I've had a pair of Smith & Wesson handcuffs for about 10 years now, got them along with a bunch of little shims. I'd let my kids handcuff me behind my back, then sit down on the couch making believe I couldn't get out meanwhile I've shimmed them open and dropped them behind the cushion. I'd make believe I'm about to sneeze, pull out the uncuffed hands and stop myself. They would stare in disbelief at how they seemingly disappeared :) Lot's of fun!

We used to do the 2nd trick in prison using the plastic circle from water bottle after chewing it to make it flat (we did this for comfort in transit vehicle)

You absolutely can free yourself. The easiest way of course would be to have a handcuff key concealed somewhere along your belt line. 5.11 makes pants with a secret pocket for a handcuff key.
Unfortunately not -- there's too much tension in there for banging to just release it. At least, that's true as far as I can tell. You can give it a go if you like! :-)

i always had safety pins hidden somewhere in my clothes, and earrings/body jewelry/etc where i could reach from almost any position. saved my life twice- literally. breathe, wait (if u can), pick (zip ties use same ratchet mechanism), look for your chance, and choose next self-defense weapon. Do Not hit them with something stupid and run, or say "please" or worse "you don't have to do this!"- that is movie shite. hit and keep hitting until you Know they will not get up. advice from 100 lbs twice abductee. and you can always break your tumbs- but i prefer good old safety pins/shim. open to honest responses. thx for ur video.🙏🏽
I don't know why you need to tell people this and you don't tell them that the first thing the police do is search for pics or shims . Also these are cheap copies they're not real police handcuffs which have a smaller keyhole are much harder to pick
I got out of some one time no id on me and I wasn't about to let them get one on me so when I got brought around the front of the cruiser and the cops started searching my friends I had a key and boom gone left the handcuffs tho wanted nothing to do with them and I wanted to dumbfound the officers making them think they were faulty or question each other lol

Can you still pick the cuffs if with a paper clip if the locking mechanism is in place?
Can you unlock it with the paperclip?
If the double lock is in then you have to pop that out before you can pick the main lock...

How does the the shim move the blue bar if activated?
It doesn’t.. you’d have to deactivate it first. A bent bobby pin (hair clip) would do the trick.
Will banging release the double lock? And will banging it release the paul?
