Danzig is the reason for the season. Their entire sound exists because of Danzigs phenomenal songwriting & soothing 50's sounding melodies & voice. That coupled with the look, & "attitude" 😉, made The Misfits what they are. That said, I'll say this... Graves does have a great voice & I definitely enjoyed many many songs with him as well. maybe I am the one that misunderstands or am not "in the know" of something that happened, that's possible but I met the guy last year and my impression of him was that (and he was my punk hero for quite some time as well) he is greatly talented, kind and very openminded individual no matter color or creed. He seemed quite respectful in general also to people that didn't share his "genes or estethic look". Also my impression, unfortunately, he like many other artists, is not the sharpest tool in the box, but very creative and passionate none the less. Misfits was and is a commercial machine to fool kids into thinking they are "punk" to buy the branded shit. Its fine, I bought it, I still love it haha. I disagree with nearly every political statement he has ever made, but I think people are also very happy to jump onto the cancel-train, judging from the outside, because someone said something Dumb, something you don't agree with or choose to misinterpret what someone said as it fits your own narrative better making you look like a better human being. Does he say dumb shit? Oh yes, but to publicly call the man a "white supremacist" based off of that, seems a bit strong to me. Also, and this amuses me to no end, in the "punk world" somehow, standing up for something you care about is only acceptable when it "fits the one and only true conformist punk narrative", which is the actual OPPOSITE of PUNK imo, where you do and say what you feel and care about, no matter how wrong or right others think you are, no matter who agrees or disagrees and now we are here... where the "punk" fans are cancelling their previous heroes because they are not "PC". You gotta admit, that's pretty funny.. Also being a good songwriter or singer has very little to do with how you express yourself in interviews or online so this seemed like a great opportunity to just bash, yet you're not actually answering the question that was asked, so why do you think Danzig is the better writer or singer? (don't confuse this question with: Who do you think is a nicer person? Which I couldnt answer myself as I don't know them personally, but if you do, feel free to shed some light on this).
I assumed the video was so short becuase you would just say Danzig, end of discussion.

I like them both, they are both unique talented musicians in their own way. I don't think anyone else could have filled Danzigs boots as well as Graves did.

Misfits with him is the Misfits sound...not taking anything away from Graves, I sang for a Graves era tribute band absolutely love his stuff-but I've always maintained that maybe it shouldn't have been called the Misfits? Danzig to Graves is like replacing Peter Steele with Dexter from the Offspring. Both rock but eeennidunno?

You know, ive had some time to think about it and honestly, screw Danzig and Graves, I'm going with Eddie. I realized last night on his livestream I'd rather hear him sing all Misfits songs than Graves or Danzig.
I don't have much of an opinion on this versus question. Im more of a Ramones type punk than a Misfits type. But i do love Hybrid Moments

Flip... 100%. I had a guy I know with a straight face tell me that Graves made the Misfits what they are today. This dude is 40. He also actually thought Graves was the original frontman for them. He thought Danzig came second. 🤣

A lot of Graves era songs are underrated. Saturday Night, Them, Don't Open Til Doomsday, Forbidden Zone. Those are some of my all time favorite Misfits songs. Danzig was very good, but I feel he is a bit overrated and I didn't dig his solo work at all.
I don't think Glen could sing Dig Up Her Bones that good.

Graves, great lyrics, very unique voice, great look, great stagepresence, everything misfits related is great about this guy imo. Metallica got me into the Misfits, Danzig then scared me away as he seemed to be one Fed up indivudual I just couldn't relate to at the time, but he was (hopefully) just trying to ramp up shock value and missed the mark with me in that sense, but then Graves pulled me right back in and locked me in for life. The man inspired me to be a lead vocalist myself, who now, years later also spends his time saying a lot of dumb shit online, so in a way, we're not that different after all :D Loving your voice and talent Eddie, keep it up bro!!
I can't really compare the two. They each give the misfits a completely different style and sound. Danzig was a lot more rougher around the edges and the songs tended to go more for shock value or references to classic horror films. Graves had a more 90s metal aesthetic but with the same 50s influences. It was less hardcore, but the lyrics were also easier to understand in some cases. They're both great. I won't speak for them as people, because I know they both have their detractors in that department, but as musicians I just find it hard to dislike either of them, much less compare them to one another..
I will, Speak for them as people, and Michale Graves has done more free gigs from Jersey to the south than I can think of, he came to me for a show for 100$ the gas was 4X that where it turned into just me and him playing acoustic, because only 40 people showed. Danzig was always very kind, but just wasn’t the dude graves is. Even during the Samhain reunion tour. I left the Samhain tour to go spend time with the misfits

Love them both. They both have a bunch of awesome songs and really good voices. There's not really a need to pick one or the other.
There is no way Danzig could sing Dig Up Her Bones, though, so I guess you have to pick Graves based on that.

Look into Graeves doing that acoustic. It's really great. Again, I love both of them. I feel like, if you broke down the definition of punk rock into one simple statement? It's about accepting things that are different. I think it doesn't make sense to dismiss a new singer, out of hand. I think it's so weird that people do that. Especially when they're stepping into the shoes of someone like Danzig. That shit takes balls; and that should be respected. :)
Seen it. He does a phenomenal job on that acoustic version. I definitely like em both. Prefer the songs from the Danzig era a bit more but Graves had some great ones! This I've seen this question answered almost generational. Older cats lean towards Danzig while the younger generation seems to lean towards Graves. I've met numerous younger people recently who actually thought Graves was the original singer for The Misfits too. Tripped me out.
"Where Eagles Dare" is still my favorite song of theirs :)
