What is the thread diameter? I'm from Russia, so I can't buy the same yarn as in the video. So I want to find a yarn that is similar in thickness. Also, will this sweater fit men's size XL? If not, how do I calculate the size?
Hiii! I absolutely LOVE this pattern. I'm currently in the process of working on the front panel and I'm assuming I just have to repeat the steps for the front panel for the back panel as well? I'm almost done with the height and am getting ready to move onto the neck and shoulder line, and it doesn't fit around me, so that's why I'm looking for some clarification! Thanks so much!
Hi! Thank you! You can leave more stitch at the center before you decrease for the neckline. The back panel doesn't need the neckline so it's just a rectangle. but if you need the neck hole to be bigger, you can make it exactly the same as the front panel. Some sweaters are like that.
Hello! I'm making this sweater and I just noticed that, since the decrease rows are less for the back panel, won't the total stitch count for the shoulders be different than the front panel's? So how do you sew these if they do have a different stitch count? Great work, thanks to your tutorial my sweater is coming out great!
Hi! Honestly, I don't remember if I decreased for the back panel cuz it's been some time. But if I did, then the front and back should have the same stitch number. Less decrease rows, but also started with less stitches to work for each should, so eventually the stitch number for front and back do meet up, if that makes sense 🥰
Hello. This is a lovely jumper thank you but I'm a bit confused. You said for front panel find middle then count 10 stiches on either side. But at the end after the decreased you said single crochet in the front 10 stiches. I have 20! I look forward to your reply 😊

hi! i love this pattern!! i just have one question about the top parts of front panel. on one side you decrease differently than the other side and it made the sides look completely different. should i just pick one type of decrease or is this how it should look?
Thank you! I do remember the 2 decrease sides are a bit different but it's by design. It's to ensure the neckline shaping is symmetrical. I imagine if we use the same decrease stitch on both sides, one side would have a slope with a different angle, if that makes sense.
Hellooo, do u have measurements for this beautiful sweater? I wanted to crochet this for my man and i wanted to know if it will even fit him. Ty very much
Hello. I'm needing your assistance please. I decreased for 7 rows on front panel and did extra 4 rows on back panel then decreased for 3 rows as instructed but of course the panels didn't match up becausevi decreased less in the back row. Should i just decrease extra rows (7 like the front) so panels match? Thank you for your help 😊
Hi, thanks for asking 😊 it sounds like the row count of the two panels should match up. I would double check the row count and make it work in any way I can. This is because the back panel should reach higher then the front, so you can't really make them exactly the same, otherwise the back of the neck will feel uncomfortable
@@CherilynQ thank you so much. I also have a question about decreasing around the neck please. Why do we decrease differently on each side? Like one side is standard decrease and other is hdc/dc decrease. My project is looking good though ☺ I think with this standard patern i could make a sweater any size. It's BRILLIANT Thanks ❤☺
That's a really good question! Sorry I couldn't find where exactly you are referring to in the video but to answer your question, it would be because the stitches that we worked in are different in height, some taller, some shorter. If you wanna work 1 st over them, those incomplete sts have to be different height as well. A simpler example: if row 1 is 1 hdc + 1 dc, how would you compensate for the height difference in row 2? by working 1 dc in the hdc and 1 hdc in the dc. The standard dc is probably worked over 2 hdcs and the hdc/dc decrease is probably over a dc + a hdc If you could give me the time stamps, I could be more specific, but anyway I hope this makes sense, and you're very welcome!
For the back panel,do we just do the same exact thing we did for the front? I'm very new to crocheting, and I'm a bit past halfway through the front panel, but I used a 5mm hook, do you think I should get a 4.5 mm and restart? The width is still about 27 inches but I'm really anxious about how it will turn out.
The back panel doesn't need the neckline shaping but the rest is the same as the front; I'd need more info to give advice on hook size but if you are happy with the tension, you should stick to it; 27' width is what you can see with mine; If you think it's too big/wide, you can rip a few ribbing rows to make it narrower.
@@CherilynQ wait I am very confused. In this video you say to put 4 decrease rows at the top of the back panel, but in your comments you're saying it's just a rectangle. Which is it?

