    **************************************
    Having found the place where I want to establish my new primitive settlement, I begin the process of making adobe bricks. In hot summer weather an adobe structure will maintain a cooler temperature while during the cold winter months it will be much warmer. I intend to make about four-hundred bricks for all the projects I want to do this year so it will take some time but it will make survival out here much easier.
    This series will be ongoing so be sure to stay tuned for the next video.

    FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):
    Who films you?
    Me. I travel alone, shoot, edit, upload, everything, all alone. On a few occasions I may be accompanied by a friend.
    How many cameras do you use?
    Usually I use just one camera. When I have underwater scenes then I also use a GoPro camera. I get different angles by moving the camera around and repeating the action to create a more cinematic viewing experience for the audience.
    Where is this place?
    In order to protect the integrity of the natural landscape I prefer to be very vague about the locations I use. There are places that I used to visit that were so beautiful and untouched but the consequences of social media brought all kinds of people to visit and sadly some people do not respect nature and have badly damaged these places. Therefore I do not share locations.
    Where did you get your sandals?
    I first started wearing sandals on outdoor adventures in February 2014. I’m so glad that I did because wearing these Luna Sandals has really helped strengthen my feet. You can see their selection of adventure and running sandals at this link: www.lunasandal...
    (Note: I receive an affiliate commission from any sales derived from clicking on the link above)
    Do you workout?
    Yes, I workout, but not in a gym. I have some weights that I use and also do a lot of bodyweight exercises. I also run and sometimes swim. I hike frequently to collect wild foods and to shoot these videos so I'm very active all the time.
    Are you vegan or vegetarian?
    I wish I could maintain my health on a primal diet that does not include animals but unfortunately that did not work well and I ended up with health problems as a result of those attempts. From my studies, observations of nature, and personal experience I have come to believe that the best diet for optimal human health is a primal diet (paleo).
    Do you get lonely when you’re alone?
    No, I don’t get lonely. I’m actually so busy shooting video, taking photos and doing so many other things like making cordage, cooking, weaving, etc. that I really don’t have time to think about my lonely condition. Sometimes when something profound happens on an adventure I can’t wait to share it with people, but other than that I do not get lonely.
    How many languages do you speak?
    My first language is English but I also speak fluent Spanish and Portuguese. I also speak very little Russian. I may soon begin learning more languages.
    How old are you?
    I was born in 1972. At the time of this video I was 48.
    Where did you get the music in your videos?
    This series is the first one that I am making all the music myself. I recently made a drum and maracas (rumba shaker). I am now using them to create the intro and ending music in my videos, but before in the past I have used royalty free music from several sources including RUclips. Sometimes I bought the music but usually it was free.

    It's just my opinion, but don't you think it would be much more practical and efficient to work these adobes near the lake? The clay has much better quality for this purpose in the lake's mages, it is close to the water and there are many more grasses nearby that can be cut and used in adobes (never use green plant material), and you can still dose the clay if it is is cracking a lot with river sand. The bricks, as well as all clay work, must always dry in the shade and in an airy place so as not to crack, only after they are dry they are taken to the sun to clear the place for new shipments, make a shape for the bricks will be much more practical. When the bricks are ready you can take them to the construction site.

    • @ChadZuberAdventures
      @ChadZuberAdventures  3 года назад

      I thought about using rock to build but I think I would need to carry in tons of rock and then it would be complicating to put it together like a puzzle and then fill the gaps with mud. It wouldn't be as solid either. The advantage of adobe bricks is that when they are all joined together with mud, it becomes like one solid piece and it's quite strong.

    • @ChadZuberAdventures
      @ChadZuberAdventures  3 года назад

      And yes, tools really do make a big difference. I have a dilemma. It's easy to recognize that you need something or should make particular tools but it all takes time and there are priorities and I am filming a lot of this. What specific tools do you have in mind?

      I went into a museum once and saw weavings and supplies for spinning and weaving dug up from a grave on Peru's coast. The items seemed to show how to produce their cloth. Pretty effectively too. It seems we were supposed to be the ones who eventually were intended to be shown them. They weren't buried to keep the lady happy, or to satisfy some urge to placate Arachne, the muse of spinning. The items were meant to bypass generations to whom they were common and to reach out to the lady's great-great-great-------granddaughters, who might have lost the art, and to show it to them. It worked.

    • @ChadZuberAdventures
      @ChadZuberAdventures  3 года назад +1

      I don't film everything I do and I'm not out here all the time. A native diet doesn't even need a toothbrush. I often floss with yucca fibers or a few strands of hair.

      @MrTomuron 3 года назад +1

      @@ChadZuberAdventures gotcha, but despite the natural diet not needing to toothbrush that often isn't the plaque building up anyway just slower? Genuinely curious about this. Love what you do, really nice and soothing to watch.

      I rarely go to a dentist so I don't really know. I often floss and I sometimes will use a bundle of yucca fibers to brush with but when in "normal" life I brush like "normal" people but I use more natural toothpaste.
