- 🌊The crow's nest, provided in Amati's Santa Maria kit looks very fine but somewhat artificial.
In this video, I'll try to redesign it. This is just a kind of model-making experiment. So, have fun!

-------------------------------------
In this video series, I am constructing a model of the Santa Maria sailboat - the largest ship from Christopher Columbus's 1492 expedition. The model is based on a 1/65 scale kit from Amati.
Since Amati ship model kit designs are often simplified for easier assembly, there are certain elements that I will significantly modify or correct. As I construct this model, I will demonstrate how I make these modifications to enhance the accuracy of the final product.
To achieve the highest level of historical accuracy, I am using various sources such as ship modeling materials, online resources, and the book "The Ships of Christopher Columbus. Santa Maria, Niña, Pinta." Join me on this exciting journey of building a sailboat model that is as true to the original as possible.

Again, fantastic skills! Great job!! You're, in many ways, showing how to improve a ship's kit. Thanks!!
Thank you indeed for good words! 🙏
Muito bom!
Genial 🇧🇷👍
Thank you!
You can definately will compete the professional ship builder Olga Bacharov..😁😁😄
😉 I highly respect what and how Olga is doing! But I’m sure there is a room for everyone and it is rather about cooperation than competition 😊😊😊
Fantastic! Great Job!! Can you please provide us with the files to print the "contraption" that you've come up with?
That’s a plan. Right now I have to resolve some technical issues.
Do you have the models on file that you can provide? thanks
I created the crow's nest model solely for visualization purposes. The wooden parts were crafted without the use of a CNC machine. Consequently, this specific model is rendered impractical in this scenario. While I typically construct models on request, I am currently not doing that.