Hi Cherilyn, I’m new in crochet , I’m following to make a sweat we with you, but my yarn is thick so can I chain not 100 but only 85? (‘‘tis it ok to follow if I have only 85 chain?)
Hi! Maybe make it an even number. It doesn’t really matter but it might just make it easier to follow when it comes to the neckline bit. I suggest going through that part first so you know how it works.
Start with a shorter ribbing and make the front & back pieces smaller in width and height. Chain less for the sleeves but do the same or more rows. You can keep the neckline the same.
hello! so for my pattern I have 150 stitches instead of 100, what would you suggest for the neckline? or would it be the same? I’m just afraid the neckline is gonna be a bit snug so how would I go about this?
Hi! I would suggest leaving the same number of stitches at the center for the neck hole if you like my neckline size, but if that seems too small for you, you can leave another 2 inches of stitches at the center. If you want a lower neckline, you'll need to start the decrease a bit earlier. Hope this helps.
hey i’m almost done with your tutorial but i don’t understand how to increase while making the sleeves. i’ve read the other comments where you said to just add more stitches but u don’t understand how to do that😅. could you please explain how to do that? thank you in advance
Hi! When you do single crochet rows for the cuff, work more rows (of an even number) so the sleeve would have more stitches across, which makes it wider.
i know the width of the bottom cuff is 27 in., but what is the length? i chained 10 and it’s very small. i may have to chain more than 10 depending on the length of your cuff
Hi, I don't know what yarn you are using but if your yarn is thinner, your work will be shorter with the same number of sts. Do you want your sweater to be 20 or 27 inches wide? cuz it totally depends on you! If you want it to be the same size as mine, then do 27 inches, don't worry about the st number. Although if I'm remembering it right, the st count here needs to be an even number to work the moss stitch. Oh, and your hook size: go with whatever your yarn calls for 😊
The center 2 are Stitches 50 and 51. Yours are the 38th and 39th stitch. 100 is an even number. An odd number like 3, 99 or 101 would have 1 center stitch.
i have approximently 85 rows in total for the height of my sweater, how do I make it so that my sleeves will attach ? how many rows should my sleeve be @@CherilynQ
22:18 I think I walked through the front and back panel together. Both panels have decrease rows for the neckline shaping but the decrease in back panel begins 4 rows later than front
hi im doing the two half double crochets on the ends of each row for the front panel and now the sweater is going like ↖️↗️ and not ⬆️⬆️ on the edges. am i doing this wrong?
Hi! Thank you! I think this can fit someone who wears L. I didn't refer to a size chart, I just went with the measurements I like, so I couldn't say its exact size. You can use any hook size. You can make a 3X by adjusting st number and row count to the front&back panels and also to the sleeves with whatever hook size your yarn calls for. I remember the foundation chain number has a requirement but other than that, you can adjust panel length and width pretty easily. You can look up a size chart or find a sweater the person you're making this for wears and use its measurements as a reference. Like if it says "18 inches sleeve length for 3X", that's the sleeve panel row count, so just work the rows until it measures roughly 18 inches. This is how I make all my clothes anyway. I'm not sure I'm clear enough though, so if you have more questions, please feel free to follow up! 🥰
@@CherilynQ thank you for your advice... I did get her measurements so I will make sure I go by them. I love this sweater and plan on making one for myself as well. Thank you again 😊

You can definitely chain more if you want to, and it doesn't have to be exactly my cuff length
Сколько пряжи ушло на свитер?

Hello 👋👋
I made 50(100) stitches but it is just 20 inches. Not 27 in as shown.
Did I do anything wrong?
I used 4.5 mm hook..
Oh, and your hook size: go with whatever your yarn calls for 😊
@@CherilynQ Got it.. Thank you 💐💐
No worries!
What’s the yarn size of the wool you use?
It doesn't say on the label but I would say it's worsted
what size is this, is it a size S/M?
so sorry to bother you again but if i wanted to increase the size of the sleeves would i just add an extra row of increase?
Please feel free to ask! Did you mean as in longer sleeve? If so, yes, add more rows. If you meant wider, add more stitches
ah i meant wider but i see now, thanks!!
No problem 😉
not me doing this at 1:08am lol
since you have 100 stiches shouldnt the center be at stitch 50? what are the center 2? I have 76 stitches what should i do
The center 2 are Stitches 50 and 51. Yours are the 38th and 39th stitch.
100 is an even number. An odd number like 3, 99 or 101 would have 1 center stitch.
thank youuu, how should i connect the sleeves together ?
@@liinnda1847 You can use whip stitch or mattress stitch. Whip stitch is a bit easier.
i have approximently 85 rows in total for the height of my sweater, how do I make it so that my sleeves will attach ? how many rows should my sleeve be @@CherilynQ
I started with 100 stitches across but now I just noticed I’m at 102 stitches. Is that suppose to happen? Or should I be at 100 exactly in every row?
No, it shouldn't increase. It should still 100 sts every row before the neckline.
I also ended up with 102 stitches. What should I do? I don’t want to re-do the entire sweater.
i wanna make this sweater but i want to make it stripped horizontally, what should i do?
This pattern does create horizontal stripes but wouldn't work for vertical ones
how much yarn did I you use for this sweatee
Almost 1200 grams, 2000 meters
@@CherilynQ thank youuu!!
@@nahiaboulartabel6523 No worries!
Sleave part you didn't show on ur video
I didn’t understand how you made the back panel.. I tried to watch the whole video and was no back panel pattern.
Hi! 2 hdcs on the ends sounds right. If the edge is a little loose, you can make the hdcs tighter (tighter tension or smaller hook)

Where is the all pattern? ❤
I don't have a pattern for this yet, but you can find my other patterns on Etsy and Ribblr 😊
im about to lose my insanity tho
hey how many chains do i need for a medium plz
Hi, You can always chain 10 for the ribbing and then work single crochet rows until it's 25 inches for a medium size (the one I made is an L) :)
Hello 👋 I want to make this sweater but I didn't hear you say what size you're making.... I need to make a 3X.... What size hook should I use?
Hi!
No worries! So glad you love it! 💕

So it’s 1200grams of yarn?? Yikesss I knew the moss stitch would be a yarn eater 🤑🤑🤑
@@Cottonandcolorco yes, i started crocheting this patterny with too Giant yarns And Now i had to buy 2 more big yarns And i Hope it will be enough.
Please someone give me knitted sweater 😂
It’s not knitting😭
Sorry but it’s the second and third stitch not row 2 and row three.
Is there a chart for smaller sizes?
