisnt anybody else its hard to stay calm
Wow OMG 😱💘💘💘 fantastique ever 🙌 fabulous I love them
Nadal could beat any tennis player on a regular basis, even Federer, but his record against Djokovic since late 2013 is 7 wins 15 losses. Overall Djokovic slights leads the rivalry 30 to 29 however there was one stretch from 2013 to 2016 when Djokovic beat Nadel 11 out of 12 matches. Out of Nadel 29 victories over Djokovic 20 of them have been on clay surfaces. Nadel's non-clay victories against Djokovic were all between 2007 to 2013.
I forgot who won the match?
Nadal
Rafa had his best hardcourt season that year he went undefeated on outdoor hardcourts- and he was returning to the tour from injury.
Nadal inb3 sets to 1
Was this 2010 or 2013?
@@josephballance6100 that was 2013 US Open Final.
Djokovic was drained out by Wawrinka in the semi-final. I am not giving an excuse here, Nadal was on fire and was unstoppable by no means. Congratulations to Nadal.
as a Djokovic fan, this US Open defeat is the most heatbreaking defeat Nole had vs Nadal (at least IMO).
Who’s here after RG semi 2021
Me 😁
This is the last time Nadal beat Djokovic on a hard court. 2013.
Nadal DOP
What's really awesome is who won the match.
What's even better is who's ahead in everything .
Nadal smart to keep him at the backhand
Nadal should have won that point
I remember that, Djokovic was broken right after :D
NoVax the Serbianator is simply the goat
Djokoic
Better than the 53 shots between Djoko and Zverev 😄
奧運金牌後再來回味
Rafa should’ve come to the net. He was afraid and ended up in no man’s land.
Rudd vs Khachanov anyone? But not as powerfull
Nadal can credit Djokovic for ruining his body
When you see that and realize how boring tennis is gonna become.
Nadal was unplayable that year
Ugh the most overrated rally ever. Slow, largely passive pushing. Djokovic and Nadal have had many better rallies but people love to point this out for some funny reason.
Not to mention, this long overrated rally ending on an error, and Djokovic cheering because he simply didn't miss. Simply trying to outlast the opponent and not miss does not make for a great rally.
@@pomerlain8924 I think he cheered because he broke Nadal's serve.
nadal 🖕 Djokovic 💪
Ugh, I hate this kind of pushing. Djokovic ruined the sport with this nonsense.
